Hi, Learning Codesys CNC, and I am confused by the dwIpoTime parameter. I have a basic demo application, using SMC_Interpolator feeding into SMC_TRAFO_Gantry2Tool2, which then sets the position of the x/y SM_Drive_Virtual axis. I also have a C axis which revolves the tool, which is controlled using a simple tangential angle calculation SMC_CalcDirectionFromVector. The GCode I'm using has feed/accel set at 500. The axis configuration limits are well above that (2000). What's strange is that, when I run the simulation, the feed speed changes drastically when I update the variable dwIpoTime. The larger the number, the faster it moves. What's going on here? The documentation only says "This variable has to be set for each call. It represents the cycle time in μsec." Why does it change the feed speed I'm seeing the in simulation? What is a good number to use? The example I was looking at set it at 5000. Screenshot attached.

The issue s the byte order typically in this case. Can be especially problematic with floating point numbers - even more tricky if transferred with a word based protocol. It is a peasant way to try out the alternatives, dword order can be a-b-c-d, b-a-d-c, c-d-a-b, d-c-b-a where a is the most significant, d is the least significant byte. So all you need is to swap the bytes in your dword, until you get the expected result. If you don't want to mess writing code for this, I'd recommend CAA_Memory library for that: MEM.ReverseBYTEsInDWORD and MEM.ReverseWORDsInDWORD functions would definitively do the trick. Ok, I have a simple test environment. From C#, using OPC UA, I can read DINTs, write DINTs, read Structs, but when I try to write a struct I get BadNotWritable. I am using Communication Manager, OPC UA Server, and IEC Symbol Publishing. I have a struct defined with one single DINT in it. The instance of the struct is in GVL. The struct is marked read/write in IEC Symbol Publishing. Any ideas? Can somebody help me with this? I have problem with the button! This task must be solved using Sequential Function Chart (SFC), IEC 61131-3. TASK Create an SFC program to control a traffic light at an intersection. Description: You will program a traffic light that has three phases: Green, Yellow, and Red. The traffic light must follow these rules: Green light is on for 10 seconds. Yellow light is on for 3 seconds. Red light is on for 10 seconds. If the pedestrian button is pressed, the system must keep the red light on for 20 seconds during the next cycle. After the pedestrian has “crossed,” the system should return to its normal cycle. Basic Steps: Initialization: Start by setting the traffic light to Red. Green Phase: After 10 seconds, switch to Green. Yellow Phase: After 10 seconds in the Green phase, switch to Yellow. Red Phase: After 3 seconds in the Yellow phase, switch back to Red. Loop: Repeat the cycle. Use, for example, lamp symbols in the visualization module to simulate the traffic light. You may also add a simple pedestrian light if desired.

I'm having some troubles with this same issue and I'm wondering if someone can help me out. On a settings visual I allow the operator to enter some values however if they activate the page change button it will change the change with the Numpad dialog open. Since I'm using Visuelems.CURRENTVISU to change the pages I came across this code noted below for determining if the Numpad dialog was active. This code worked great however now in 3.5.19 it's now obsolete. I've tried following the directions in the attached program above however I can't see to get it to work in my program. Can anyone provide some help to determine if a dialog is open? For this, I need to: Open a CODESYS project via script Build the project Run the Test Manager tests from a .TestRepository.xml Collect test results (e.g., pass/fail + a report) Exit with a proper return code (for pipeline success/failure) To integrate this into automation, I’m using the CODESYS scripting engine via Python (headless), but the issue is that the get_testmanager() function isn't available on the project object — even though Test Manager is installed, licensed, and works interactively in the IDE. Are you suggesting that I should: Use the Test Manager GUI to script the logic with its internal scripting language? Or is there a way to launch the Test Manager in headless/scripted mode, while still being able to control things via Python? If there's a supported way to automate tests with the Test Manager using scripting, especially from pipelines or headless environments, I’d really appreciate any pointers or example workflows. So I am basically using IoDrvEthernet library to use UpdateConfiguredIPSettings function but I am getting constantly the 'INVALID_STATE' error. I am trying to implement a mechanism to send alarm SMS. For this, I have created an Alarm Class with a Notification Action which calls a POU. This POU implements IAlarmNotifiable making it selectable in the Alarm Class configuration. IAlarmNotifiable has an Execute method which is called by the alarm class. Now, I want to extract the alarm message of the triggered alarm. The Execute method comes with a VAR_INPUT itfAlarm: AlarmManager.IAlarm which supplies a method called GetMessage. The help text says: Returns the message text, that has been configured for the alarm. The result is a pointer to the buffer, where the message text is stored The type of the result is CharBufferPtr, and at some place I read that it can be interpreted as a pointer to string. But I cannot manage to extract the alarm message, all I get are numbers. I have tried the following: psAlarmText := itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^; sAlarmText := TO_STRING( itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^ ); So how do I get access to the alarm message as clear text? I'm having a tough time trying to get Modbus working on a Festo CPX-E PLC; it throws these pre-compiler errors as soon as I add in my Modbus TCP Master 3.5.12.30 to my project: I'm confused about the C0046 error, as I have IODrvModbusTCP 4.3.0.0 Library installed. So I thought maybe I needed to use the newest Modbus TCP Master 4.3.0.0, which is in my device repository: However, whenever I go to add this underneath the Ethernet adapter (which is version 4.2.0.0), the only TCP Master version available is the old 3.5.12.30 one, even if I have Display all versions checked.: I even went so far as to delete the old version, but then there were no options to add a Modbus TCP Master under my Ethernet adapter. What needs to be done to use the newest Modbus TCP Master? Or are these pre-compiler errors unrelated and I'm missing something? Any help greatly appreciated.

The Setup: - Using codesys 3.5 SP20 with all latest libs... - Kontron AL Pi-Tron CM4 with Preempt realtime patch (Raspberry Pi 4) - Codesys runtime 4.11.0.0 (single core) - CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL licensed - Softmotion + CNC + Robotics licensed - 2x Leadshine EL8-EC400 servo drives - Axis group for a 2-axis T-Gantry Ethercat network wiring: Ethercat master softmotion -> Beckhoff EK1100 -> Servo drive #1 -> Servo drive #2 Ethercat Cycle time = 4ms Max Jitter = 140~150 What i have tried so far: - changed the sync offset from 20% to 30% - changed ethercat task priority from 1 to 0 Running tasks: - Ethercat tast: Prio = 0, Interval = 4ms - Main task: Prio = 1, Interval = 8ms - Visu task: Prio = 31, Interval = 100ms - Softmotion planning task: Prio = 15, Freewheeling - 3 other default tasks that were created by AC_Persist Motion fb's are called in the ethercat task... Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I am trying to create an icon on an overview screen that depicts if an alarm group has active alarms, active acknowledged alarms, or inactive unacknowledged alarms (waiting for confirmation). I've attempted to set up Notification Actions in the Alarm Class to set variables based on state changes but have been unable to find a clean and effective way to do this. Because an action on any alarm will trigger the variable to be set as instructed, I'm struggling to find a way to configure it for what I need (ie if two alarms activate, then one deactivates, the variable for indicating an alarm is active would be cleared after the single deactivation). I've been pointed toward the Alarm Manager example project but I'm finding it too complicated to understand how to implement it in my own project. Has anyone come up with another good way to indicate the states of alarms or a simpler usage of the Alarm Manager functions?

I'm using CAD/CAM that outputs GCode with G01 many short segments from NURBS Curve, only X-Y axis. But CODESYS CNC motion seems much slower ( or stop-go motion ) in simulation mode than F-Value (I checked value from SMC_Interpolator - dVel ). In GCode G01, F value is F500, but movement is very slow, actual speed (dVel) is between 0 to 30 back and forth. I think very old CNC can move like that, but nowadays, a lot of CNC can move smoothly to process free curve ( somethimes option switch ) I tried to use G51 Dxx but I got the same result. My questions are 1) How do I improve CODESYS CNC motion in this case ? 2) How can I graph the sampling from dVel of SMC_Interpolate in CODESYS? Hallo zusammen, ich hoffe, ihr könnt mir helfen. Eigentlich möchte ich etwas ganz einfaches erreichen: CODESYS Runtime auf Raspberry Pi (OPC UA Client über Datasources Manager) <--> Cognex Designer (OPC UA Server) auf Windows PC Es will einfach nicht klappen. Wenn ich die Datenquelle hinzufüge, Adresse opc.tcp://192.168.150.10:4840 kommt immer BadRequestTimeout. Es ist keine Security und keine Authentication auf dem Server eingerichtet. Auf dem gleichen Raspberry klappt es aber wunderbar mit dem Tool opcua-client! Das heißt für micht, es ist kein Raspberry oder Firewall Thema. Was auch geht: Diese CODESYS Runtime auf dem Raspberry ist OPC UA Server (einfach über die Symbolkonfiguration) und eine andere CODESYS Runtime (ControlWin auf meinem Rechner) ist Client und verbindet sich über den DatasourceManager. Allerdings: Die Daten kommen im Client nur im 1s Takt an, obwohl die Aktualisierungsrate auf 10 ms eingstellt ist und sowohl Server, als auch die DatasourcesTask im Client auf 10 ms laufen. Ich kann einstellen, was ich will, es bleibt bei exakt 1 Sekunde Aktualisierungszeit im Client. Warum ist das so? Wenn ich auf dem gleichen Windows PC, auf dem die ControlWin läuft den UaExpert verwende und mich zum Raspberry verbinde, kriege ich die Daten im 10 ms Raster! Am Server liegts also nicht! Zurück zu meiner eigentlichen Aufgabe: Ich konnte mir vorübergehend so behelfen, dass ich auf dem gleichen Raspberry einen IO-Broker laufen lasse, der zwei Instanzen des OPC UA Clients hat. Er verbindet sich mit dem OPC UA Server des Raspberry und des Cognex Designers (also die zweite Instanz auf dem Raspberry, die es schafft, sich mit dem zu verbinden, nur Codesys schafft es nicht). Der IO Broker ist also das Bindeglied zwischen beiden OPC UA Servern. Über Javascript kopiere ich bei Wertänderung die Daten vom einen Server auf den anderen. Das ganze Funktioniert tadellos, nur die Performance ist nicht so toll, wobei ich mir nach der Erfahrung mit den zwei Codesys Instanzen nicht sicher bin, ob es nicht an Codesys liegt und der IO Broker nichts dafür kann. Ich komme mit dem Thema einfach nicht weiter. Könnt ihr mir Tipps geben? Am liebsten wäre mir natürlich der direkte Weg: Cognex Designer als Server --> Codesys als Client Aber zur Not wäre auch der IO Broker ein gangbarer Weg, allerdings muss die Performance stimmen. Recently we had an issue regarding some simple code to calculate a rolling average. The code indexes from zero to 199 to properly store the current input into a circular buffer which then allows us to calculate a rolling average: VAR input_5s : REAL; outs_arr : ARRAY[0..199] OF REAL; i : USINT := 0; END_VAR ___ //this code runs every five seconds, calculating a rolling average outs_arr[i] := input_5s; i := i + 1; output := OSCAT_BASIC.ARRAY_AVG(ADR(outs_arr), SIZEOF(outs_arr)); IF i >= SIZEOF(outs_arr) THEN i := 0; END_IF There is a simple bug in this code where the index will be set to 0 when it has surpassed the length of the array in bytes (800 in this case) rather than larger than the number of reals in the array (200). The solution here is simple, replacing i >= SIZEOF(outs_arr) with i >= SIZEOF(outs_arr)/SIZEOF(outs_arr[0]). In this example when the index increased to 201 and the line outs_arr[201] := input_5s was called, codesys arbitrarily wrote to the address in memory that is where outs_arr[201] would be if the array was that long. I would like to find a way to wrap the codesys array inside of a wrapper class that checks if an input is within the bounds of an array before writing to that value. I know how I would implement that for a specific array, I could create a method or class that takes an input of an array of variable length, ie. ARRAY[*] OF REAL, but I don't know how to make this for any data type. I am wondering if anyone has ever done anything similar to this, or has any better suggestions to ensure that none of the programmers on this application accidentally create code that can arbitrarily write to other locations in memory.

Parallel dazu habe ich die Aufrufe von Systemfunktionen über SysProcess_Implementation.SysProcessExecuteCommand2 auskommentiert ohne den Fehler damit abzustellen. An diesem Punkt habe ich wegen Termindruck den alten Stand der Runtime (4.11.0.0) mit der Codesys Version 3.5 SP20 wiederhergestellt und die geänderten Programme und Visualisierungen manuell getauscht mit dem Ergebnis, dass der Fehler in den letzten 2 Stunden nicht mehr aufgetreten ist. Wenn jemand das Problem kennt, wäre ich für einen Austausch dankbar. Frohe Ostern!
