Dear Forum, I would like to initialize an array input on a method. When I do this, I get the following error: "The type of ARRAY [1..2] OF BOOL cannot have a default value in this context." Busy testing a solution to use Canbus Slave to replace a physical device and convert to Ethercat device but keep the Canbus Master in place. Master needs to Read SDO object 5FA2. In the Master PLC if i send the SDO with 8 bytes in message IE: 60B 40 A2 5F 00 00 00 00 00 i get my expected 58B 43 A2 5F 00 00 68 36 02 containing data back. Problem is if we issue a 4 byte command can send 60B 40 A2 5F. Surely the canbus slave should respond with a 58B 43 A2 5F 00 00 68 36 02 but it comes back as 80 A2 5F 00 00 00 00 08 - meaning this OBJECT does not exist. Is there a setting in the canbus slave driver for Canbus to allow the 4 byte command to read the SDO OBJECTS ?

Dear @gseidel, Thank you for your clarification. I fully agree that the quadratic ramp type may have certain technical advantages. However, the main problem is backward compatibility and consistency across projects. In many automation projects, application developers rely on the fact that creating a new axis object will behave exactly the same way as in previous versions. With SoftMotion V4.18.0.0 and later, if an application developer adds an axis and overlooks the changed default, the motion function blocks behave differently than expected. In particular, since the Jerk value in SM3_Basic function blocks is ineffective in trapezoid ramp type, users are accustomed to leaving this parameter empty in their projects. In many existing projects, this variable has not even been assigned. When the default is changed to quadratic, the Jerk parameter suddenly becomes relevant, which can cause errors or unexpected behaviour in the field. From a user perspective, a default setting should always be the “safe” and “expected” option, while alternative options (like quadratic) can be selected manually if desired. Keeping the default as trapezoid ensures compatibility with existing projects and prevents unexpected issues, while still allowing users to benefit from quadratic ramps if they explicitly choose so. For these reasons, I kindly ask you to reconsider making trapezoid the default again. This would significantly reduce the risk of unexpected behaviour in future projects while still preserving the advantages of the quadratic ramp type for those who actively select it. Dear @alimans, Additionally, As far as I know since starting from Softmotion V4.18.0.0 automatic restart behaviour for an axis has been changed for this issue. See below explanation from release notes. "With CODESYS SoftMotion 4.18.0.0, the behavior of SoftMotion axes after a loss of communication to the servo drive has changed. Now, an automatic reinitialization is performed as soon as the communication is established again. Before, an explicit call to SMC3_ReinitDrive had to be performed. Using Codesys 3.5.18.30 I am trying to work with an array of variable length in one dimension, but known in the other dimension. For example, using an array that represents a list of items, each with an attribute profile. I do not know how many items will be in the list, but I know that every item has 5 attributes, like size, weight, etc. Codesys does not seem to be able to accept this. I have referenced Data Type: ARRAY OF documentation page, which is not explicit if variable & fixed length array dimensions can be mixed. In the VAR_IN_OUT scope, I initially tried MY_ARRAY : ARRAY [*, *] OF REAL; which was no problem, of course. I then modified it to MY_ARRAY : ARRAY [*, 1..5] OF REAL; which throws C0006: ', or ]' expected instead of '..' among consequent downstream errors. I then used the Auto Declare -> Array Wizard, which accepted (asterisk)-(asterisk) and 1-5 for 2-dimensional lower and upper bounds. It output: MY_ARRAY: ARRAY[*..*, 1..6] OF INT; which throws the same error stream. What's the deal here? Is this possible?

Hi everyone; I'm building a project in which the drag of the mouse over some controls (or the click event) changes the background color of the control items; this change of color is made with an FB that assignes a color code to the background with MUX command based on the value of an enumerator, this part is perfectly working but, when I'm using a touchpanel instead of a web visu (controlled by a mouse) I get into some issues as it seems that the touch operations are not triggering the MouseEnter and MouseLeave properties as it's done with the mouse.... For this reason I'm trying to add a TON to my FB and, if the enum that changes color remains at the same state for more then 3s I'm automatically resetting it to it's "0" so the item gets back the not selected color. Anyhow it looks like the TON function from library is not working in these FB that are instanced in the various visualizations, as instead they do if I create some instances within the POUS. Anyone has ideas of how to make them work?

"Hello, I'm Cedric Lee, a PLC engineer based in Korea. I'm reaching out about an ongoing issue with the connection when attempting to control Beckhoff modules using Raspberry Pi with CODESYS for the first time. I use CODESYS to target the Raspberry Pi's IP, install version 4.10.0.0 of the CODESYS Runtime Package, and upon pressing Start in the Runtime, the target connects to the Raspberry Pi. However, within about a minute, an error window appears, stating 'no connection to the device. please rescan your network,' leading to the disconnection of the target. This cycle repeats. I've attached some pictures for your reference. I'm using CODESYS Development System V3, Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (installed as 64-bit), and Beckhoff EK1100 modules. If anyone has a solution to this issue, please help. Your assistance is greatly appreciated."

I have checked my BIOS to make sure my secure boot status is disabled, see attached image. when I go to component manager, the drop down menu doesnt have the new network adapter, see attached image. Hello, I have set up an OPC UA server following several guides, including this one: https://revolutionpi.com/documentation/tutorials/opc-ua-codesys-nodered/. The license for the runtime is installed on the device. However, I am unable to create a certificate for the OPC UA server in the security screen. I always get the error message: "The certificate has not been created by the device." Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Dear Forum, I'm currently experimenting with Modbus interfaces in combination with a virtual controller. I have the following setup (Modbus_Setup.png): I have an IPC with Debian installed on it (Debian 13). On this Debian machine I have installed a docker server and on this docker server a Codesys runtime container is deployed (Codesys_image.png). The Modbus scanner makes connection with and IO coupler and this works well. But when I physically disconnect the ethernet connection between the IPC and the IO coupler the Modbus interface gets stuck in a state where it gets stuck in the busy state (Modbus_Stuck.png). When I plug the cable back in, the IO coupler isn't communicating until the xBusy variable is manually set to False, after this action is performed the communication goes back to normal. I have tried to set the container network to host and bridge (Network.png), but both version gives the same result (stuck scanner). I would expect that the Modbus interface is generating a timeout after 1 sec, because this is how it is setup (Modbus_settings.png), but this is not what happens. I have thought to write a piece of code that writes xBusy to false when it is stuck but because it is an output I'm not able to write to it. I have tried this with another PC (different CPU/motherboard) but this gives the same outcome. I tried updating to the latest version of Virtual control (4.20) but this gives the same result. I also tried to do the same thing with an ethernet IP scanner, and this gives an error after the timeout is expired (so this works well). I have tried to connect to the IO coupler using the Modbus_FB lib (Modbus_FB.png) the FB's are giving the correct errors and behaving as expected. At last I have tried to use a Scanner on a Codesys controller (no IPC) and here the scanner behaves as expected (an alarm is triggered after the timeout has been expired). The version of the Codesys components are listed in the picture Versions.png Is there anyone that can give me a push in the right direction? Kind regards Alex

An interesting remark for CODESYS Support. I found this after looking through the Runtime Deploy Tool messages when I connect to an AMD64 architecture Successfully Connected to Target ( {MyIP} - AMD64 ) when I connect to an ARM64 architecture (Raspberry Pi5) Successfully Connected to Target ( {MyIP} - ) As clearly seen in the attached .png, the AMD64 target is detected, while the ARM64 target architecture is not detected (displayed). I assume that this is the reason why the pulldown menu isn't populated correctly.

I have a raspberry pi trying to add encoder to it using that free encoder node. I simply dont understand where the encoder channel A/B suppoded to be mapped when i got to I/O mapping on encoder I get nothing to where to set the channels for the encoder or is there any blocks from a library or how is it that you use an encoder with Codesys it doesn't seem clear at all

I am trying to have these set to change the visualization to a specific screen which I have designed 8 of. I currently have "use CurrentVisu" enabled in the visualization manager. I also have input blocks with all of the buttons being directed to output blocks which I want to have as the switcher for the visualization. Picture is attached for what I have currently. This could be the wrong approach to this issue. Any help is much appreciated.

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I am also new to Codesys programming. My problem is this: I have a STRUCT of 64 bool and 30 real, this STRUCT is assigned in the programme 9 times. Now I need to communicate with an HMI via Modbus and I have defined the slave device and created the holding registers for communication. I would like to declare the first call of the STRUCT on the Modbus registers %QX2000.0 to %QX2007.7 for the booleans and on the registers %QW1004 to %QW1034 for the real registers. That said, I would like to change an index and set an offset of 100 bytes for the calls of the other 8 assignments, so that the result is: %QX2100.0 to %QX2107.7 for the booleans and on the %QW1104 to %QW1134 registers for the Real registers, etc. Is there a way to declare this? I am having an issue where the manual start/stop push buttons on the HMI are supposed to take the pumps/blowers out of auto. The logic I have attached works for the pumps, but not the blower. From what I can tell it is the exact same logic, but it is not writing a 0 to the Auto PB variable. Attached is the logic, cross reference list to show nothing else is writing to it, and the HMI screen. Any help? Am I missing something? I am using a Groov Epic PR1, my software version is 3.5 SP19 Patch 5 32 Bit.

What happened to Python? I’ve just installed version 3.5.21.3 of the CODESYS development environment. I’m coming from 3.5.19.5. What happened to Python scripting! We rely heavily on it for the automatic generation of thousands of lines of code! It seems absurd to me that such an important feature has been removed!

Issue 1 — First row not displayed when using Maximum array index with 1-based arrays Description: When displaying data from an array that is indexed starting from 1 (e.g., ARRAY[1..N]), and the number of displayed rows is limited using the Maximum array index property, the first row of the array is not shown in the visualization. Steps to reproduce: Create an array indexed from 1 (e.g., ARRAY[1..N]). Bind the array to a Table element. Limit the number of displayed rows using the Maximum array index property. Run the visualization. Actual result: The first array element (index 1) is not displayed in the table. Issue 2 — Tooltip string placeholder cannot be bound to string variable from array Description: It is not possible to use a string placeholder in the tooltip that is bound to a string variable from the array. Steps to reproduce: Use a table bound to an array containing string variables. Configure a tooltip using a string placeholder referencing a string field from the array. Run the visualization. Actual result: Tooltip doesn't show any text. A test project demonstrating both issues is attached. Thank you for your time and support.
