I'm using Codesys v3.21SP4 on my PC via ControlWin to establish CAN communication through the PC's USB port. The software works fine. The CAN/USB converter works fine and is validated. However, there is no communication. Which folder and file should be modified to allow the CAN/USB converter to work and thus achieve the connection? Converter used: PCAN-View Information not yet processed: Access the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\3S CODESYS\GatewayPLC\CODESYSControl.cfg Uncomment the line: Component.5=CmpPCANBasicDrv Any help would be appreciated.

I have a main PLC with my CODESYS project on, including Web Visu. I also have a second device used for pump monitoring, all of this is displayed on a seperate HMI. I am looking at displaying the pump monitoring HMI on WebVisu so that I can solely use 1 HMI rather than having two. I can project the pump monitoring HMI into Chrome, and log in and it works fine. When I'm using the Web Browser element in Web Visu, enter my URL (device IP) it shows me the web page, but doesn't show me all of it. It uses parts of JavaScript for the login authenticiation and various other widgets. Similarly, I cannot get Youtube or Google to display on WebVisu either (possibily because of the same reason). Does anybody have any tips on how I can display the likes of Youtube or Google onto WebVisu so I can view it on my 7inch HMI (I suspect that if I can get Youtube or Google to work, then I will also be able to get my pump montitoring web page to work too).

Hi everyone, I’m developing a custom CODESYS I/O driver for my company’s device, and I’ve been studying the example projects in CODESYS V3.5 SP20 Patch 5. In the IOMappingExample.project, I noticed that EtherCAT devices provide additional configuration tabs in the Device Editor, such as General, Process Data, etc. However, for custom I/O driver examples (based on IoDrv), the Device Editor only shows the default tabs like <devicename> I/O Mapping or <devicename> Parameters.</devicename></devicename> I’d like to create custom tabs or configuration pages in the Device Editor (e.g., “General Settings”, “Communication”, etc.) to allow users to configure parameters in a more structured way. Could anyone explain: How to define and register custom tabs or UI pages in the Device Editor? What tools or SDKs are needed to create UI elements such as combo boxes or check boxes? How to bind those UI controls to device parameters defined in the XML (device description)? Any example, SDK reference, or documentation link would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Hi All I was watching the Wago PFC300 webinar ( https://www.wago.com/global/lp-thank-you-onlineseminar-pfc-300 ), and the presenters comment about priority 1 being way above the Ethernet task priority, so that a priority 1 PLC program can actually loose SCADA connection, made me try to round up some hard evidence on Codesys Priorities. I find there is very little information on "correct" task priority configuration. Some controllers have separate MODBUS tasks, but doesn't seem like a big difference. How would you recommend splitting up communication, IO fieldbus and programs into differently prioritized tasks? I know its a complex matter and all about my application, but I really miss there was just some kind of guidance in the documentations and with all new standard Codesys programs having priority 1 as default, makes it seem less important, than it really is.

Hi, I am writing to you today because I would like to create a library that would contain a program with its various subprograms, in my example "PLC_PRG" with "a", "aa", "aaa". But once the library is created as shown below: I would like to be able to drag and drop my folder as many times as I want (let's say I manage the same system multiple times). Once the drag and drop is done, we can see the second folder with the variables renamed successfully. As shown below: But my variables in CAD_1 remain the same as for CAD, so it's PLC_PRG instead of PLC_PRG_1, for example. Is there a solution to automate this? I wouldn't want to have to rename all my variables manually, considering that in the program where I want to do this, the number of variables is substantial. Lucas.

We can I find the GUID / ObjectIds`? I wasn´t able to get details about the GUID of DataTypes (STRUCT/ENUM,..)m, Functions (FUN), GLOBALS and TYPES. Maybe you have the "Devices" tab open(?), but the "templates" are in the POU pool. You can open it from the menu: View - POUs, or if it is already open, select the POUs tab which is normally next to the Devices tab. All objects which are part of a library are in the POU pool, because they should be device independent (at least most of them).

I have the same problem in that I can connect to the eWon and ping the controller IP Address, however I cant connect through CodeSys. I'm using Gateway-1 which is configured to use "IP-Address: localhost" and "Port: 1217". Rather than scanning the network for devices, I enter the IP Address of the device, codesys returns a "No Device is repsonding..." message. See attached. I'm wondering if the IP-Address used Gateway-1 should be "localhost" or the WAN/LAN IP of the eWon? Thanks for the help MC

Actually in my project I used two packages: - CODESYS Contro for Raspberry PI 3.5.15.10 - PiXtend for CODESYS 1.3.8.0 Now I would like to extend my project about the IIot Libraries SL package, I installed them. Next I added SMS_Service_SL 1.0.0.8 version library and I have problem with compile my project because I get error: [ERROR] PiXtend_DemoProject_q: Library Manager [Device: PLC Logic: Application]: Could not open library '#CAADTUtil'. (Reason: The placeholder library 'CAADTUtil' could not be resolved.) Any have idea what can I do to properly add SMS library to my project?

Hello everyone, I'm currently using CODESYS v3.5 SP10 on Windows 11, and I've noticed that syntax errors are not automatically underlined in red as they normally should be. Is there a specific setting that needs to be enabled for this feature to work? If so, could you please let me know where to find it? I’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling CODESYS, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Also, i have a teammate who have exactly the same computer as me and he didnt encounter any issue. Hello, I bought some licenses from CODESYS store. I am trying to install licenses into my device(CODESYS Control for Linux ARM64 SL). But I have a trouble with it. I did it in the following order. Tool -> License Manager Selected Device and Next... Selected Soft container and Next... Select the device and Ok.. And then I always show a message "Licensing info not available. There is no dongle attached to the device." And I tried to click "Install Licenses" button. I saw the message "The value cannot be NULL. Parameter name : continerToLicenses" Could you let me know what I've missed or what I've got wrong?

Hello, I'm new here so if I do something wrong please bare with me. I am using raspberry pi touchscreen made by comfile (CPi-C070WR4C). I also have a window 11 pc where I would like to have a second visualisation, but when I run a TargetVisu with it, all elements of the visualisation end up in the top left corner stacked on top of each other. I have same results running targetVisu on my laptop. Maybe someone had same issues and know the solution? Simas

As I wrote before on the title, I have difficulties to connect to see webvisu from localhost. The story: while waiting for the plc+hmi to arrive, I'm preparing the software, mainly the visual parts trough the control Win3 x64 (same version as the ide 3.5.20.10). The problem is that I can't see the webvisu with the installed webbrowser. I don't know if this is a problem, but I changed the port to 9001 (randomly "free") because 80, 8000, 8080, 8088, 3000 are all occupied by other projects (all on the Apache server). Is there something wrong with the config file? This is the url: localhost:9001/webvisu_app.htm and here the config file part "CmpWebServer". The individual structures were declared in a separate global variable list on a trial basis. But even this did not change the behavior. A total of 1667 variables are processed in a recipe. A reduction (e.g. saving only the first three drive parameter sets) also brought no change.

Codesys Installation : worked Codesys Starting : worked but right after start it stopped. with Start Runtime it starts again but stops automatically after 5 seconds is Codesys planned for Raspi 5?! yes i took the library from another forum: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/f1400b71b6/, it is made for the ads1115 but the ads1015 is almost the same device with same adresses i only changed the divide value of the analog value, because thats the only difference between the ads1115 and ads1015.

I'm Having the same issue. If I highlight PLC Logic and import it erases everything else and replaces the Task config. If I highlight the Application I get the same result. Simple manual fix is click and drag the task config onto the origional Application, and delete the second one. Easy fix but not the expected result of importing task config.

Hello We started with the new design of Codesys, through a "CODESYS Control Standard S" license. However, after installing the license, connecting, etc. (without any problems), we cannot get the program into the PLC with entries that we have not seen before. Is there anyone who has also experienced this? Better yet, does anyone have the solution?

Hi @eschwellinger yes I have been using xDoubleStorage It happened again and I checked and the files were still there with there contents, restarting codesys or rebooting would not even reload them. Doing a download and then starting the PLC loaded them and began working again. Some sort of mismatch error or something?

Hi guys. I've got a device that sends a status message over J1939 and a PLC running Codesys to receive it. This message uses a P2P PGN (as opposed to a broadcast PGN). Codesys can only read it if I mark the J1939_ECU as "Local" (see screenshot 1). The message is received correctly, that is not the problem. The problem is detecting if the message stops being received. Local ECUs have no Watchdog checkbox to detect if the message has been received in the last X seconds. In order to implement a watchdog, I've used a ReceiveWatchdog FB. The same code works well for any non-P2P message, but doesn't work for this particular P2P message I'm trying to monitor. Even if I physically disconnect the device, ReceiveWatchdog.xBusy stays True, and ReceiveWatchdog.xError never triggers due to a timeout error. Is there any caveat in the ReceiveWatchdog FB that makes it unable to monitor P2P PGNs in Local J1939_ECUs?
