Hello, I am experiencing difficulties in configuring a CANopen device by sending SDOs. In particular I am attempting to write an Object Dictionary that has VISIBLE STRING as the Data Type. When I try to configure the sending of an SDO from Codesys to configure this parameter I am not allowed to enter a string value. In my particular case I am trying to change the Manufacturer Device Name ( Index 0x1008 ). Could it be that Codesys doesn't manage these types of variables?

Update: I started over. I saved progress at each step. all compiled zero errors, zero warnings. Pre-processor messages remain, but I can make progress. Until I try to re- load the project file in Codesys. Re-loaded files error as above when compiled, even though they compiled error-free immediately before saving. Is my installation borked? (Not easy to re-install due to IT madness...)

I ran into a problem. Uploaded an example (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_uacapi_example.html) After launch. on the emulator. I see that I am having problems: - UaExpert does not connect. There are many servers but no connection. - I can’t transfer the certificate from quarantine to trusted ones. There is some problem with creating the certificate. CS 19.2. If anyone has had similar problems, please give me advice. Thank you.

I'm looking to automatically select a text field element in my visualization. I'm not sure if this is possible, as I don't know how to get the data on specific elements. I am wanting automatic selection of the text field, as I am using a keyboard-input barcode scanner, which should always input the barcode into the text field whenever a barcode is scanned. Does anyone know if this can be done?

I think I need to read up on why this happened. I understand that placeholders should point to a particular version for obvious reasons however what has occurred in this instance is different. The example project was released as a "project archive" but it seems to load differently based on what I've got installed in my repositories. I'm going to dig into that tomorrow but any advice is welcome.

Hello, I am using an Inovance PLC to control a servo via EtherCAT. When I enable MC_POWER, the drive switches to Run mode successfully. After that I call MC_MoveRelative, but I get the error SMC_FB_WASNT_CALLED_DURING_MOTION. The servo vibrates but the motor shaft does not move. I am new to EtherCAT/servo motion control, so I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions for troubleshooting this issue. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello, Coming from robotics, I'm used to coordinate systems using the right-hand rule. But when I created below small NC program in the Codesys CNC editor, I noticed that the axis triad's Z-axis is flipped (see attached screenshot), resulting in left-hand rule. Hi bertus, the coordinate systems used in SoftMotion CNC are all right-handed. The CNC editor uses isometric projection. This can be confusing, as in your example. The y-axis seems to point into the screen, away from the viewer. However, this is just an optical effect. If you turn on the (experimental) perspective projection (must be added to the CNC tool bar using tools->customize), you can see that the coordinate system is in fact right-handed. Do you have any additional information about when the error occurs? I am trying to recreate this issue to find a workaround... Maybe you could also make the project available. Hello I am using an OpusA3 with version 3.5 SP17 Patch 3 as part of a project. I had no real problem before I encountered a problem that blocked me. The detection of the OpusA3 from Codesys is done correctly. The gateway is well configured and if I ping the gateway or the OpusA3 I receive the response correctly. The problem is that when I try to connect, the Opus screen freezes and a few moments later Codesys displays an error message ("connection to device closed"). I tried to change PC, to update the runtime, to change OpusA3 but the problem remains the same. I'm a little lost knowing that before it worked without problem. I went back to a previous version of the project (where it worked correctly) but the message still appears. Do you have any clues to solve the problem? Sincerely,

What are the limitations of the OPC UA Server? I am trying to get data off my PLC that is acquired at high rates (~50k samples/s) so I am storing them in arrays and trying to get the arrays off the PLC. When I attempt to read a ~200k element array through OPC UA the server and runtime crashes (requiring tools -> update linux arm64 -> start runtime). Is there a better way to get highspeed data off? The ACDatalog library seems a bit irritating to use so I would prefer to go through OPC UA.

Reading the file "codesyscontrol.log" I see these logs OPC UA Server Started: Hostname: NTLRPICTRL01, Port: 4840 URL: opc.tcp://NTLRPICTRL01:4840 Loopbackadapter activated. **All available networkadapters are used.** Multithreading activated. 3 workers used. My controller, which is a Linux PC, has got two network cards eth0 and eth1 I whant to use the card with name "eth0" as a server for OPCUA and keep the "eth1" free for other stuffs. Is it possible ? Hi, I am quite new to Codesys and I try to do a Profinet connection to an Siemens PLC (315-2DP) with CP343-1 Lean Modul. I already configured the Siemens PLC, exported the GSDML. Then I added a new project in Codesys, added following moduls: - Ethernet - PN_Controller - Imported Profinet Device via GSDML importer When I start the programm everything looks fine but I always get the message "Stopped Profinet" and no data is available This is only for a small test. Therefore I start to do that on a Windows 10 with Development System. Later I will try to realize this on Raspberry. Ethernet Adapter is configured (192.168.1.1 / 24) Firewall deactivated WinPCap is installed S7-Station seems to be found ('fuadazenzitest') Can please somebody help me?

Hi all, for a deeper understanding of the Codesys RTE - I created a simple application with 3 IEC tasks (Ta,Tb,Tc) each with different priorities, and different cycle times. The application runs on Windows 10 in the Soft PLC CODESYS Control Win V3. If my understanding is correct, the RTE i.e. the Process CodesysControlService should spawn 3 threads (Th_a,Th_b,Th_c) which are executed with the defined cycle times, the priority of the threads should reflect the priority of the task set in the Codesys IDE. Does somebody have an idea, how I could identify the respective threads in Windows? Kind regards Andrej

Hello :) We are currently configuring a system with Codesys as SoftPLC on a Linux system and with Beckhoff terminals. I have already gained some experience with Codesys and also with TwinCat incl. TwinCAT Safety. What is new to me now is Codesys in conjunction with Beckhoff safety terminals. We are currently using an EL1918 & EL2904 here. I have been able to integrate both terminals into my project, but I don't know how to interconnect them so that they communicate. That's a bit easier with Twincat ^^ Can any of you help me? I would also prefer a Codesys EtherCAT Safety training or webinar if anyone knows of one. Unfortunately I can't find such an event on the internet.

Hallo everyone, I am working on new PLC of Weidmueller that uses Codesys SP19. I made the upgrade at the Patch 4 coming from patch 0. Unce made the upgrade everything is working well in the progect except the web visu user menagent. In the new version, when I perfom the login, I cannot use the keyboard of the device; the window where to digit the user name and password opens, the buttons "OK" and "Cancel" work but the system doesn't allow to put input from the device keybord, the mouse behaves as it is an image. If I active the virtual keypad or numpad it works otherwise nothing. I am wondering if it is a bug of the new package or if I must set something else. Thanks in advance, Riccardo.

Hello, I'm working on setup a CAM table by using the Codesys CAM Editor. My purpouse is to obtain a quadratic velocity ramp with jerk limitation motion profile, for which i define the accel/decel phases with Poly5 segment type, but the problem is that due to the fact i can "only" adjust until the acceleration, and the jerk is always setup to 0, and i cannot change the jerk values, i cannot achieve the desired results, as i need to generate jerk steps. Is there any way it can be achieved with the editor, or maybe by using PLC runtime code? Thank you in advance for your help BR, Jordi Morito

I would figure out, how to create a simple html webpage with 2 frames. One frame with buttons to select the plc. A second frame with hyperlink to the webvisu of the plc ("XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:8080/webvisu.htm"). Selecting other PLC Button has to change the hyperlink in 2. frame. Costs only some time to figure out :-) Or setup a raspberry Pi with small visualization. Set up a button for each plc and add one browser element. Each button writes the URL of the depending plc to the URL setting of the browserelement. Costs 55€ for runtime licence and a Raspberry Pi.

Hi, I'm currently reading and writing several registers with a Modbus TCP server as a subdevice of a Modbus TCP Client. If I read and write cyclically, there are no issues. The problem is this: I see there is also the option to write by "Application", which I would like to use. However, I don't know With the Modbus RTU client, I see there is a trigger variable, xTrigger, to trigger the writing tasks. However, I can't find any such trigger for the Modbus TCP Client. Does anybody know how to implement the trigger behavior for the Modbus TCP client? In particular, I struggle to find the exact "trigger" variable. I'm running Modbus Client version 4.4.0.0 Thanks in advance!

I want to extract each element of an Array. Can someone help me with this. When I use JSONElementToString (part of JSON Utilities SL), I am seeing output as "ARRAY" instead of actual data.
