Hello, I have a project using some EPEC PLC's. Some of them are programmable using Ethernet and some use CAN. We currently have a Raspberry Pi that is acting as a gateway to the Codesys Automation Server and is successfully working for the PLC's communicating over ethernet. I am trying to achieve a similar result for the PLC's that have only CAN access. I have PEAKCan drivers on the Pi, and can successfully send/receive messages. But the Gateway does not recognise the PLC when scanned from the Automation server online. Is there a library or service that exists to translate the CAN messaging, to the Edge Gateway, and be able to achieve remote access with the Automation Server? Or is this not possible without creating something custom? Cheers, Daniel

It seems you have 2 network interfaces. Did you try eth1? Did you already configure the IP address for this interface in Linux? If yes, then maybe undo this. - or only set eth0 in the Nic configuration without anything else (so no IP address, because this is already set in Linux). For more information about the Nic settings, see (probably already read it?): https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_obj_deploy_control_sl_configuration.html PS, if you only want to run CODESYS Control SL, you don't necessarily need the Virtual PLC variant. You could also install and run the CODESYS Control SL Runtime in the Host operating system. This way you should also be able to access the serial port and directly access all ethernet ports. Maybe this is easier?

I thought I knew what I am doing, but something is missing what? From Device-Communication Settings select from drop down menu "Device" Select entry "Change Runtime Security Policy" Check the "Allow anonymous login" Select "Symbol Configuration" in your application In settings check "Support for OPC UA features" Check some of the values you want in your set Press the build button in the "Symbol Configuration" Press the button "Configure Symbol Rights" Make sure that Anonymous_OPCUAServer has access right to your "default set" From Device-Communication Settings select "Access Rights" in RemoteConnections-OPCUAServer Anonymous_OPCUAServer should be given modify and view rights I suppose. I can connect with UaExpert but I cannot see my Application or browse my values. What is missing?

If support for a containerized CODESYS runtime with a license isn't feasible, then I've considered an alternative approach: I've purchased and activated a "CODESYS Control Basic S" license on my Windows notebook, where I already have the Codemeter Control Center installed. Upon activation, I can see the CODESYS license as active on my notebook. Subsequently, I followed the instructions provided in this link (https://faq.codesys.com/display/CDSFAQ/How+to%3A+Setup+a+Wibu+Network+Server+Access+for+Licenses) to configure the Wibu runtime in the CODESYS container to access my external license server hosted on my notebook by editing the CODESYSControl_User.cfg file accordingly. However, it's worth noting that I'm still receiving a response from the Licensing Manager indicating that the runtime is persistently searching for a dongle instead of recognizing the soft container. So how can I get my runtime licensed now? Any ideas?

Looking to access a variable at runtime that indicates a user is online to the code. essentially want to use this value to feedback to the user on the HMI. we use turck and bosch rexroth devices if this information helps. I was hoping there was a variable at the application level, or a library that could be used but I was unable to find anything. I know there's a pop up when you try to login/ go online to the code when a user is already logged in, so the system does provide an indication that it knows already online, but has no access to a value from what I can see. Any help is appreciated

We are creating helper function blocks for our VFD(EtherNetIP). How should I set it up so that I can pass the device into and out of the Function Block so that ideally I can access the IO of the device by devicename.channelname. So something like for example we have a VFD with a start bit that is in the ControlWord channel and a SetVelocity that is a channel. And we want to create a Function Block called StartVFD. So I declare something like: FUNCTION_BLOCK StartVFD VAR_IN_OUT device: ioDrvEthernetIP.RemoteAdapter; END_VAR VAR_INPUT velocity : REAL; So in the code it would look something like device.SetVelocity := velocity; device.ControlWord.6 := True; We have a pretty basic eds file for our VFD and can update it if necessary. Trying the web-version of trend-data. This seems to be a impressive tool, but I lack/cant find a number of what I would think are important parts. There does not seem to be a way to get away from the dot.notated variable naming in the legend.. A developer might want the dot-notation but an end-customer will surely not. For instance I want to display 12 temperatures, instead of t1, t2 etc.. they will be named. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_a gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_b gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_c gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t2_a .. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t4_b.. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t4_c.. Quite a lot of unnecessary text/data taking space from the actual trend => Is there a way to access/interface the legend-data programmatically so I can change the presentation/naming?

I have noticed that Codesys doesn't provide option to Export any Visualization objects even though there is option to check to export VISU_TASK, which is strange because when Import in another empty project, user will end up with build errors. I understand that probable reason for this is that PLCOpenXML specification includes only "PLC" parts of the project (POU, PRG, variable lists, device ....), but not sure about it. Perhaps, there is some option to include visu objects also in the plcopen xml export list??

I have an SFC POU with an SFCReset Flag that I use to restart it from the beginning. It works properly. During an Action Step I set one variable to TRUE and I reset it to FALSE during the Exit Action. My question is if this Exit Action will be activated -and the variable reset to FALSE- if I get out of the active step using the SFCReset Flag.

Using a UNION instead of a STRUCT alone should give you that flexibility and only occupy memory once. And if you want to be really elegant, you could use an FB, which only holds PUBLIC VAR. Because a POU can use "EXTENDS"/inheritance. In CODESYS V3, an FB has a lot in common with C++ classes. Using ANY or ALIAS is rarely a good idea. It neither won't be pretty, nor have good readability and requires you to create a lot of error-prone things around it.

Hey! I am trying to generate a function block with properties from a list with script engine. Codesys/ScriptEngine creates both the Get and the Set accessor. I cannot find a way to delete the Set method/accessor. Hi, Has anyone managed to use the last four buttons in a POU toolbar in LD2? You can close and open by clicking from one small rectangle to another (same for deleting a closure //). Linking K to D causes a series connection with all the branches // above. Amazing! I don't really see the advantages of this supposedly modern and efficient language over the old LD/FBD. Can anyone explain?

I still cannot enable persistent manager for my project (and successfully login to a device). Project compiles with no errors but during download/login it fails with the fairly limited message "one or more errors occurred". The only clue I get from the system that this messages is displayed during "Generating code..: relocation pou". Any tips pointing me in a direction how to solve this very much appreciated!

I found a way to do it: You can use, for example, the text variable property of any visualization element and call a function in it. Example: Write a test POU as a function (FUN), like MyTestFun which need a boolean Variable as an input value. Now write into the text variable property: MyTestFun(bBooleanValue) Thats it. The function is called at each visu_task cycle.

I have not gotten to the bottom of this yet no. I have double check that the variables are correct linked. When online with the program I can see the button and rung going true for the move instruction, yet it does not change. Forcing the bit in the program does change the value in Groov View. I am kind of at a loss here, especially since the other POU(For the pumps) does the same thing fine.

Hello everybody I have two of these EtherCat CiA402 stepper driver from Leadshine: https://www.leadshine.com/product-detail/EM3E-556E.html I want to controll them. I already have implemented them in Codesys with Softmotion. I see the position, the velocity and the status word so I can read everything. See picture 1. But when I want to write something like MC_Power or MC_MoveAbsolut with the SM3_Basic library it wont work and with the MC_Reset POU it shows: "SMC_R_DRIVE_DOESNT_ANSWER". See picture 2. I am rather new to Codesys and I'm trying to figure out how to get the status of an alarm. This to interlock the start of a device until the alarm has been acknowledged... I am not sure if IAlarm.GetState (METH) can be used for this purpose.
