Hi peterned, the start position given in the CNC properties is only used if you use the compile mode OutQueue. With compile mode SMC_CNC_REF, you need to provide the start position in the IEC application. The function block SMC_NCInterpreter has an input piStartPosition. You can initialize it with the output of the forward kinematic transormation FB for your machine. In your case probably SMC_TRAFOF_Gantry2. Best regards, Georg

Good day I have been asked to do a project. It is for a pharmaceutical application and data needs to be logged. The spec calls for the control system to comply with GAMP 5 and 21 CFR Part 11. From what I can find online it's got to do with electronic records and validation. Has anyone developed any software using this or are there codesys librarys that can make my life easier in writing this code

I have replaced a Parker PAC320 with a Schneider LMC 201 The system has some Parker Compax3 servodrive communicating over EtherCAT. PAC320 is programmed with Codesys 3.5.15. The program is opened in Machine Expert 3.2. But I can not get the commumication running to the Compax3. When I scan for hardware the it seems like the Compax3 is registated, but not the motors. Anyone that have succeded this replacement?

Hello, I have a problem that randomly appeared today. When trying to scan a network adapter in "Deploy Control SL" the whole program hangs and needs to be restarted. I have been running "CODESYS v3.5 SP21 Patch 3" for a while and it has worked without any issues until now. I've tried upgrading to "CODESYS v3.5 SP21 Patch 4" with the same result. I've not made any system settings recently that im aware of which could cause this. Has anybody had similar a issue?

Hi bertus, the coordinate systems used in SoftMotion CNC are all right-handed. The CNC editor uses isometric projection. This can be confusing, as in your example. The y-axis seems to point into the screen, away from the viewer. However, this is just an optical effect. If you turn on the (experimental) perspective projection (must be added to the CNC tool bar using tools->customize), you can see that the coordinate system is in fact right-handed. Hello everyone, I am building a 3-axis packaging machine. First, I created a virtual axis and connected the knife to the virtual axis using a CAM. I also linked the conveyor system to the virtual axis with GearIn. However, I’m facing the following issue: when I use SUPERIMPOSED to change the conveyor’s motion, I get a COMMAND ABORTED error. The exact error is: SMC_ERROR.SMC_FB_WASNT_CALLED_DURING_MOTION. Why am I getting this error?

Yep sure, though now that i think of it, its a pi 4. My bad. The whole ordeal was necessary to use the VGA666 adapter. That needs the old graphical system and GPIO directly on the CPU. Edit: Putty on the virtual development machine connects fine. But i did change the login/pw. The account is still a sudo'er so that should be all right. Edit2: Sorry i get a "Comment rate limit exceeded" from the forum. Then i'll add it as edit here. So i have tried the stock raspberry pi image on a different pi5 (truly 5 this time). Packages updated. Standard password. Same symptoms, no runtime deployed and long hang time. It seems that running CODESYS virtualized somehow messes with the deployment?

Hi All I was watching the Wago PFC300 webinar ( https://www.wago.com/global/lp-thank-you-onlineseminar-pfc-300 ), and the presenters comment about priority 1 being way above the Ethernet task priority, so that a priority 1 PLC program can actually loose SCADA connection, made me try to round up some hard evidence on Codesys Priorities. I find there is very little information on "correct" task priority configuration. Some controllers have separate MODBUS tasks, but doesn't seem like a big difference. How would you recommend splitting up communication, IO fieldbus and programs into differently prioritized tasks? I know its a complex matter and all about my application, but I really miss there was just some kind of guidance in the documentations and with all new standard Codesys programs having priority 1 as default, makes it seem less important, than it really is.

I got as far as: Then insert this: [SysProcess] BasePriority=Realtime Command=AllowAll devoid of references of where the CodesysContol.cfg file was located or of the need to run codesys as root I incrementally located bits of information with perplexity searches but remained mired at error 25 ERR_NO_ACCESS I am curious whether root access is MANDATORY to run SysProcessExecuteCommand (- and/or any other SysProcess functions) or if a more access-constrained User=quasiroot could suffice without the security concerns ? Apparently codesys runs fine without User=root for almost everything... That raises the question: What IS the default codesys user ? I notice in the prototypes: VAR sCommand : STRING := '/usr/bin/whoami'; sOutput : STRING(255); refCommand : REFERENCE TO STRING; refOutput : REFERENCE TO STRING; resultCmd : UDINT; END_VAR whenever I attempt to build this Codesys v3.5 SP2 whines that "cannot convert type REFERENCE TO STRING to STRING" don't remember the exact message... Apparently this happens whenever a fixed-length string is involved. if I get rid of (255) and just set the string := ' '; that is sufficient to make the compiler happy. Is this a recently enforced constraint ? Why does this compile for you and not for me ? There are references to functions / utilities which are used/needed to massage the string references - but I see no specific details... I also notice you specify: Make sure the lib SysProcessImplementation, SysTypes, and CmpErrors is on the project. I don't comprehend why all of the dependent libraries are not automatically referenced, added ? I don't recall seeing anywhere but here that SysProcessImplementation must be included... It just seems odd that the default is to exclude essential libraries, or require alchemical conjuring to assemble all the ingredients for gnat soup ;-) Thanks a lot... Hi, I have been trying to get a CANbus device working with Codesys 3.5SP19 patch1 via a Beckhoff EL6751 gateway without success. I have the CANOpen_Manager and CANopen device configured but this will not run. Is there any code required to kickstart the CANbus comms into action? Regards Trevor

I believe the reason that I eventually lose my ability connect is because of exceeding the time limit for demo mode. Still unsure why I cannot update the edge gateway though.

ok now it is clear - this is a single core Pi Zero W. For this device there is no edge device available. But just for working with CODESYS it is not really needed and yes plc runs only for 2h unlicensed.

Habe ein ähniches Problem Ethercat läuft nur mit RT 4.8.0.0 nicht aber Onewire. Füge ich ForceFile läuft Onewire, nicht Ethercat. Bei IecFilePath.3 läuft Ethercat nicht aber Onewire

Hello everyone, I am using SP19 patch 2 on a Kunbus device with runtime package 4.9.0.0. I am having the same problem as mentioned above. With the FB File.open I get the FILE_OPERATION_DENIED error. I have also tried the path /var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic. Any advice? Chris
