Hi, I'm trying to get Scaling working on my axis. An increment produces 36.6mm of movement, so I want to put the units in application as 36.6. However the docs say that I need to change bHiresMode as it doesn't show me the option for Precision in the User Interface. I'm thinking that I need to change the precision so I can enter decimal places. How can I do this, or is my thinking wrong? Thanks,

I had similar assertion failed error messages today. I am fairly new to Codesys. I tried using SFC for the first time, I usually use ST. Anyway I had errors in some of my transitions. I copied and pasted transition code and forgot to change the target of the code. I started getting lots of the assertion errors but now I have sorted out the problems and it compiles OK the assertion error messages seem to have stopped. There do not seem to be any other responses to your post, did you resolve your problem?

Hello Matteo, I think the problem is about configuration of firewall (windows firewall usually). You can disable temporary the firewall to check if the communication works. Eventually you can: Go to the control panel -> Windows Defender Firewall -> Allow an app or feature Enable the options to change the settings. Scroll down in the application list to CODESYS and CODESYS ControlService. If you don’t see this application add it to the list. Make sure that all the checkboxes are checked (Domain, Private and public).

Hello, what would be the most efficient way to check whether the file exists or not. I don't want to use file.Open function, it seems like rather inefficiet operaton. I considered GetAttribute function, but this function doesn't accept filename (with path) as an input. Basically I need to check first time when program is loaded to the runtime i.e. when application is started for the first time, whether a file exists on the specific location or not.

I am not sure if IAlarm.GetState (METH) can be used for this purpose. Good morning, The problem I encounter is very disturbing, when I try to connect to my project, it asks me to put in my username and password, which I do. However, I cannot connect and it restarts. the window to rewrite my identifiers. However it is the correct identifier and password I do not understand why. When I try to put false identifiers there strangely it tells me that these are not valid identifiers. There is something what can I do? Sincerely

The help link appears to be broken. When I implemented something similar I had to add {attribute 'reflection} above the declaration of the FB with {attribute 'instance-path'} above the string VAR that would contain the path. Then wrote a function to trim off however much I wanted removed by searching for periods, then formatting it with spaces at the periods and removing brackets on arrays while also breaking up the PascalCase to present it a bit nicer for the end-users.

Hello, Im using SMC_NCInterpreter and SMC_NCReadFile2 to read gcode program for CNC machine and what I have observed is that G51 and G52 is not smoothing the path. Machine stops in every point, what could I do to make machine pass through the points without stopping or what could allow me to use smooth path corretly if I use NCInterpreter. Im using it because I want to add variables to my gcode and its not possible directly from the CNC editor thats why I do use external file. Any ideas?

The real strength of something like VS Code lies in its vast ecosystem of extensions and integrations: from advanced Git support to automated build/test pipelines, and even AI-assisted autocompletion that already makes software development much more agile and productive. I understand that a PLC project involves more than just ST code (task setup, fieldbus configuration, libraries, etc.). However, there’s no technical reason not to at least provide ST files in a pure text format, making version control and collaboration far easier. B&R has clearly adopted this approach; I hope Codesys will accelerate its own efforts to offer a native, text-based integration and modern development tooling. Once you go beyond a certain level of complexity—dozens of configurations, OOP hierarchies, and distributed teams—you really do need “engineer-level” software tools, not just solutions targeting “wire strippers.” For large-scale automation projects, a more open and flexible approach is the only way to avoid chronic frustration. Let me emphasize that I truly love Codesys and consider the work done so far to be brilliant—I’d be sorry to see it overshadowed by others moving faster in this direction.

Hi, I am trying to load a test application into a DSE M840-001-02 display, but after reboot the device still shows: “No application loaded” I would like to understand whether the problem is in my project, the package creation process, or firmware/runtime compatibility. Hello, I'm relatively new to PLC programming. I am trying to creat a ramp down function, I have an example here of what I am using. I can get the function to work, the issue is that the OUT (variable3) value is being held by the FB so after I use it once it no longer works. In this example i set variable3 to 100 and the rest is as seen, over the course of a minute it ramped down to 10 (as desired). But when I deenergize TEST_START, set variable3 back to 100, and then re-energize TEST_START it immediately jumps back to the previously held value 10. The reset on this block just pauses the function and holds the last OUT. In my case I will need the function to start OUT at a set value, ramp down to the IN (variable2) value, and then accept a new OUT value to ramp down next time the block is energized. Hopefully this made sense, if anyone has any advice that would be awesome!

Yes it is possible. I did it a lot of times using TeamViewer VPN. Unfortunately, TeamViewer VPN only works on Windows. If the remote PLC is a Codesys runtime running on Windows, you should be able to login directly using TeamViewer VPN if it is installed on the PC/PLC. If it is not Windows based, you can still do it but you need to have a Windows based PC acting as a gateway in the middle. In this case you need to enable IP Forwarding on the Windows remote PC (the gateway) and you need to setup the gateway IP address on the PLC to be the address of the Windows PC. Then you need to add a route on your local PC to point to the gateway PC for Codesys communication. I know it may not be detailed enough but I did not want to make a whole tutorial on how to do it. Bottom line, it is possible. I do it all the time.

Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a project involving the control of 5 VFDs via Modbus RTU, this time using the WAGO 750-8212 CPU. So far, I've managed to make progress, but I've encountered an issue. While I can successfully read and write to all the registers I need, I consistently encounter a "Response CRC Fail" error when attempting to write the value 1151 to the STW register at address 40100. I'm able to set the frequency via register 40101 and adjust all other parameters using different registers. Setting STW to 1150 results in the drive ready boolean from the ZSW-bit being received instantly. However, the moment I attempt to send 1151 to register 40100, I immediately receive the "Response CRC Fail" error for all channels. I've also attempted to use combined control, employing Modbus for frequency control and starting from a digital input. Everything seems to function properly until I send the start command to the VFD. Interestingly, I consistently encounter the same error the moment I send the start command, regardless of whether I use register 40006 (high) or 40100 (1151). Could someone please assist me in resolving this issue?

I want to configure each of them by define : - Modbus TCP Slave Configuration : Name, IPAddress, port - Channels - Mapping I can't afford to configure manually and I need to find automatic way What possibilities does the Codesys offer? 1. I know it possible to use python script to create Modbus TCP Master and Slave. But I don't find anyway to create Channels and Mapping through the API 2. I 've tested to set mapping with file.csv on a Modbus Tcp Slave, but no way to import channels definition from file 3. I 've tried to use PLCOpenXml file. For example I 've create a project with an Ethernet device. I've exported it in PlcOpenXml file. After delete the Ethernet device, I've imported the PlcOpenXml file without success. I've tried the same by creating Modbus TCP Slave. Could you help me to find to good way ? Thanks

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I am also new to Codesys programming. My problem is this: I have a STRUCT of 64 bool and 30 real, this STRUCT is assigned in the programme 9 times. Now I need to communicate with an HMI via Modbus and I have defined the slave device and created the holding registers for communication. I would like to declare the first call of the STRUCT on the Modbus registers %QX2000.0 to %QX2007.7 for the booleans and on the registers %QW1004 to %QW1034 for the real registers. That said, I would like to change an index and set an offset of 100 bytes for the calls of the other 8 assignments, so that the result is: %QX2100.0 to %QX2107.7 for the booleans and on the %QW1104 to %QW1134 registers for the Real registers, etc. Is there a way to declare this? Ich bin mir vollkommen im Unklaren: muss da was auf dem Raspberry Pi im Hintergrund laufen , z.B. raspivid . Welcher Programmteil bedient die Cam ? Ich erkenne auch nicht, wo ein einzelnes picture entstehen soll. Wäre dankbar, wenn ich hier etwas Hilfe bekommen könnte. Evtl. gibt es Probleme mit der von mir verwendeten Codesys-Version 3.5.20.1 ? My controller, which is a Linux PC, has got two network cards eth0 and eth1 I whant to use the card with name "eth0" as a server for OPCUA and keep the "eth1" free for other stuffs. Is it possible ? Hi, I am quite new to Codesys and I try to do a Profinet connection to an Siemens PLC (315-2DP) with CP343-1 Lean Modul. I already configured the Siemens PLC, exported the GSDML. Then I added a new project in Codesys, added following moduls: - Ethernet - PN_Controller - Imported Profinet Device via GSDML importer When I start the programm everything looks fine but I always get the message "Stopped Profinet" and no data is available This is only for a small test. Therefore I start to do that on a Windows 10 with Development System. Later I will try to realize this on Raspberry. Ethernet Adapter is configured (192.168.1.1 / 24) Firewall deactivated WinPCap is installed S7-Station seems to be found ('fuadazenzitest') Can please somebody help me?

Hi there, I'm running the Codesys runtime on Windows 64 and I need to know if it is on "Running" or "Stopped" state just after a system crash. The following commands works perfectly well to (re)start it... net stop “CODESYS Control Win V3 - x64" net start “CODESYS Control Win V3 - x64" ...however I'm unable to determine when it is required to be call; I mean, by checking the System Tray icon, it is possible to know if it is on "Stopped" state, but I wanted to run a .BAT command to retrieve it. How can we do that?

I am using a Raspberry Pi 2B. Installed Codesys V3.5.20.1 64-bit and installed 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry PI 4.12.0.0' I am able to install the packages using the 'Update Raspberry Pi' option, but when I try to log into the RPi, in the Device tab it says 'Sacn fail. Please checl that the gateway is running and that its settings are correct'. My setup looks like this. I connected my RPi to my company LAN and also my laptop to company LAN (using HP Docking station). This setup worked when I installed 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry PI', but now I donot know how to configure the gateway. Could anyone please help me in finding what I have to enter in the gateway configuration? Thanks, Vamsi.
