Hi, I'd like to share the list of gateways between different versions (and sandboxes) of Codesys IDE. I refer to the list that is managed in Device > Communication Settings (as described in https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_edt_device_communication_settings.html ) Can I export/import that list? I still cannot enable persistent manager for my project (and successfully login to a device). Project compiles with no errors but during download/login it fails with the fairly limited message "one or more errors occurred". The only clue I get from the system that this messages is displayed during "Generating code..: relocation pou". Any tips pointing me in a direction how to solve this very much appreciated!

Hello, I am writing to You with the problem of Profinet communication in my Codesys V2.5 SP21 project working on Codesys Control RTE V3 x64 device. I have implemented multiple Profinet devices in the network, the Profinet itself is configured properly, based on the hardware and software parameters of the industrial PC (Windows 10 IoT). My Profinet network contains such Profinet devices as a robot, IO-Link master with some devices on it, IO modules, safety, vision sensor (the configuration is attached to this topic). Once every few hours, sometimes more often, sometimes not even once a day, the error show up at one, two or a few random modules at the same time, every one is the same: "Station 'xyz': AR aborted by device (alarm.ind): AR consumer DHT expired". The communication is then lost with that module, but it is up instantly. It is not such a problem when it comes to regular IOs, but with safety or rotation table, it causes errors and machine stops. I have tried multiple solution based on any forum suggestions, manuals, etc., but it is still happening. Mabye when I turned on the Watchdog for this communication, it is happening less times, but still, I could not turning up the Watchdog parameters at the expense of cycle time of the process. The same is with Send Clock, Reduction and DHT. I have one of the ethernet port on the PC configured with CmpEt1000Drv driver. The card itself is Intel Ethernet Connection I219-LM. These devices are connected to one EKI-2728-NI-A Profinet switch (it was changed from the standard non Profinet one, but still nothing has changed). As I said ealier, I am attaching all the configurations for each device and the communication itself - if any of You had the same problems or have any ideas what could be the cause, I would be much gratefull for any help. When exporting a Logical Device or Logical Exchange GVL using the native XML export functionality of the CODESYS Script API, I encounter the following error upon re-import: "Error in IEnumeratorOfTWrapper. Current. Could not cast: System.String in System.Char" I am using CODESYS V3.5 SP21 Patch 2. Is there a known solution or workaround for this issue? Notably, importing the same XML file through the CODESYS Engineering IDE's menu import works without error.

Hello, I have an EtherNet IP adapter (GoPxL) running with a virtual PLC. I have successfully connected the adapter with green icons next to it. On WireShark I can see the data coming from GoPxL but on CODESYS it shows up as all 0. My firewall is turned off and I have enabled the device to always update variables. I tested my set up with Profinet and I can receive the data. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Ive got a project with 6 devices . Version 3.5.9.2 Now i change one to a other device 3.5.20.40 So i update the project to V3.5.20.4 Now i have a lot off faults in the canopendevices . Somehowe the first has no problem and seems that the canopenstackts stays in V3.5.9.2 the others in V4.2.0.0 But i cant put it back to 3.5.9.2 WHY ? And how can now witch one i can update and witch one not ?

An update note. Still using linux/Qemu. Still happy, but sometimes some things are harder. I lost the "bridge" connection to my VM (meaning for instance I couldnt "scan network" and find local units. Have spent tons of hours to find out why. Finally it seems the traffic got blocked by the firewall/iptables so needed to set rules for that. So friendly note that rules must allow forward traffic to/from you configured host bridge device.

Device: RPI 3b or 3B+ System: Wheezy Codesys: 3.5.16.2 I got the Log: 2023-12-13T00:38:43Z, 0x00000054, 2,6,11, !!!! Warning: Eventbuffer full for app=<app>Application</app>; an inputevent with the tag <tag>128</tag> has been dropped This log happens aroud 10 times a second. Sometimes the controller stopped working any more. What is the reason for this? I will update this controller soon (I hope so, but in the meantime I should at least know hoe to prevent this issue) Mario

Hallo, wie verhält es sich mit der Demo-Version und Datenübertragung z.B. via CAN-Bus. Der Bus läuft, das Device befindet sich im Zustand "Operational" aber es werden keine Daten von der Soft-SPS empfangen. Ich benutze aktuell eine nicht lizenzierte Version von CoDeSys Control for Linux ARM64SL. Normalerweise sollte die Demo-Version uneingeschränkt laufen - also kann ich davon ausgehen, dass es sich um einen Programmierfehler handelt oder ist die Feldbusfunktion ohne Lizenz doch in irgendeiner Form eingeschränkt verfügbar (außer dem 30 Minuten Limit nach Reboot)?

Hallo, für einen BacNet2 Server lassen sich mit zwei Ethernet Schnittstellen auch zwei Bacnet 2 IP Datalinks anlegen. Einen Datalink nutze ich für den UDP Port 47808 und einen für den UDP Port 47809. Dadurch ist der Server aus beiden Netzwerken erreichbar, was so gewollt ist. Allerdings verbindet er die beiden Netze auch miteinander, was zu Kommunikationsproblemen führt, da in beiden Netzwerken bereits gleiche Device ID's vergeben sind und diese sich dann doppeln. Lässt sich diese Verbindung der beiden Netze abschalten? Gruß Tim

Good morning, mecke96. Exactly the same thing happens to me, although I have not done the part of executing a .py file. It only reads the temperature and the counter, but the other values are zero as in your image "no readings". I have tested the MPU6050 device on an Arduino and it works. Could you tell me if you solved it?

Okey, thank you! Do you think it is something in this library, that makes it possible to do the configuration in a PRG? https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/IODrvEtherCATDriver/Current/IoDrvEtherCAT.html#id1 I think the codesys modbus libraries support configuration and connection to modbus slaves without having to add the slave devices in the device tree. Just do it from function blocks inside the program. I was hoping for something similar with EtherCAT.

I am rather new to Codesys and I'm trying to figure out how to get the status of an alarm. This to interlock the start of a device until the alarm has been acknowledged... I am not sure if IAlarm.GetState (METH) can be used for this purpose. Good morning, The problem I encounter is very disturbing, when I try to connect to my project, it asks me to put in my username and password, which I do. However, I cannot connect and it restarts. the window to rewrite my identifiers. However it is the correct identifier and password I do not understand why. When I try to put false identifiers there strangely it tells me that these are not valid identifiers. There is something what can I do? Sincerely

Didn't help. I'm just trying to understand why the errors occur. Are they from the poor driver or from the Linux network stack. That's why I wanted to know how the rxerros and lostframes are counted. Because in other places (like ethtool info) there are no any issues. And the Ethercat device works fine. And it also strange that on the second ethernet port with a different HW and driver Ethercat works better, but still time to time gets such errors.

Hello, I hv a problem. Couldn't solve this for 2 days now. So I'm quite new at CodeSys and I have to use the spi port x30 on the edgelogix rpi 1000. So what I have to do is just 'add device' at the SPI where I hv to pick the 'SPI master' after that I hv to change the parameters according to the edgelogix I did found in the spidev.h but nothing got updated so I 'add device' again where I pick the PiFace I/O Driver and I put my variables at the I/O Mapping, which i put the input startbit at the in part and led at the out part. I want to make the led blink according to my structured text code but somehow the hardware didn't connected with the CodeSys spi port. Nothing happens. Any idea what I have to do?

Good morning everyone. In my setup I am trying to use a couple of EL7041-0052 (the EL7041 variant without terminals for an encoder) to run stepper motors without feedback. When using the softmotion drivers for the EL7041 (Rev22 and Rev24, even selecting external feedback type doesn't work) the device log shows warnings for the corresponding hardware: "SDO write error 0x1 -> 0x8012:0x08 eError 0x1 AbortCode 0x6090011". 0x8012:0x08 is the register for the Feedback Type. My best guess was setting the the register value in the start parameters to zero, but the result is the same. What else can I try to get the hardware to work? I have screenshots attatched showing the running fieldbus and the log messages. EDIT: One clarification: the "device log" that shows the error is the PLC, not the ethercat terminal. The log of the terminal itself shows neither errors nor warnings. BR Robert

Hi guys. I've got a device that sends a status message over J1939 and a PLC running Codesys to receive it. This message uses a P2P PGN (as opposed to a broadcast PGN). Codesys can only read it if I mark the J1939_ECU as "Local" (see screenshot 1). The message is received correctly, that is not the problem. The problem is detecting if the message stops being received. Local ECUs have no Watchdog checkbox to detect if the message has been received in the last X seconds. In order to implement a watchdog, I've used a ReceiveWatchdog FB. The same code works well for any non-P2P message, but doesn't work for this particular P2P message I'm trying to monitor. Even if I physically disconnect the device, ReceiveWatchdog.xBusy stays True, and ReceiveWatchdog.xError never triggers due to a timeout error. Is there any caveat in the ReceiveWatchdog FB that makes it unable to monitor P2P PGNs in Local J1939_ECUs?

Hi, For a project I am using the trendmanager functionality, I changed the placeholder filepath to which the SQL database is saved to: home/disk_usb, $trend$. Which only works as long as the usb was mounted to the PLC at boot. However, I'd like to be able to switch the USB's out if they break or for data analysis. However when a new (or the same) USB is plugged back in the shortcut doens't exist on the device anymore. Also in the device directory under root/mnt/ a new folder appears SDB1 in addition to SDA1 to which the Trendmanager was originally writing. The SDA1 folder is empty/unreachable while the new SDB1 folder has the contents of the USB drive. I tried disabling the trendmanger while unplugging the USB's however this doesn't work. My question, how do I make it so that when I plug a USB drive back in, it will be mounted to SDA1 instead of SDB1? Kind Regards

Back in november I paused this, but wanted to reattempt using the persistent manager, the behavior is still the same. Most "login attempts" s are stopped with the message "One or more errors occurred" but I have no idea what that error might be. The only clue is this message is presented while the lower left status box says "Generating code...: relocation pou". For clarification. Build/Generate code is successful, no errors. Error appears when I try to download/login (physical or simulation) to a device. I did manage to login (in simulation mode) at one point, but then the error message "PersistenceChannel: Config file not found!". And no persistence files were created. I have done device-tree/reset-orgin also clean/clean all etc. Removed/re-inserted persistance manager. Behaviour is just the same. Removing Persistence Manage and everything is working OK. Is there possibly more info somewhere about the "One or more errors occured"-message?

I have done the switch (linux mint, virtual windows through QEMU/KVM) now and is generally pleased. Have had problems in two areas initially. To bridge IP to the Virtual unit (solved), I overthought things initially. Solution. Configure manually a bridge in the mint-"network connections". Use that bridge in the Qemu settings as "Bridge device", "Device name": "name of the configured bridge" Figure out where to store the projects. I started out have the data in linux world (sort of) and linking it the windows with "virtio-fs". That had some serious impact though on git-handling. It seems that virtio-fs interpreted any file-path as lowercase only even if there were uppercase, resulting in git not able to sync files between its repository and the source code (it created a new file-path for me with only lowercase). Then I switch to samba-share instead and this works much better, though (git-actions) is a part that still has low performance with lots of waiting for file-actions. What should be the best way of handling the source/git? Edit to answer myself: Save the project "locally" in windows, then a lot of slow performance is avoided. Then a git-remote sync for backup.

I have a main PLC with my CODESYS project on, including Web Visu. I also have a second device used for pump monitoring, all of this is displayed on a seperate HMI. I am looking at displaying the pump monitoring HMI on WebVisu so that I can solely use 1 HMI rather than having two. I can project the pump monitoring HMI into Chrome, and log in and it works fine. When I'm using the Web Browser element in Web Visu, enter my URL (device IP) it shows me the web page, but doesn't show me all of it. It uses parts of JavaScript for the login authenticiation and various other widgets. Similarly, I cannot get Youtube or Google to display on WebVisu either (possibily because of the same reason). Does anybody have any tips on how I can display the likes of Youtube or Google onto WebVisu so I can view it on my 7inch HMI (I suspect that if I can get Youtube or Google to work, then I will also be able to get my pump montitoring web page to work too).
