Hello all, I am facing issues with using SysCom library. With SysCom23 library things were simple but since we are migrating to 64bit systems, I am writing a Porting program. With SysCom23, opening the comport was as simple as providing the ComPort no. which returns the Handle as a DWORD. dwHandle:=SysComOpen(Port); But the new library is a bit different. It is asking for 2 input parameters to open the Com Port - Port Number and POINTER to RTS_IEC_RESULT IF hCom = 0 THEN hCom := SysComOpen(ComSettings.sPort, ADR(pResult)); How should I use the RTS_IEC_Result? I can find RTS_IEC-REUSLT under SysType2Interfaces of SysCom library. Also, can someone give me a general understanding of this RTS_IEC_REULT and RTS_IEC_HANDLE, etc.?

In the ScriptingEngine documentation there seems to be an error (or missing information) in the ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer part ( https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/ScriptingEngine/ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer.html#ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer.ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer ). The description of the function create_pou() doesn't specify the correct arguments requested, it only says create_pou(type: SpecialPouType) and a script using the documentation definition of the function will raise an error. I tried passing the function arguments similar to the ones specified for the create_dut() function and it seems to work fine: create_pou(name, PouType) , name : str UPDATE: The offline help has the correct definition IExtendedObject<IScriptObject> create_pou( string name, PouType type = PouType.FunctionBlock, Nullable<Guid> language = null, string return_type = null, string base_type = null, string interfaces = null )

Hello, we have aproblen to connect our CODESYS OPC Client to the OPC Server. We installed the client according the CODESYS manual. We can browse the server and variables can be linked to the PLC. I created a self signed certificate for the CmpOPCUAClent as described. The server has a cerificate also. I copied the certificates to the trusted zone of server and client. But when it comes to data exchange we get an error message. "Communication error in data source OPC UA Library. Error ID : 7001 German : "Kommunikatinsfehler inder Datenquelle OPC UA -Bibiothek. Es wurde kein genauer Fehler angegeben. Fehler ID : 7001" It semms that there is no cerificate exchange. We are working with CODESYS 3.5 SP19 Patch 5. Can anyone here say something about this error or has an idea for a solution? Thanks.

Hi, I have installed different versions of Codesys, 3.5.7 - 3.5.8 - 3.5.16 - 3.5.19. When I create a project in Codesys 3.5.16 and I try to open an instance of Codesys Control Win V3 x64 it always open version 3.5.19, so appear a message windows about versions of devices are different. I have tried to open it from the installation folder and always open the last version 3.5.19 C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.16.0\GatewayPLC C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.19.70\GatewayPLC Does somebody know how to open an specific version of Codesys Control Win V3?

From this array, I need to foram LREAL number, however, because of different endiannes I need to reverse bytes in this array and then copy to a LREAL variable. For this I'm using a loop and it works OK. I wonder if there is a built in function to do this. I have found CAA Memory library but it has functions like reverse bytes in DWORD. Hi Everybody, I'm looking for a simple way of comparing two array of a structure. My structure is define like this : TYPE Positions_T : STRUCT PosX: DINT; PosY: DINT; PosZ: DINT; END_STRUCT END_TYPE I have multiples Var : ARRAY [0..220] OF Positions_T, that I need to compare quickly. I don't really want to do a Loop that goes by every 220 points and compare each one of them so I was wondering if there is another way. I came accross the MEM.Compare function, but it require to know the size in Bytes of the memory, and I don't know how to do that... Has anybody an idea on how to do the comparing easily ? Now i am running to problem, when i create instances and i want them to appear directly under the object directory, However, it always appear with me under Objects >> Device set >> Device Name in CODESYS. I need to know how i can change the directory of my instances 'inst_3' and so on. So they can be under objects directly. I tried to modify the settings, but couldn't find any leads till now. Hi there, I have a Keyence bar code reader connected to my plc through Ethernet/IP. The Bar code is 20 digits long (like 30100790020493036016), the scanner reads it correctly (I can verify that through the keyence software) but when it sends it through ETH/IP, it doesn't fit into a 64 bit variable and it trunks the data.(I've tried ULINT and LWord without success). When I loaded the EDS file, the read variable was defined as a byte with 128 bits length, which is quite strange for me. (see attached picture) How do I manage this variable? Thanks!

I want to implement an extended I2C master for Raspberry Pi Control. I was hoping for it to be as easy as creating a library with a FB that extends i2cMaster and associating it with a device following the forge drivers documentation, but I haven't managed to make it work as the driver behaves only as an i2c slave. I'm thinking this is because the forge forum only talks about extending i2c, and the master portion is omitted since most users won't want to add a custom one. I'd like to know if I'm doing something wrong. Is it really possible to make an I2C master extension device? If so, are there public examples we can check out? Any info on this topic will be appreciated.

Hi everyone, I need some help with displaying an image (test.png) on my device. Initially, showing the image is straightforward. However, I want to be able to update the image dynamically. My goal is to send updated files via FTP to the device, and have the display automatically show the latest version of the image. All images will be sent with the same name (e.g., test.png). Currently, I can see the updated image after sending it via FTP and performing a warm restart, but I'd like to achieve this in runtime, without having to restart the display or application. Does anyone have suggestions on how to implement this? Thanks in advance!

Hi All, I use the analysis page in automation server to capture historical trends from my PLC - i only sample one point per hour but it does the job (for now) One issue I have is I often log on to analysis page to find the system has stopped recording trends from my PLC. To fix this, I need to choose "state information" in the "List view" under PLC and click "Reconnect" When I do this I see my variables listed under "parameters" under "PLC Details" start updating again and the trend in Data analyzer continues to update. My Question, Why do I need to manually reconnect? Is there a way to get automation server to automatically reconnect to the PLC so I continue to capture data from the PLC? Regards, Trent

It seems you have 2 network interfaces. Did you try eth1? Did you already configure the IP address for this interface in Linux? If yes, then maybe undo this. - or only set eth0 in the Nic configuration without anything else (so no IP address, because this is already set in Linux). For more information about the Nic settings, see (probably already read it?): https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_obj_deploy_control_sl_configuration.html PS, if you only want to run CODESYS Control SL, you don't necessarily need the Virtual PLC variant. You could also install and run the CODESYS Control SL Runtime in the Host operating system. This way you should also be able to access the serial port and directly access all ethernet ports. Maybe this is easier?

Dear all, does anyone have experience with HTML5 controls recently? CODESYS 3.5.20.30 / Visualization 4.6.0.0 I'd like to create a simple lightweight text editor, with proper multiline handling, cut & paste, scrolling, etc. And it seems to work fine, just have problems with strings longer than 80 bytes.... Declaring a variable sText1 : STRING(8000) and referencing it in the HTML5 Controls corresponding value property works perfectly one way: the code receive the data as a string (See log1)... (Note TypeID 1000...) Also sending back the data (seems to work (See log2) except it doesn't change the value of the bound variable. Probably the issue is with using SendSimpleValue method... Naturally, I could do a workaround, but maybe there is a more standard way to implement this... Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Hello, I would like to know if there is a PROFIdrive layer in CODESYS. I am already familliar with Codesys's SoftMotion on CANOpen/EtherCAT (to control PLC Open FBs), and I need the same kind of stuff for PROFINET-IO devices; In my configuration, I have a CIFX board from Hischer to enable IRT, the SoftPLC "Codesys Control RTE V3 x64", and a servo-drive from INFRANOR that implements PROFINET / PROFIdrive (with IRT) protocol. CODESYS introduced many cyber security related changes over the last few years, one of them is to restrict file access. By default, file access is restricted to the PlcLogic folder and subfolders of the CODESYS control runtime of version 3.5.19.0 and newer. For Control Win this would be the folder C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\xxxxxxxx\PlcLogic\ To enable access to other folders, you can configure additional paths by adding them to the file CODESYSControl.cfg. For example: [SysFile] FilePath=C:/temp/test FilePath.1=C:/Users/Public You should now be able to access your file in C:\temp\test\ or in C:\Users\Public

Hi, I tried some different libraries (CmpApp etc.) to find some global variables that I could read out as a variable in the codesys environment. Do any one of you know which libraries are best suited for this, and how I can read it out? My goal is to send messages, warnings etc. to the system that communicates to the PLC. Currently if something goes wrong I need to see the logfiles, or go online with the controller. I think I could save a lot of time if I could read the errors from our user interface that is connected to the PLC by TCP/IP.

Hi, I'm wondering if it exist a button or a keyboard shortcut (much much better) for "collapse all" the open folder on a codesys project. It would really be nice to have. Also: Are there some options or configuration for set a default zoom for the different editor (or even one global), for example I would like to have 100% on ST, LD editor and have 80% on Visualization Editor; and also have a button to set all the zooms to default, now it seems that every file mantain the one previously set. I'm working with the 3.5.20.10 right now Thanks!

Hello, Maybe someone could help with this. When I add ENUM to a text field I get the number instead of the text. For my own ENUM variable I have declared and enabled text list value is displayed as text, but I need enum text displayed from softMotion and other internal FB's. In the picture I have one of desired ENUM variable setup, but in the visu I have number, but in the watch window it's text. There is probably some checkbox to tick, but was looking for an hour, can't find a solution. Would apreciate some help

@imdatatas, thanks for the info, I increased DSP402.uiHomingMinCycles to 10 and have a good feeling that will solve the issue of "false" homings. It's an intermittent issue so I'll report back once it's confirmed. @bruno-roth, also good info. According to my documentation, bit 14 is used to indicate the homed status. I did a test and the bit always stays true after it's been homed once (eg. even if I initiate a new homing procedure then hit the the e-stop mid homing), so I need to take that into consideration, but I can work with that. I am looking to read in the absolute position of a yaskawa servo drive Sigma 7 that is using absolute encoder. It looks like yaskawa outputs this across there CN1 I/O connecter and during operation just outputs encoder pulses. But at boot up transmits the Multiturn data position and the Position within one rotation (pulse train) on two different wires. Once the drives are enabled it just uses incremental pulses. Does any one have experience with what IEC blocks to use to read this information in. I attached the Yaskawa Manual section that talks about the format.

Hello. I am using codesys 3.5. I would like to know if it is possible to set a variable to an output without declaring in. I have defined a STRUCT and within this struct I have a Struct for inputs called I and a struct for outputs called O. I have declared a variable of the type of this Struct, I would like to set or alias the value in this variable to an input/output value of an IO block that has a module on the ethernet tree. Is it possible to copy the contents of %IW0 -> STRUCT.I ? The size of both of these is 2 bytes. I understand that I can declare a variable with the input like Input01 AT %IX0.0 : BOOL; However how can I make STRUCT.I.D00 AT %IX0.0? Is this possible? Thanks

I got this working using OPC UA. In the logic application I just added a Symbol Configuration. In the HMI application I added a Data Sources Manager and OPC UA Data Source. The one thing I don't like is the way the tags end up being named in the HMI application. In the logic application I have a program named PLC_PRG. It has a variable named testDINT. In the logic application the name I get for this variable is DeviceSet.CODESYS_Control_Win_V3_x64.Resources.Logic.Programs.PLC_PRG.testDINT. This is very long and looks like it could change if I used this on a different device type. Any ideas how I could get this name shortened down to just PLC_PRG.testDINT like it is on the Logic application?
