Did you check the communication with a sniffer ? (ex. Wireshark) to check if the holding get to zero by a wrong writing (client initialization?) o something else?

I need the same issue. In my application TCP server on raspberry (codesys) should have UnitID 1. But it only works when I am requesting with UnitID 255. And my application can't work with this parameters...

Thanks for the suggestion, I have tried it eagerly: I have updated all packages to latest version with Codesys Installer and installed newest runtime and gateway on Raspberry Pi. Unfortunately, the error is still there. As soon as I add the SM_Drive_Servo to the device tree, I get the error below when generating the code. Hello everyone, I am currently working with CODESYS Virtual Control for Linux running in Docker on a Debian virtual machine. I am deploying my application using Deploy Control SL, and in my project I am using the ModbusFB library to implement Modbus TCP communication. My setup is the following: I am trying to establish a Modbus TCP connection between a virtual PLC (CODESYS acting as Modbus TCP Client/Master) and a Siemens S7-1200 PLC acting as a Modbus TCP Server. From the Debian VM, I can successfully ping the S7-1200 and verify that port 502 is open using tools like nc. Network-wise, everything appears to be correct. However, when running the application in CODESYS, I receive messages such as “Demo mode for Modbus/TCP Master started. Will expire and stop!” and socket errors like “ClientSocket.UpdateStatus socket error 111 disconnecting.” The ClientTCP block from the ModbusFB library attempts to connect, but the connection does not remain stable. My main question is whether the CODESYS demo license explicitly limits or interrupts Modbus TCP Master communication. Is it expected that in demo mode the runtime will automatically close sockets after some time or prevent stable Modbus TCP connections? I would like to confirm whether this behavior is normal when using ModbusFB in demo mode, or if I should continue troubleshooting the configuration. Additionally, I would like clarification regarding the “fieldbus instances” mentioned in CODESYS licensing options (for example, 2, 4, or 16 instances). What exactly is considered one fieldbus instance? Does one Modbus TCP Client block count as one instance? Does each active connection to a different device count separately? Do Modbus TCP Master and Server count independently toward the total number of instances? Finally, I would appreciate clarification on any other practical limitations of demo mode when using industrial communication libraries such as ModbusFB. Are there limits on the number of connections, number of requests, or communication duration? I am trying to determine whether demo mode is sufficient for testing a virtual PLC communicating with a Siemens S7-1200 over Modbus TCP, or whether a full license is required even for this kind of validation scenario. We can give a chekclist on how to proceed: Fist, please recheck the communication settings in the OPC UA connection function block to ensure that the server URL, endpoint URL, and other settings are correct and match the configuration of the OPC UA server. Verify that the OPC UA server is running and accessible. -You can try to connect to the OPC UA server using a separate client, such as UAExpert, to ensure that the issue is not related to the OPC UA server itself. Test the security settings in the OPC UA connection function block to ensure that the correct security policy and certificate are selected. If you are using a dynamic connection to the OPC UA server, probe that the connection settings are correctly configured and that the OPC UA client is able to establish a connection to the OPC UA server. Also, please loock into the log files for any errors related to the OPC UA connection function block, these should be listet there. The log files may also provide additional information about the issue and help you to further troubleshoot the problem. Yep sure, though now that i think of it, its a pi 4. My bad. The whole ordeal was necessary to use the VGA666 adapter. That needs the old graphical system and GPIO directly on the CPU. Edit: Putty on the virtual development machine connects fine. But i did change the login/pw. The account is still a sudo'er so that should be all right. Edit2: Sorry i get a "Comment rate limit exceeded" from the forum. Then i'll add it as edit here. So i have tried the stock raspberry pi image on a different pi5 (truly 5 this time). Packages updated. Standard password. Same symptoms, no runtime deployed and long hang time. It seems that running CODESYS virtualized somehow messes with the deployment?

Hello, I’m working on implementing Modbus RTU communication with a Carel controller (CPCO). I want to use the front RS485 interface through the DB9 connector. The issue is that I can’t get the communication working correctly. Below are the steps I’ve done so far: Connected pins 3 and 8 from the DB9 connector to the +/- RX/TX terminals on the Carel side. In the PLC shell, I set serialmode to RS485. In WBM under Administration > Serial Interface > Assign owner of serial interface, I set the port to unassigned. In the device tree, I created Modbus_COM with the following settings: COM port: 1 Baud rate: 19200 Parity: None Stop bits: 1 Created a Modbus client on this COM interface in RTU mode. Under the status tab, I can see it is in running state. On the client, I created a Modbus server and set the Modbus address of my unit to 1. Defined a few channels as FC03 to read holding registers according to the Carel register map. I checked the communication with the Carel controller using a USB-to-RS485 converter connected to my PC, and communication works correctly there. In the status tab, I can see that the Modbus server is polling, but there is no response from the controller. I also tried multiple times swapping A/B lines on the Carel side, but it did not help. Do you have any suggestions on what else I should check?

Hello everyone, I have been given the task to develop I/O drivers for a custom made, Linux based board to allow for Codesys applications to run and control the hardware. I have successfully installed Codesys Control SL for ARM/Linux and tested it with a simple demo application. Now I should start interfacing the runtime to the actual hardware; I should be able to interact with 2 RS485 serial ports, a few GPIOs and an I2C port, all of which already have the corresponding /dev/ interface in the Linux system. I am having trouble understanding how it should be approached. I have found sporadic references that fail to lead to a really comprehensive documentation. For example: The store page (https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-control-for-linux-arm-sl-1.html#options) mentions a "runtime package" that should allow "Integration of existing C code" and "Usage of local I/Os", which seems exactly what I need to interact with custom peripherals. I have found no further reference to Codesys-C interpop. The Codesys Help page for the runtime package has a page on the "Development of Drivers" (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/rtsllinuxrbpdriverdevelopment.html) that suggests to either "Implement a function block" or "Implement I/O drivers". Those in turn lead to this page (https://forge.codesys.com/drv/io-drivers/doc/Generic/) which describes briefly an XML schema to describe new devices; unfortunately, it doesn't mention what to do with such a description (i.e. how does the runtime know about it) or how it is in any way connected to the actual hardware. Could anyone give me some pointers? I should also mention I have no prior experience with Codesys, so maybe I'm missing an obvious answer.

In general, drives have parameter sets to adjust behaviour in such cases: position recovery, adaptation with resistant torque, out-of-position window failure, etc. (Much depends on the type of configuration set for the axis: positioner, speed controller, torque controller, etc.). I have used that type of drive very little, in only two cases and a long time ago. To tell you what is normal is impossible. I know by reputation they are very simple objects, without too many pretensions and adjustments possible. Try running traces by monitoring actual position, motor current, torque and following error. These are the most sensible curves to understand what is going on. Maybe by fine tuning the motor tuning, the current controller or the speed controller you will get something closer to what you want. For example, from DS, the motor has a standstill torque of 3 Nm. Observe with traces whether this is effective: motor current trend. And afterwards, when you have your own accurate picture of the situation, you can also hear from the product's local support to see if you can steal a few more things from it performance-wise.

I'm using the JSON Utilities SL library to write configurations in my program to a file. I'm generating the JSON data using the builder function block and all appears to work correctly. When I write the jsondata to file, I'm finding that some of the JSON elements are not being written in the right location in the file. Rather than writing they keys under the parent object, they get written outside the root JSON object at the end of the file. If I then try to read the file back into the program, I get an invalid_structure error. I don't get any errors when populating the JSON data or when writing the file. I attached an example of the JSON writer output. The problems begin with key P200. Each P200 should go under MBR1 through MBR3. Among the rest of the keys, they are supposed to be under different parent objects. I am using default values for wsLineBreak and encoding.

I have a Modbus TCP slave device where I need to do sequential writes to the same register. The register I'm writing to is kind of like a command line, each packet is a command word encoded in Hexadecimal. I am having difficulty implementing this system in CoDeSys 3.5 SP19. I feel like the structure of the program should be something along the lines of (Pseudocode): ModbusTCPSend(Command Register, Command1) ModbusTCPSend(Command Register, Command2) ModbusTCPSend(Command Register, Command3) I have tried to implement this with a rising edge trigger wMot1OPCode := 16#E1; //Stop Motor & Kill Program xMot1SendOP := TRUE; //Send OP on rising edge xMot1SendOP := FALSE; //Reset wMot1OPCode := 16#9E; //Disable Motor xMot1SendOP :=TRUE; //Send OP on rising edge xMot1SendOP := FALSE; //Reset Where "wMot1OPCode" is the IO map for writing to the command register, and "xMot1SendOP" is the rising edge trigger for that modbus channel. However, this doesn't work. The device never responds to the modbus commands. It seems like the trigger variable is switched too quickly for modbus to send the packet. I know the modbus register is working, because I can set the channel to cyclic and the device will respond. However, I can't use this reliably because I need each command to be sent once, in order. Cyclic keeps re-sending the commands and seems like it could miss a command as well if one was sent in-between cycle time. I have also trying using the Application trigger as described by https://faq.codesys.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=24510480, but this is also not working for me. See attached picture for my FBD code. This seems like a simple function, I can't tell what I'm doing wrong here. Thanks for the help.
