    Hi all,
for a new project I'm looking for a redundant controller with EtherCAT fieldbus I/O.
Actually I'm using Beckhoff and it works great! but there's not a solid redundancy yet...
Does someone get experience for industrial application (not raspberry) for a redundant Codesys system? If yes please share some info (CPU / OS type, bus, number of managed I/O,... and especially feeling feedback (stability, bugs, performance)...
    Every suggestion is kindly appreciated!!

It works well with two Wago 750-8210's. I helped a few customers setting this up. But it should work with any device which can control EtherCAT I/O, is real-time and has sufficient network interfaces.

Two network adapters can be used to create a redundant EtherCAT network (you need 2 additional switches for this).

The other network adapters can be used to interconnect the 2 PLC's (synchronization). We noticed that if you exchange variable lists that there could be some issues if you have long lists. So what we did is use a SoftPLC on a server that contains all the settings which continuously sends network packages (GVL sender) and which is received by both PLC's (network receiver).

Switching over is done in milliseconds. The bus doesn't notice the change-over. EtherCAT communication works flawlessly.

Hi TimvH, thanks for feedback. I also test the redundancy with Wago PFC 8212 but when I did it (firmware 28) it was not so much stable..Did you have some issue on master/slave switchover? are you using with EtherCAT remote I/O? I was looking for a most powerful hardware (PC based, x64)
