Anyone else using the SEND_RECV_MSG function block for RS-485 communication on Schneider Machine Expert? I have had ongoing issues with it for several years, which Schneider tech support is aware of, but hasn't been able to fix. The latest version of Machine Expert (v2.2) appears to have broken some of the functionality altogether. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone else using this platform for serial communication.

Hello I am using FTP_CLIENT to donwnload/Upload a text or CSV file from FTP server. UpLoading from PLC to FTP server is working without any problem but when I try to download from FTP server I get an error. The FTP_CLIENT Block allows me to add URL but I do not where I can specify the direcory to save the downloaded file... is there anyone has an experience with downloading from FTP server using FTP_CLIENT block. Hello all, im working on a project that requires me to convert an old automation direct DirectSoft PLC d2-250-1. One of the problems im encountering is that all of the comments are attached to members of the different addresses. When i convert the addresses (1777 "C" registers, 777 X registers, and 20,0000 V registers) im running into difficulties keeping the inputs/outputs correct since they are missing documentation. Is there a good way to retain the comments of the indexes in the array? Secondly, initially i was declaring the "C" and "V" addresses individually and this worked to retain the comments as to which register did what, however i ran into a problem when one rung reset (or set to 0) approximately 600 C Addresses. Since each tag is separately declared this proved to be nearly impossible without a literal wall of code that attempted to crash the program. So i converted all of the registers (C,X,Y,V) into separate structs, declared them as arrays and pointed all of the original call outs in the program to the newly defined structs. However i have now lost comments and the program is very hard to follow. Thanks for any help with this issue.

I have several libraries which contain values that should be saved on a PLC. As apparently no Persistent Variable List is available within Libraries, I use the Persistence Manager to create a Persistence Channel in the Project which imports the library. I then specify the persistence channel in the library using the {attribute 'ac_persist':='PersistenceChannel_CT'} specifier. This generally works very well and gives me exactly the properties I require. However, it came to my attention that the (alphabetially) first value from the library is not saved in the created ASCII file. When checking the content of the Persistence Channel, it shows all the variables as defined in the library. But the created file does not contain the first value and it is not restored after restart or reset. (see attached picture) I disabled Periodic Saving and set xSaveOnChange to TRUE and so the file usually updates immediately after changing one of the values. When changing the first value, it does not update which is consistent with this value not being saved. I also created a sample project and library from scratch which shows the same issue both using a Raspberry Pi and using a Linux machine. Does someone know what the reason for this could be or did someone make similar experiences? Looking forward to hearing your suggestions. Thanks in advance and best wishes Manuel

Hi all, I'm new to Codesys and Wago but well versed in Rockwell. I've been tasked with upgrading old Wago 750-880 PLCs that run Codesys v2.3. All I was giving is the original PLC program in v2.3 and the currently running machine. I've spec out to what I believe is a suitable upgrade, the PFC100 2ndGen, 750-8111. As I'm rewriting this code on the Codesys I can't find the same library functions blocks for ethernet settings PLC functions. Currently I'm working on code to get/set the PLC ethernet IP address and HMI IP addresses from the HMI screen. One other function I'm looking for is a warm reset function to the PLC. When googling for this stuff I see a lot of code not in ladder logic. Are these functions now not available to implement in ladder logic? Where can I get more information on finding and implementing this functions? Do I have to buy a license from Codesys to use these functions? The PLC I ordered should be arriving in 2-3 weeks.

Hi Georg, thanks for your time. What is the value of D_ANGLE_TOL? It is set to 0.01. Do you need the assignment bAbort := NOT bDecoder? Does it help to leave it out? This seems to make no difference. Any errors (e.g. SMC_SmoothPath.Error/ErrorID) or PLC log messages? No errors or log messages. What if you comment out SMC_SmoothMerge and SMC_LimtiDynamics, is corner smoothing still not working? Indeed. Is bDecode written from a different task (e.g. visu)? Then I would recommend to assign to a local variable (bDecodeLocal := bDecode) and use that for all FBs. Otherwise, FBs might see different values of bDecode in a single cycle, which will cause problems. It is a local variable, written from a state machine inside this program. But there is new information: During some trial and error, I tried skipping "stage 2: merge short linear segments" (SMC_SmoothMerge). And suddenly it rounds the corners, see attached image. Looking a bit closer, I noticed that (with the original program) after a download (cold start?), it in fact did round the corners, but only once. Ever next cycle in which the NC program was executed, the corners where not rounded. Not sure if there is any relation, but SMC_SmoothMerge is also the only FB which has no bAbort input. Perhaps I need to reset it (or any buffers) by other means?

Hello Mr. Seidel, both the master and the slave axis are modulo. Basically the situation is as follows: One master cycle is 100 units. Slave's modulo length is 2000 units. In the CAM table I defined 10 master cycles on X axis - 1000 units and on the Y axis is the slave - 2000 units. Then depending on the master position 0 to 1000 units the slave's position is plotted on the Y axis - 0 to 2000 units. For example, while the master is executing the 3rd cycle i.e. above 200 units, I trigger the STO function of the slave and it stops. The master executed his cycle but the slave was stopped during the execution. How can I set the slave to continue the CAM sequence from the point where it stopped i.e. third cycle of the master? When I reset the slave error and sync again, everyrhing starts from master's 0 position. Best Regards Konstantin Kolev

I am trying to install the MQTT Client SL in an existing project I have been working on for years. After adding the library to the project, and without adding any other code, upon building I get a C0180: Ambiguous namespace 'MBM' error between the memory block manager (MBM) in the NetBaseSrv dependency of the MQTT Client SL library and the memory block manager (MBM) in the CAA CanL2 dependency of the 3S CANopen stack library. I have tried: * setting "Only allow qualified access to all identifiers." in the properties for both the parent libraries. * deleting the 3S CANopen stack library. Upon (re)building the error simply points to another conflicting library - there are many. * deleting the Library Manager and rebuilding it. * adding the memory block manager library (used in the NetBaseSrv) manually and changing its namespace to MBM3S. None of the above allow me to access the MQTT library through its namespace (MQTT). Adding the memory block manager manually removes the C0180 error, but the MQTT library is not accessible - i.e. mqttClient : MQTT.MQTTClient; highlights the mqttClient as "Identifier 'MQTT.MQTTClient' not defined". Is there anything else I can try?

Hi, do you process the sentences subsequently? If not, the function block fills the sentences (queue) and waits for the sentences to be processed, so that new sentences can be read and filled to the queue.
