If the PLC is equieped with a USB socket it's possible to copy the user management file via IEC code to a USB stick and restore it at the new plc. The file is located there: /PlcLogic/visu/app_visuusermgmtdb.csv I use this to reset the user management to default in case of the customer has changed passwords and lost it.

Hi Gustavo, can you reduce the problem to a project that reproduces the issue without the real servo drives? (You could set the servo drives to virtual and strip away as much as possible from the application.) If you can attach a project, we will have a look. Best regards, Georg

1) In the library manager of your project select "Download missing libraries". 2) In the library manager open the "Placeholders" dialog. In here find the Placeholder which is not referenced to a specific library yet. Click in this line on the Library column and select the latest version of this library.

Answering to myself: is not possible according to the IFM support, this possibility has not been taken into account, although the interfaces and FBs in Codesys would apparently support it. So I ended up having to deactivate the sensor validation and the backup & restore functionality in the master and implement it in the PLC myself.

Hi aniket-b, If you save the library as a compiled library you are not able to see the source code. When the end user tries to view inside the object, CODESYS will give a notification that the source code is missing, see attachment. In short if you don't send the source code, it will not show.

make sure the PLC and the programming PC have IP addresses that are on the same subnet, you'll have to know the default address of the PLC or you may need to connect to it with a special cable and use a software tool to set the IP address.

If I was running the candump command from a terminal (via PuTTy, etc), that command usually requires Ctrl+C to terminate. Is there a way to terminate a command that is executed with SysProcessExecuteCommand2?

Ok, the problem is that the trend/trace system can't read function block instance data. The variables has to be stored directly under the program calling the FBs. Thus, FB variables to be trended/traced must be connected to variables declared in the program. Seems like a bug to me!

From Codesys support: The format of the URN is always the same. It's always urn:<vendor>:<product>:OPCUA:Server. My PLC is WAGO PFC200 Firmware Revision 26. target After updating WAGO_Devices_and_Libraries with newer Firmware 27, CODESYS wants to update all libraries to new versions. I will only add that I did not update the Firmware in the PLC. After compiling the program, I received the following errors: ------ Build started: Application: Device.Application ------- Typify code... [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): FbSerialInterface_internal: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): FbSerialInterface_internal: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_RESULT' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): Initialize [FbSerialInterface_internal]: C0032: Cannot convert type 'Unknown type: 'RTS_INVALID_HANDLE'' to type 'POINTER TO BYTE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): Initialize [FbSerialInterface_internal]: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_INVALID_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): Initialize [FbSerialInterface_internal]: C0046: Identifier 'RTS_INVALID_HANDLE' not defined [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): comextra_is_tx_empty: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): comextra_get_line_state: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): comextra_is_line_available: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): COMSW_SET_MODE: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): comextra_set_line_state: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' Compile complete -- 10 errors, 0 warnings Build complete -- 10 errors, 0 warnings : No download possible The problem was caused by the WagoSysPlainMem(WAGO) library in the original version 1.5.3.0 after updating to 1.5.3.1. After returning to version 1.5.3.0, the problems disappeared. Probably the version number of this library is responsible for supporting the appropriate Firmware Revision. Can anyone confirm or deny my suspicions?

Post by timvh on STRING conversions to DWORD
CODESYS Forge

I guess that the printer expects to receive an array of byte values. So where it is described that it expects to receive: Hercules String : 1B4F513030311B7532626C61636B04 it actually expects to receive an array of bytes with the values 1B,4F,51,30,30, etc. So what you can do is create an array of bytes and assign the byte value to each item in the array: VAR abyToSend : ARRAY[0..99] OF BYTE; END_VAR abyToSend[0] := 16#1B; // ASCII Escape character, hexadecimal representation uses 16# as prefix abyToSend[1] := 16#4F; // ASCII 'O' abyToSend[2] := 16#51; // ASCII 'Q' abyToSend[3] := 16#30; // ASCII '0' // you can do the rest yourself // maybe could be created a lot smarter, but gives you an indication how to handle this. Then with the serial communication (or TCP/IP?) you can send a message with the reference to the array (abyToSend) and the number of bytes to send (15 bytes for the string you gave as example).

Thank you for your advice Rinie, I have tried to follow this example but found one problem. When I disconnect with Hercules the system does not acknowledge the lost of its connection this could result in critical errors. Because of this error I am trying to implement the Syssocket library. With this library I am having a problem which I could not solve. I have the following code: ip_adres : STRING :='0.0.0.0'; port : WORD := 5000; iStep : INT := 1; // Socket information Socket_handler : SysSocket_Interfaces.RTS_IEC_HANDLE; Socket_handler_result : SysSocket_Interfaces.RTS_IEC_RESULT; Socket_adress : SysSocket_Interfaces.SOCKADDRESS; Addres_Convert : SysSocket_Implementation.RTS_IEC_RESULT; // Bind information Bind_handler : SysSocket_Interfaces.RTS_IEC_RESULT; // Listener Information Listener_handler : SysSocket_Interfaces.RTS_IEC_RESULT; Addres_Convert := SysSocket_Implementation.SysSockInetAddr(szIPAddress:= ip_adres,pInAddr:= ADR(Socket_adress.sin_addr)); Socket_adress.sin_family:= SysSocket_Interfaces.SOCKET_AF_INET; Socket_adress.sin_port := SysSocket_Implementation.SysSockHtons(usHost:= port); CASE iStep OF 1: // Create Socket Socket_handler :=SysSockCreate( iAddressFamily :=SysSocket_Interfaces.SOCKET_AF_INET, diType:=SysSocket_Interfaces.SOCKET_STREAM, diProtocol:=SysSocket_Interfaces.SOCKET_IPPROTO_TCP, pResult:=ADR(Socket_handler_result)); IF Socket_handler = SysSocket_Interfaces.RTS_INVALID_HANDLE THEN iStep := 1; ELSE iStep := 2; END_IF 2: Bind_handler := SysSocket_Implementation.SysSockBind( hSocket:=Socket_handler, pSockAddr :=ADR(Socket_adress), diSockAddrSize:=SIZEOF(Socket_adress) ); 3: Listener_handler := SysSocket_Implementation.SysSockListen( hSocket :=Socket_handler, diMaxConnections :=1); END_CASE When I am trying to get this working, the SysSockBind function gives a value of 16#207 which means adress already in use. I find this weird because of the IP-adress of 0.0.0.0. I think I am converting the Ip-adress in the wrong way, but the code does not give a error arround this. So therefore I cannot find the solution to this problem. I hope someone could help me with this problem. Thanks in advance George

Hi Just new to motion and i am building my own 3axis cnc cutter using servo drives. i have every thing working quite well apart from mc_home. when executed (r_trig) it stops immediately and i get fb_wasnt_called_during_motion. if i execute the mc_home fb with a toggle it just runs and runs for a while then errors out. what im unsure of is the way mc_home works. from what i understand it changes the drive mode to 6 (homing) and should then run of the drive homing settings. once origin sensor is made then homing would stop and mc_home.done is true. and the position on the fb is where i what the new home position (zero) to be? or do i feed mc_readposition to that input? so i would think its the settings in the drive that aren't quite right. but i believe they are all correct. has any one got any info to steer me in the right direction? Cheers

Sorry for the question, but I'm not completely getting the idea here, could you be more specific, maybe give an example? I'm now in a state where I don't have a softcontainer on my license server anymore (even after reinstalling from the Codesys-IDE). I tried reaching the webserver of Codemeter but when I do that I get redirected to http://"IP":22352 This is not reachable, afterwards I installed lynx on my Debian machine (command line only). From here I could reach the webserver and toggle the network server setting, but unfortunately this did not help. I also tried to changed the remote read setting to 1 (in the Server.ini file). But after a Codemeter reboot this is overwritten to 0. I have the feeling that it should be much easier to get a license to work, am I missing some checkbox somewhere? Is there a tutorial (or manual) that explains the licensing sequence step by step, because I'm pretty stuck.

Hi everyone, new at Codesys and PLC programming in general. I am using Codesys Win V3.5 SP20 I would like to measure an encoder's frequency output (obtaining that pulse train from Factory IO) and intended to use the MeasureFrequence FB (Intern/CAA/Utilities/CAA Mathematics/3.5.19.0). As mentioned in the title what I need to measure is low frequency, such as lower than 40hz (a cycle every 25mS) or so; I could even go lower frequency if required as this is for test purposes) therefore I am not expecting problem measuring a low frequency with that FB The library in question appears to be installed as I can retrieve it from the Library Repository. I can also see it from the Device's Library Manager. Problem arises when I am trying to instantiate this particular FB. I go like this: VAR MeasF:MeasureFrequence; END_VAR Please note that as soon as I start typing the "MeasureFrequence", the MeasureFrequence comes out as a viable option in auto-typing; seems to indicate that the FB is recognized somehow. But there is no way I can compile this as it comes back with the following: C0046: Identifier 'MeasureFrequence' not defined. Tried to rename that to ABC instead of MeasF; same issue. Possibly that the library is not properly installed ? Placeholder ? I would greatly appreciate a bit of guidance if possible. Thank you and regards, Mike

Hello! I'm working with Codesys SP21 Patch 4. The project builds without any errors. When trying to upload my project to Codesys Runtime V3 x64 I get a lot of Unresolved Reference errors, all with FU- at the start and then -CLOSELAYER2, -GETBUSINFO, -GETFRAME etc. I also get a error pop-up that I should 'update device' in the project but it's not specified to which version or anything useful really. There's also not much to choose from. When I check Runtime version in the systray I get 3.5.21.40 and it's the same as I have set up in the project as the device. All information I get is that it should be clear from the errors but no useful information is provided in the errors. Do I need to install some library? I checked other posts and for different reference error and this was the answer. Thanks in advance!

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
