Hello, this error occured frequently over the past couple of weeks. I found out, when adding a webvisu, CODESYS added Visu libraries in the library manager. One of the libraries was the "VisuElemsAlarm" library. In my case it added this one with the version 4.3.0.0. However another library that also contained the "VisuElemsAlarm", used the "VisuElemsAlarm" with the version "4.4.0.0". After changing the Version "4.4.0.0" and uninstalling this version, the error has not occured anymore. Regards, carohe

It's good that you've found a workaround. But it's bad that you need one. The array length auf my struct is 16. My struct also contains other arrays of structs. It contains a total of 1716 variables. I have tested saving and loading extensively under version 4.3.0.0. It looks good. I couldn’t find any problems. Maybe it helps to reinstall the update (see previous post). Otherwise you could try my test project (first post). This should work with version 4.3.0.0.

Hi All, I use the analysis page in automation server to capture historical trends from my PLC - i only sample one point per hour but it does the job (for now) One issue I have is I often log on to analysis page to find the system has stopped recording trends from my PLC. To fix this, I need to choose "state information" in the "List view" under PLC and click "Reconnect" When I do this I see my variables listed under "parameters" under "PLC Details" start updating again and the trend in Data analyzer continues to update. My Question, Why do I need to manually reconnect? Is there a way to get automation server to automatically reconnect to the PLC so I continue to capture data from the PLC? Regards, Trent

Yes, I tried to do what you put in the first code. However, I have a problem with that and that is that the inputs must be declared with the type. I have many data types running in my code (real, int, uint, bool) and I can't put them in the same function, another thing is that I need to instantiate that function for everything I want to write to the slave. You put a for to 200 but it means that it has to be the same data type and inside the array, but I want to get them individually. I'm struggling to do it in a good and efficient way like wago's E-cockpit does. in the first screenshot you can see, you simply type in value, change the package of things you want to write in value change and it does everything by itself automatically, without comparing any old and new values and even less having the need to activate a bool. , it is perfect.

Hello everyone. Raspberry Pi CM4 after some 1 week of work was hard reset mannualy several times and after these hard resets User Management file was missed (when click login button, enter login/password, error: User Management File missed). Also programm can not open file via SysFile library, but this file exists and size of him is 0 bytes, but must be more any way (I keep some kind of archive via this lib). What happens, how files corrupted? Where do I need try to find this error of the codesys or system whole? In the log files of codesys nothing interesting about this happens. Thanks for reading Is this enough hold PlcLogic and SysFileMap.cfg as reserve copy in another place for restoring the programm? And how automate restoring actions if programm files corrupted?

You cannot create an array of Programs. Create a Function Block for this purpose instead of a program. You can create an array of FB instances and call each instance in a loop.

I am trying to create an icon on an overview screen that depicts if an alarm group has active alarms, active acknowledged alarms, or inactive unacknowledged alarms (waiting for confirmation). I've attempted to set up Notification Actions in the Alarm Class to set variables based on state changes but have been unable to find a clean and effective way to do this. Because an action on any alarm will trigger the variable to be set as instructed, I'm struggling to find a way to configure it for what I need (ie if two alarms activate, then one deactivates, the variable for indicating an alarm is active would be cleared after the single deactivation). I've been pointed toward the Alarm Manager example project but I'm finding it too complicated to understand how to implement it in my own project. Has anyone come up with another good way to indicate the states of alarms or a simpler usage of the Alarm Manager functions?

Hi I am trying to use STRUCT to parse commands from Modbus/TCP, Modbus client will fill the bytes related to a specific command (type, parameters), then PLC (Codesys) will access the command parameters. A STRUCT will simplify a lot the process of parsing the data, so I don't need to parse byte per byte, address will be mapped to a struct and I can use it for parsing the data. From what I understood, the compiler does not allow me to specify the location of the struct for a %MW register. VAR_COMMAND AT %MW1002: structGenericModbusCommand; This will throw: Bad declaration, use '%ML' for 'structGenericModbusCommand' variable But If I change it to %ML, when you go online you see that it is actually allocating the struct in another memory address. When we go online, on GVL we can see: VAR_COMMAND. structGenericModbusCommand %ML1002 commandType COMMANDTYPE %MB8016 ... %MB8020 I am not specifying a pointer or a reference it is a struct type, why is it mapping to a %MW location (random one). How can I control where it is mapping to? I need a consistent way to map STRUCT to specific modbus address. Is it possible? I have a version of codesys 3.5.16 on my local machine and a vm. The local machine has loads of codesys versions and libraries installed etc. I can open the FPosCR_Example_Project_SP16_patch1 project on my vm without any errors. On the local machine I get the error C0077: unknown type IoDrvEthercatLib.ETC_CO_SdoWrite. I can, on the local machine, declare a var of type IoDrvEthercatLib.ETC_CO_SdoWrite and include it in the code without adding an extra error. The problem only seems to affect the library. This is seems more an issue with my codesys set up rather than something with festo. I would like to know the possible causes. I understand most of the library manager features but it's not clear how to find the cause. Thanks

If you have a Windows system (RTE), then why not run the CODESYS HMI as separate controller. This could easily be moved to another PC if required. In the HMI you could also still use the Symbolic Var access as part of the Data Source Manager, although maybe OPC is the preferred way to make it more future proof. Or what about the Remote Target Visu. Then you can reduce the load of the main controller, while still only having to create one application including Visualization. This is now also supported for Linux systems.
