Hello, I hope someone could help me. I installed the newest Codesys 3.5 SP 20 Patch 1. When loading the demo files from @i-campbell I can upgrade them to the latest version and everthing works on the OPC-UA client side as expected (object "a" is visible, I can use the "ExampleMethod"). Now I * remove the "Information Model", * delete the "OPC_UA_Symbols Objects", * Add "Information Model" again * add "TestRootObjectType" again and "Generate IEC declarations" * and search for mapped instances (to get instance "a" again) Very good still working as expected. Now I delete the OPC_UA_Symbols and add it again referring to the "objecttest" from 16.9.2020. Also I redo the steps from above. The result is now, that I can't see the "a" object in the "Root/Objects" folder. Why ist this and how can I make it running? I think, it could may be a different version of the UA configuration file. I tried to build my own model definition files and got the same problem (but I am really not an expert). When someone has a actual model, which is also running in the actual Codesys I would be very grateful. Or even better, how to make the correct model in e.g. UA Modeler SW (I followed the description https://documentation.unified-automation.com/uamodeler/1.6.0/html/howprojnet_sec.html).

I'm programming an HMI for a machine. I want to log all the parameter's changes (used text field for displaying and changing) for particular User levels. Created a Numpad and want to log oldvalue and Newvalue on 'ok' Button press. To retrieve the oldvalue, i check if the dialogue opened is my Numpad, Then I retrieve the dialogue interface via GetDialogInterface(ADR(myNumpad)) --> numpadData.stVariableValue which contain my oldvalue and save it locally. Problem is sometimes i retrieve the data and sometimes not. Also observed when Numpad Dialogue is Opened, VisuDlgUtil_IsDialogOpen returns False in some cycles.Attached you will find my Project. please let me know what went wrong or if there is a better approach to collect old and New Value of a textfield. Thank you.

Hello, I am using codesys Modbus TCP client (4.4.0.0) to communicate with a python modbus server (package pyModbusTCP). I first start my python server on the distant machine. After a fresh codesys compilation, a plc connection/transfer and a PLC run, the modbus connection is OK. Every time in this context the connection is created correctly. When I shut down the server, the modbus connection falls, that is normal. When I restart the python server, impossible to recreate the modbus connexion. With the client autoreconnection, I see on my server that the client tries to connect but unsuccesfully. I have the following message : DEBUG:pyModbusTCP.server:accept new connection from ClientInfo(address='192.168.1.20', port=33476) DEBUG:pyModbusTCP.server:Exception during request handling: NetworkError('recv return null') I tried to stop the codesys client and to restart it with these commands : Modbus_TCP_Client.xStop := True; // Or False Modbus_TCP_Client.Enable := True; // Or False Modbus_TCP_Server.Enable := True; // Or False I tried to confirm the error manually to force reconnection with: Modbus_TCP_Server_Motors.xConfirmError := TRUE; I tried also this command to STOP/RESET/START client and server (codesys side) but nothing happens : status_client := Modbus_TCP_Client.SetCommunicationState(eRequestedState := DED.DEVICE_TRANSITION_STATE.STOP); // .RESET & .START The answer of this function when executed is "status_client = NOT_SUPPORTED" It seems that is a socket problem, but I do not understand if it is on the client or server side. I tried a modbus simulator called "ananas.exe" and the result is the same. Impossible to get a modbus reconnection. What is different at the first connection and at a reconnection attempt ? Update the Device: Right-click on the device icon in the project tree. Select the “Update Device” option. Recompile the Project: After updating the device, recompile the project from scratch to ensure that all changes are included. Check Task Settings: Go to the “Tasks” tab in the project. Check the priority settings for the tasks to ensure they are configured correctly.

In Visualization, is there any way to make special characters in a string display properly in a Text object? I wrote a function block to create QR codes at runtime. My code uses “$DB,” which in ASCII should render as a solid block. The code works, but to display it in Visualization I had to create multiple rectangles with visibility bound to a BOOL array. That works, but since each BOOL must be exposed as a separate variable, it consumes most of the available monitoring resources. See Attached image.

It is being worked on by many companies and its even-driven function blocks seem like a natural evolution of the object oriented industrial programming I have seen Gary Pratt (author of the Book of CODESYS and much more) so expertly implement and explain. I would expect CODESYS to have this front and center on their sights and, if they do not, I would be very interested in learning why.

I am designing a custom slider object and i ran into a problem when i want to use properties with it. I can update the basic variables if i have a slider variable defined as VAR_IN_OUT, but it does not work with properties. How can i achieve same functionality that some basic objects have (for example basic Slider that comes withing the codesys libraries) such that i can pass both variables and properties to it and they can be modified within the object? I am using Codesys V3.5 SP20 Patch 5.

Hello I'm using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 6 and a Raspberry PI 5 4GB Bookworm 32bit with the Runtime 4.11.0.0 SL. I can install the runtime and download the software completly but after a few seconds the connection disconnects with the message no connection to device. Please scan network again. And the object reference was not set to an object instance. See screenshot. Can somebody help me with that? Thanks
