We have been using the Codesys Control for Rasberry Pi for several years in many installations without any major issues. But during summer the problem mentioned above has blocked further deliveries. We have made some minor upgrades to the application but I do not really see why that should have any impact. HW is Raspberry Pi 4B, 2GB OS is Booworm Lite Codesys control is version 4.15 (have just installed a few systems lately with this version) The system boots OK but after exactly 30 seconds Codesys is shut down and becomes unreachable. We have tested several different combinations: Upgrade of the Codeys Control to 4.16 Loading different Codesys applications Changing to 4GB version of the Raspberry Pi One of the test applications together with the 4GB HW seems to be stable, but all other combinations fails. Any suggestion what we can do to resolve is appreciated - this is a real business blocker now. Rgds

Hello everyone, I'm hoping for some assistance with a license activation issue: a software crash has left my license in a strange state. Here is the sequence of events: I purchased a new license for the Raspberry PI from the official CODESYS web store. I opened the CODESYS and started the online activation process using the ticket number I received. During the activation, the CODESYS software threw an exception and crashed. I was not able to see if the activation completed. After restarting CODESYS, I attempted to run the activation process again with the same ticket number. The License Manager now gives me an error stating that the ticket has already been activated/used. I am now stuck because my installation is not licensed, but the activation server believes my ticket has been consumed. Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a way to have the ticket status reset?

This "FB_Init" error has become very annoying lately. It's usually related to webvisu and is resolved by deleting all objects and related libraries. Of course, you need to re-add the deleted objects. Lately, we've generally been managing by not upgrading, but this problem persists in every version since SP20 and should be resolved. I updated a project from SP 19 to SP 21 and found 116 similar errors. Hallo zusammen, ich programmiere öfters mal kleinere Messgeräte und Datenlogger. Je nach Einsatzzweck musste ich mir ein paar Gerätetreiber selber schreiben. Da es eine recht große Sammlung ist, stelle ich die hier einfach mal ein. Die Sammlung basiert auf den Gerätetreiber TCA9548 Multiplexer von Steffen Dreyer. Codesysversion: V3.5 SP18 Patch 4 Inhalt: -4channel Dimmer (Stefan Dreyer) -BMA456 (Andre Klien) -BME280 (Stefan Dreyer) -BMP280 (Stefan Dreyer) -EEPROM_24C512 (Stefan Dreyer) -ADS1115 (Andre Klien) -ICP10125 (Andre Klien) -PCA9555 (Stefan Dreyer) -PCA9685 (Stefan Dreyer) -PCF8575 (Stefan Dreyer) -SDP810 (Andre klien) -SSD1306 (Stefan Dreyer) -TCA9548 (Stefan Dreyer) -TSL2561 (Stefan Dreyer) Alle Gerätetreiber laufen über den Multiplexer, können aber auch ohne betrieben werden. Einschränkung: BMA456: Die Konfigurationsdaten werden erfolgreich in den Chip geschrieben, dieser meldet aber config wrong. Warum auch immer, der Sensor funktioniert und bringt hochempfindlich Beschleunigungsdaten. ADS1115: Hie habe ich nur die wichtigsten funktionen implementiert. 1-4 Kanäle, PGA, kontinuierlicher Modus, Datenrate. Alle anderen Funktionen (single-shot, komparator,alm) sind nicht implementiert. Das macht auch keinen Sinn, da diese Funktionen besser über die Steuerung realisiert werden können. Achtung beim ADS1115 ist zwingend ein Levelshifter notwendig, wenn ihr diesen mit 5V betreiben wollt. Ihr grillt sonst euren Raspi (SDA, SCL sind dann 5V) Gruß Andre

I'm working on a low cost project and I'm considering installing the Codesys runtime on a PC running Linux Debian instead of buying a PLC with a pre-installed runtime. For my needs the Control Standard S license should be capable of running some IO over ethernet/ip, and a webvisu. The PC I am considering has a AMD GX-424CC 2.4GHz processor (4 core/4 thread) and 4GB RAM. This may compare to a raspberry pi4, but I know an X86 processor doesn't directly compare to an ARM processor, and a processor can have a high clock speed but other factors like L2/L3 cache can influence the overall performance. I can't find any published specs for the processor and RAM requirements to run the Codesys Control runtime, does anybody have a link to the minimum system requirements or experience using devices that are at or below the minimum system requirements. A raspberry pi with the control for raspberry pi SL runtime license would be the lowest cost option, but the license is not for commerical use. This restriction is somewhat vague, can anybody clarify if this means I can use a raspberry Pi runtime for in-house automation, what about if I am selling an integrated system that uses a raspberry Pi as a controller?

Hi, I'm trying to monitor a specific PGN which I have it sending a pulse every 500mS Problem: Using the Watchdog for the ECU does not really help me as I have multiple instances with separate PGNs, if a PGN goes ghost, the ECU watchdog won't be flagged as the others will be running. Hi Duvan, You could make this in 1 single object (FB), Indeed don't use a function for this beacuse you need some memory to keep the old value. You ofcourse then need to add some code arround it that does something with the trigger and writes it back to FALSE again. Das program ist klein, und realtime brauch ich gar nicht, Es gibt im bus einem Turck inselstation mit 16 ein und ausgange, und ein MTS linearencoder, womit wir teile messen und abschneiden. Die cycluszeit reist auch nicht aus. Processorleisung bleibt unter 20%. Es geht mir darum das der profinet master in fehler geht, und nicht mehr seine telnehmer erkannen kann. Es kan passieren nach 10 minuten, aber auch nach 5 tage. Nur ein kaltstart bringt die bus wieder am laufen. (kein reconnect mochlich, auch die bus scannen functioniert nicht mehr) Wann ich aber ein ipscan durchfure mit Angryip auf der rechner sind alle telnehmer da. Ich habe noch eine andere application mit die gleiche anwendung, aber wo ein raspberry pi die SPS rolle spielt, und das functioniert einwandfrei. Soll ich fielleicht das OS von Rechenr nach linux umrusten? Der operator ist im moment sehr unzufrieden mit die "upgrade" von maschine... :-( lg Tim

I am adding elements of an ARRAY using pointer to access each element inside a FOR loop and the FOR loop does not stop! What is the right way to use pointers in such case?? I have another loop that is not using pointer and it stops but the loop using pointer keep on adding. Hello, I use Codesys 3.5 SP18 Patch 4 (64 bit) My Codesys project is composed of several dozen of Modbus TCP Slaves. I want to configure each of them by define : - Modbus TCP Slave Configuration : Name, IPAddress, port - Channels - Mapping I can't afford to configure manually and I need to find automatic way What possibilities does the Codesys offer? 1. I know it possible to use python script to create Modbus TCP Master and Slave. But I don't find anyway to create Channels and Mapping through the API 2. I 've tested to set mapping with file.csv on a Modbus Tcp Slave, but no way to import channels definition from file 3. I 've tried to use PLCOpenXml file. For example I 've create a project with an Ethernet device. I've exported it in PlcOpenXml file. After delete the Ethernet device, I've imported the PlcOpenXml file without success. I've tried the same by creating Modbus TCP Slave. Could you help me to find to good way ? Thanks

Hello! Raspberry pi 2b just is getting a bit slow so decided to go for a Raspberry 5. Project is now upgraded to suit Pi 64 SL... so, now although everything runs perfectly... for some reason my trends will not save! its driving me nuts... ^Tried merging tasks with main program & trends ^tried re-prioritizing tasks (shifting 1 - 31 etc) ^Recreated the Trend Recording manager from scratch ^Tried swapping persisitant vars to GVL Retains then non-retains... (Project attached is as per before trial&error) Raspberry Pi 2b still runs "perfectly" though its very chuggy (Still saves the trends, note this is of an pretty much identical project minus the device compatibility) Does anyone have any advice to offer? project attached.... I feel it could be outside of Codesys itself causing the issues, but cant see/find anything on the internet to assist (or anyone else with the same problem as me...) Can attach project in another format (non archive) any assistance is much appreciated!

For the Virtual Control you need to use a "Network license". The Virtual Control has parameters of which one is the reference to the license server. This can be the device itself, but you need to activate the license on the host system (not in the container). For this, CODESYS has a Network License server with WBM (web based management). See for the Network License configuration: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_license_controller_linux.html If it is only for evaluation, I would advise to use a CODESYS (USB) key and activate the license on the key. Then you still have to install the CODESYS Network License server on the host, but you don't have to activate the license as soft license on the device. The benefit is that you can easily move your license to another device when needed. Off course your device must have a free USB port available to be able to do this.

Hello, I have a raspberry pi with a license installed, but Codesys stops after 2 hours, and when I start it manually I have the following message: pszInfo=!!!! no runtime license - running in demo mode(~2 hours) I tried using License Manager, and got the following message: Licensing info not available. There is no dongle attached to the device. I have this message frequently, and usually removing the content of /var/opt/codesys/.cmact_license makes it work. After doing it and restarting Codesys, I have an empty Softcontainer without my License. I tried using "Install license" using the .WibuCmRau file for the corresponding license and got the following message: Licensing info not available. The device does not support this service. I also tried using Additional Functions > Restore Licenses with the Ticket ID and got the following message: This device does not support automatic license backup. How can I reinstall the license to this Raspberry Pi?
