It works well with two Wago 750-8210's. I helped a few customers setting this up. But it should work with any device which can control EtherCAT I/O, is real-time and has sufficient network interfaces. Two network adapters can be used to create a redundant EtherCAT network (you need 2 additional switches for this). The other network adapters can be used to interconnect the 2 PLC's (synchronization). We noticed that if you exchange variable lists that there could be some issues if you have long lists. So what we did is use a SoftPLC on a server that contains all the settings which continuously sends network packages (GVL sender) and which is received by both PLC's (network receiver). Switching over is done in milliseconds. The bus doesn't notice the change-over. EtherCAT communication works flawlessly.

Is there any update on this? Running codesys 3.5.19.70 proj = projects.open(project_path, primary=True, update_flags=flags) This gives an error only when using --noUI exception System.NullReferenceException: Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Project\ci\build.py", line 14, in <module> SystemError: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Exit code: 1</module>

Can anyone shed some light on this issue im having. at random, sometimes days, sometimes weeks or months. i get this error and have to reset the plc. Im using a Weintek HMI with ethernet/ip remote io and vsd. i have tried increasing my task times and watchdogs. and when i view my PLCload in the shell its normally around 3-4%, highest ive ever seen is 7%. Nothing i do seems to help the issue. Could the HMI's Codesys CPU be getting to hot do to high ambient temp?

Hi TimvH, thanks for feedback. I also test the redundancy with Wago PFC 8212 but when I did it (firmware 28) it was not so much stable..Did you have some issue on master/slave switchover? are you using with EtherCAT remote I/O? I was looking for a most powerful hardware (PC based, x64) BR
