Hello @eschwellinger, My project stopped working again. it would appear that this solution didn't resolve the problem perminantely. I deleted my alarm manager and the problem is no longer. When I put back in the Alarm Manager and my alarms the issue returns.

I am having the same trouble. However, if I change the Login Configuration settings to 'Type: Login using the credentials determined at runtime' then the Connection information continues as 'Connection state: Connecting' and 'Error information: OK'. There is no User Management on the source PLC.

the project has only one OneWire Master - so if you add the setting "PlaceholderFilePath.2=/sys/devices/w1_bus_master2, $OneWire2$ to the config file it will fail and the Ethercat task will be blocked by the OneWire Master readings?

Thank you for an answer. Unfortunatelly, it doesn't work. The slave needs command byte as follows 0x22. It means expedited transfer where s-bit is not set, therefore data length is not specified. If I use segmented mode by CiA405.SDO_WRITE_DATA it produce command byte as follows 0x21 which is unfortunately supported by the slave and it returns with error 0x05040001 - SDO Abort Code -Client/server command specifier not valid or unknown. I can use CAN API low level to overcome this problem where it is possible to set 0x22 as a command byte, but than I can use user interface to set the communication probably, because I thing that machine expert uses library CiA405.SDO_WRITE for setting the slave. Or am I wrong?

I want to implement an extended I2C master for Raspberry Pi Control. I was hoping for it to be as easy as creating a library with a FB that extends i2cMaster and associating it with a device following the forge drivers documentation, but I haven't managed to make it work as the driver behaves only as an i2c slave. I'm thinking this is because the forge forum only talks about extending i2c, and the master portion is omitted since most users won't want to add a custom one. I'd like to know if I'm doing something wrong. Is it really possible to make an I2C master extension device? If so, are there public examples we can check out? Any info on this topic will be appreciated.

Hello, I am trying to connect to my PLC (IFM CR711S) via VPN(EWON COSY). I have been told to use Gateway SP14 or higher. I installed CODESYS 3.5 SP20 Patch4. In the Codesys Installer Software I can sleect "Set Gateway Service" and I do so for CODESYS 3.5 SP20 Patch4. I can start the Gateyay and select About and it shows: "CoDeSys Gateway V3 - x64 Version 3.5.20.40" (see attached) For compatibility reasons I have to run my PLC code in 3.5 SP11 and when I start I can first connect but then somehow the system restarts an older version of the Gateway only displaying: "CoDeSys Gateway V3" (see attached) I guess my question is how to run an old Cocesys Software with a new Gateway?

so from what i've learned. Codesys OPCUA Server can only provide OPC UA Methods, when they are created in an XML Model beforehand. So you have to create the XML Model with OPC UA Methods. Then load that model into codesys and create the IEC Blocks. This is automated Code and will create all the variables and Methods from your XML Model. Then they will be displayed on discovery with an OPC UA Client. As far as I understood. There is no way for Methods to be shown in OPC UA when not using an external XML Informationmodel. Codesys can not yet create the informationmodel on itself. Regards

Follow up question: in the Project Settings, under Library Development, there is an option related to this: Check all Pool Objects -> Pointer size to use Options are: * 32 Bit * 64 Bit * 32 and 64 Bit The descriptions and online help suggest to me this is only relevant for checking and showing any incorrect pointer types as an error in the IDE. E.g. using a DWORD to store a pointer value on a 64-bit controller. It would not control the creation of either 32-bit or 64-bit compiled libraries. Is that correct?

Hi, supporting a text based storage format is on our roadmap, see https://www.codesys.com/the-system/releases-updates-lifecycle/release-plan-roadmap.html It will be an Add-On feature called "File Based Storage" for the professional developer edition. Structured text POUs will be stored as plain text. Other graphical languages will remain in an xml format. You will be able to switch the storage type for projects. Certain workflows will become easier this way. Nevertheless restrictions will remain because of CODESYS specific storage logic (for example how methods below function blocks are stored as file). So merging using our Git Integration Add-On remains the recommended workflow. A workflow involving Visual Studio Code as the main IDE is not supported. Simply because many topics like library management, task configuration or fieldbus configurators are not available for VS Code. A PLC project is a lot more than just some ST POUs. Best Regards

Thus, all tests would have to manually reset values when complete to prevent contamination to other tests. * It is not possible to see which statements were/weren't executed. One would have to use the flow control tool which cannot be used in conjunction with the Profiler, and must be viewed in realtime. * The profiler control cannot be automated and therefore must be executed through a manual procedure. Hello all, I am facing issues with using SysCom library. With SysCom23 library things were simple but since we are migrating to 64bit systems, I am writing a Porting program. With SysCom23, opening the comport was as simple as providing the ComPort no. which returns the Handle as a DWORD. dwHandle:=SysComOpen(Port); But the new library is a bit different. It is asking for 2 input parameters to open the Com Port - Port Number and POINTER to RTS_IEC_RESULT IF hCom = 0 THEN hCom := SysComOpen(ComSettings.sPort, ADR(pResult)); How should I use the RTS_IEC_Result? I can find RTS_IEC-REUSLT under SysType2Interfaces of SysCom library. Also, can someone give me a general understanding of this RTS_IEC_REULT and RTS_IEC_HANDLE, etc.?

Hi there, An "OPC Expert" client software is connecting to a Codesys Control RTE (x64) OPC UA Server. It reads only about 25 variables every 5 minutes. The OPC UA Server seems to shut down on the Codesys runtime. Is there any way to get information about the Codesys OPC UA Server status? Restart it? There is nothing in the PLC Logs after the OPC UA Server has started. It works for a while, then it doesn't. Any ideas? Any way of getting more info out of the Codesys OPC UA Server? -Bjarne

If I am understanding what you are saying, then yes that would be your problem. I would create an array of bools on the client side for the transfer and try that. Or if client can't be changed then use words on server and unpack. But I am not sure if you or I are mis interpreting but it sounds a bit jumbled. I don't know what you have control of, but, if you are turning on BITS in the server, you should write to BITS in the client with a Function 15. If you are writing to WORDS in the server, you should write to WORDS in the client with a Function 16.

@imdatatas, thanks for the info, I increased DSP402.uiHomingMinCycles to 10 and have a good feeling that will solve the issue of "false" homings. It's an intermittent issue so I'll report back once it's confirmed. @bruno-roth, also good info. According to my documentation, bit 14 is used to indicate the homed status. I did a test and the bit always stays true after it's been homed once (eg. even if I initiate a new homing procedure then hit the the e-stop mid homing), so I need to take that into consideration, but I can work with that. Hello there, I have my ethernet/ip adapter (from Texas Instrument) running on Texas Instrument Board and I have configured the scanner on codesys. I have mapped the I/Os and I can see (on wireshark) the frames coming from adapter but I don't see my input variables in scanner get updated, they just stay at 0. I wanted to see the real data that has been sent from adapter to scanner on codesys. I am not sure if the problem is in I/O mapping or there is a step/s that I have missed.
