Hello all, I would like to store some data in text file. I use the soft PLC Win V3x64, on Windows 10. I use the SysFile Library 3.5.17.0. If I store the file directly in the in the directory of the PLC i.e. in '/CODESYSControlWinV3x64/E1FA7ABE/PlcLogic/LogAU.txt' the file is correctly filled with the data. However, If I use an absolute path to a different directory no data is stored in the respective file. Despite the fact that the respective file exists and the Filehandler is correctly opened (see in picture _fdSysFHandle <> -1). // sFileName : STRING := 'LogAU.txt'; // STORES FILE IN ../CODESYSControlWinV3x64/../PlcLogic/LogAU.txt' sFileName : STRING := 'C/Temp/LogAU.txt'// DOES NOT WORK --------------------- // FILE DESCRIPTOR _fdSysFHandle := SysFile.SysFileOpen( szFile:= sFileName,am:= SysFile.AM_APPEND,pResult := ADR(_Result)); Does some have an idea where the problem is, resp. how I can get store a file in an arbitrary directory. Unfortunately not. The folder does not work. There are neither error messages nor any other indication that this may be due to missing rights. I have searched the entire forum and also tested the Codesys example. The simple recipe management generally does not work! The Raspi crashes with the extended recipe management from the example. I have now found another sample that works. https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/61c6a04b79/ Many thanks to mcodem. After some trial and error I have found out: xcreate must be called at least once at runtime. After that xload_write and xread_save work All other functions do not work. It is also possible to save to the /home/Documents folder. So it is not due to the rights. It would be nice if Codesys would check where the problem really lies.

Hi, I was hoping I could send the two files "application.app" and "application.crc" directly to the directory "/home/codesys/PlcLogic/Application" instead of logging into the device with codesys, downloading the program to the controller and then do the "create boot application", so it will reboot with the correct program running. I think i also need to edit the file "eRUNTIME.cfg" located in the "/home/codesys/ folder, because when I create the boot application from the codesys IDE, these lines are added to the file: [CmpApp] Application.1 = Application [SysFileMap] /home/codesys/PlcLogic/Application/Application.app=0x212520, 0x2DBC747E, 2DBC747E.app I think the "eRUNTIME.cfg" file is the same as CODESYSControl.cfg I also dont know the purpose of the hexadecimal numbers etc. that is generated. When I tried to replicate what codesys was doing, I placed the same files in the same folder as when codesys generated the boot file. And also added the lines in the eRUNTIME.cfg file: [CmpApp] Application.1 = Application [SysFileMap] /home/codesys/PlcLogic/Application/Application.app The controller did not boot up with any program, so my method did not work at all. I guess these lines tells the controller to run an application and where to find it? Could any of you help me with the best way to get the compiled program to the controller without using codesys or wago-software?

By using the CAA FILE library (FB FILE.Open) (raspberry pi, codesys 3.5.19.0) I always get the error FILE_OPERATION_DENIED The file exist, it has r/w/x access and path is correct... Some idea to fix it?

I think that the .err file is the .app file renamed by Codesys, so it is compiled. We met this behaviour one time, it was because the runtime goes in exception due to bad Ethercat cables.

Hello, if I try to use ERR_Ok in my code to check whether the file is open correctly or not, I get an error "Identifier ERR_OK not recognized", I can use plain 0 (zero) instead. Since version 19 they changed how file access is handle. There are two solutions: 1. You change where the file is stored (need to go to: /PlcLogic/) 2. You can, if you don´t want to store at PlcLogic, add the following line in the CODESYSControl.cfg under [SysFile]: ForceIecFilePath=0 The CodesysControl.cfg is at C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\xxPROJECT_NUMBERxx\ Here the email they sent me: "with the 3.5.19 Version we changed how files are handled. I have now renamed my recipe to Parameter and now use SaveRecipeAs. The correct folder is displayed in the dialogue box, but the recipe is not saved. What could be the reason for this, write permissions? Recipe manager buggy?

I've workaround it by not using an array but 30 instances of the struct and putting these in the recipe, and then using converter functions to save and load
