I'm trying to use the 30-day trial for a Control Win V3 3S, following the CodeSys tutorial, and I'm getting stopped at the first step.
According to the tutorials, once I create the project, I should get a POU window and a Device-tree window. I only get the POU window, unless/until I go "online" with the simulated PLC (using Online>Simulation). At that point, I see the expected Device, with the Task beneath it, but I can't edit anything in this view, or add POUs, or, well, anything. And the moment I log off, the Devices window vanishes, leaving me with just the POU window.
And if I create POUs in the POU window, none of them show up at all in the Device tree when I log on. I'm stuck in a complete cleft stick, here.
When offline, in the POU window, I've tried right-clicking the project name, and using Add Device. But when I select any of the "PLCs" in the available list, and hit "add device", nothing happens. At all. No errors, nothing.
What am I missing here? I've followed the "getting started" tutorial to the letter, but I'm getting nowhere. What am I doing wrong here?
(the CodeSys Gateway and Control are both running in the SysTray)
If I target my project for the Raspberry Pi, everything works as expected, but I need to generate this program for Win V3 3S (32 bit). Plus I can't even use the Pi version, b/c CodeSys kills the ethernet port somehow and I've had no luck finding any help for that, either.

or maybe your window locations have been messed up, in which case you can reset it with:

I'll try that, thanks. But I think I'll have to set up my test case on a different computer.
For the moment, I think I've managed to fix the problem, but in a rather roundabout fashion -- for lack of any better ideas, I uninstalled my original 64-bit CodeSys package, and installed the 32-bit branch (still version 3.5.16.10). And now, when I create a new project from scratch as per the tutorial, everything works as expected.
This should work for me (crossed fingers!) because my eventual production deployment will just be a 32bit system. But I can't see why this worked -- when I had 64-bit installed, I tried both the 32-bit and 64-bit "PLCs" as project targets, without success -- no Devices window ever. But like I said, in that same 64-bit version, if I tried the Raspberry Pi target instead of a Win or RTE, the POU and Devices windows both appeared as per the tutorial.
