Here is a complete list of the Sequent Microsystems Pi hats that work in Codesys. https://github.com/SequentMicrosystems/SM_CODESYS/tree/main/ "For easy install download the .package file and open it on your computer, Codesys installer will know what to do with it." <- This. The Multi I/O Hat fit my needs because of the Analog I/O 4-20ma and RTD. I used a Raspberry Pi 5 and 64b install. The example project is also worth the download. With the sample project open, right click on the Raspberry Pi device and update to whatever you are using (SL, MC, 64b). Enable I2C on the PI. You can jumper the hats Analog Outputs to Inputs and see it function on the Web Visualization. Very Cool! I spent quite a bit of time trying to find this solution so hopefully this update helps others. Hello everyone, I wanted to write here because it is a similar and the most up-to-date topic. I want to connect to CoDeSys Win V3 x64 - 3.5.19.50 with OPC UA using WinCC Advanced V17. (Or to a PLC with CoDeSys Version 4.10.0.0) My settings are exactly the same as the previous comment. I even tried many different settings. I can access all CoDeSys OPC UA variables via TIA Portal IDE and add them to my HMI tags. When WinCC RT Advanced is started, it gives a warning that the connection could not be established and does not update the variables. I can connect to Inovance AM600 using CoDeSys Target version 3.5.11.50. (The same version Win x64 is also connected.) However, a security setting in the current versions prevents me. I would be very happy if those who have up-to-date experience on this issue and find a solution share it. The CoDeSys Security Settings which I can access variables with TIA Portal: CommunicationPolicy: POLICY_BASICSHA256SHA256 CommunicationMode: ALL Activation: Activated UserAuthentication: ENABLED Server Certificate: Valid until 2034 Greetings.

I have a WAGO PLC, to which I am establishing a connection. Here I use the autodiscover to register the connected modules. Now, I have tested the in-/outputs of the different modules, to verify they are consistent with how they are physically connected to the PLC in regards to how CODESYS has numbered them. Will CODESYS always number the modules closest to the PLC itself lowest, and the one furthest away, the highest? I am rather new to the program, so I both hope my question makes sense, as well as not being completely obvious. Thanks!

I am definetly not an expert in this field, but it does seem like you need a propper API key in the URL. Right now you are using the token 'ANWB' in your URL, which the website returns an error, since this is not valid. Somehow you first need a propper API key. I hope that makes sense.

I am running CODESYS V3.5 SP19 Patch 2 (64-bit) I have buttons that are supposed to be either red or green depending on status. When I am logged out the colors look right. When I am logged in and running the colors are completely different and I can't understand why.

Hello, Is it possible to get the string returned from the ENUM JSONType? I read that with regular enumerations you can add '{attribute 'to_string'}' and access it. However, this is from the compiled library, so I can not add that attribute. When I try to use TO_STRING(JSONType) it returns the integer as a string. Ex. jsonType :=TO_STRING(pJSONData^._aJSONData[i].eType); gives '8' instead of NONE Thanks!

Hello everyone, i'm having some problems commanding AS1060 step motor with EL7041 (rev22) drive. With motor i've also the incremental encoder (05.2420.1230.0200.5009). I can correctly move the motor in "Position controller" operating mode with the internal counter. The problems start when i set the Encoder in feedback type or i change the operating mode. Does anyone have experience with these two terminals and can give me some advice of main parameters to check or change? Thanks everyone

Hi all I found that in the last Ethercat master release (4.8.0.0) the Mailbox Gateway feature has been added. This would be useful for me to connect to a specific slave in my system, since its configuration software supports this type of gateway communication. Anyway I don't find usage information or examples. At the moment I tried to enable it in the ethercat master device settings and I configured with an IP address on the subnet of the ethercat adapter (i.e. ethercat nic configured with static ip 192.168.10.100 subnet 255.255.255.0, mailbox gateway configured to 192.168.10.30). I expected it would have responded to ping commands on the address but nothing happens. I am missing something?

Post by hyys12 on Help understanding analog in-/outputs
CODESYS Forge

Hello. I am currently working on a WAGO PLC, where I am trying to wrap my head around how the analog inputs and outputs work in codesys. I have looked far and wide on the internet, for a general introduction to the whole concept, but I have not had any luck with finding anything that helped me understand it better. The whole goal is for me to be able to read an analog input from a temperature sensor, as well as using an analog output, to control a frequency inverter. I know these have nothing to do with each other, but that is all I have on hand right now. I am trying to program this using Ladder Diagram. The only thing is, that every video/guide I have seen/read using LD, just adds a whole lot of function blocks, to do all kinds of stuff they don't explain. My general question is, how would one go ahead and read the analog input, as well as transmit an analog output? Is there some kind of specific function block I would have to use for this, or some great video I can watch, to understand the inner workings. Is it somehow possible to see the values the PLC recieved/sends? Regards.

Hello, Codesys team, please can I have an explanation? It's frustrating and complicated on production machines to have to reload the entire program even though it's identical, just because of this missing information. How the information 'Download time' is saved?

I would say that I kind of got an explanation though this document on the WAGO PLC. https://techdocs.wago.com/io-system/750_753/system/en-US/index.html#92248203

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
