Hello Everyone, When I try to import some POUs that were previously exported from another project as an XML file, I get an error like in attached image and the process does not complete. "There are no objects in the export file..." I am using SP21 Codesys IDE and I do not know which version this XML (*.export) file was previously exported with. Update: I still have no idea what was causing my issues, but it went away as soon as I identified that another device on the CAN was generating a Sync message at 16#7F. Changing this to be on 16#80 made the problem go away. I have no idea why this solves the problem and would love to hear from anyone who knows why these two things might be related.

I would definitely try using the "Reconfigure" function block from "CAA Device Diagnosis@ library. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/CAA%20Device%20Diagnosis/3.5.17.0/CAA-Device-Diagnosis/Function-Blocks/Reconfigure/Reconfigure.html#:~:text=This%20function%20block%20reads%20and,take%20effect. Although I have not tried it with Modbus, I had great success with EtherNet/IP, Profinet and EtherCAT. You can also have a look at the other functions in this library. There are useful functions to help iterate through all the nodes under a master node.

Hi everyone, I’ve connected and configured an MCP23017 over I²C on a Raspberry Pi using the available CODESYS/RPi library. Input reading works fine (I can reliably read a digital input). However, I can’t get any output pin to change state. Example: when I try to drive PB0, the watch shows MCP23017.Out_B.0 = TRUE (1), but there is no actual output on the pin (no voltage change). Anyone solved this?

I was trying to use subdevicesCollapsed attribute in device descriptor in order to not expand the subdevices when a new device with subdevices is inserted in the device tree. I use this as follows:<fixed subdevicescollapsed="true">. But it seems it doesn`t work. I am ussing Codesys v3.5 SP16 Patch4. Is anything wrong with this? Or am I mistaken with the use of this attirbute?</fixed>

When evaluating Codesys functionality, I found that the VPLC tab under Deploy Control SL > Operation > VPLCs is 'gray-ed out', see attached image. I'm trying to evaluate how my infrastructure will interact with Codesys on a Raspberry Pi 4, so I'm trying to demo running it. I was going through the Codesys tutorial here, and it never shows the tab as grey, so I do not know how to proceed. Let me know if I can get any additional information that can help.

Hey all CODESYS-experts. I'm at a customer site, and we hade a power-failure and one of the devices apparently runs codesys and has crashed. It's an old device (out of warranty) that is bought many years ago. Now this device doesn't seem to boot. Any idea what to do in this case? We have access to the drive so we have access to the files. See screenshots.

Hello I am using FTP_CLIENT to donwnload/Upload a text or CSV file from FTP server. UpLoading from PLC to FTP server is working without any problem but when I try to download from FTP server I get an error. The FTP_CLIENT Block allows me to add URL but I do not where I can specify the direcory to save the downloaded file... is there anyone has an experience with downloading from FTP server using FTP_CLIENT block. I got the shared memory example. I'm pretty sure I'm successfully created a memory space, CreateResult returns 18. szName:='CodesysDataShare'; hShm := SysSharedMemoryCreate(szName, 0, ADR(uxiSize), ADR(CreateResult)); I'm trying to access this memory with a C# application, but I get "Unable to Find Specified File". I suspect that Codesys and/or Visual Studio code alters the name I choose? I am testing the PLC and want to see if there is some way I can make an actuator run. Please help by looking at the picture, Iam stuckd and I don't know how to fix it.

IEC 61499 is probably something more complex than what you have correctly said so the prospects are interesting but we cannot ignore that it came out almost 20 years ago and has not won many hearts. I started to explore this world with a PLCnext controller because I love these devices based on RT Linux and Codesys is somehow usable with them but I have made little progress and I feel like inside a nutshell in the middle of the sea ;-) Gary's voluminous and precious book is always on my desk...

I use the function SysFile.SysFileOpen(sFileNamePara, SysFile.ACCESS_MODE.AM_WRITE, pErrorFileOpen); to open and write a file. Since the update from Codesys V3.5 SP17 to V3.5 SP19 Patch 5 it does not work anymore. I first had SysFile.SysFileOpen(sFileNamePara, SysFile.ACCESS_MODE.AM_APPEND_PLUS, pErrorFileOpen); in both versions. hFile_Test is a pointer to byte. It gives an exceptional error when dereferencing the hFile_Test pointer. Edit: I use Codesys on a Raspberry pi

Hello everyone, I encountered a problem in the simulation while working. In a test project we set up a Modbus connection. We wanted to simulate this with test values. The connection also worked, but unfortunately the values are frozen and do not report any “current data”. (Picture attached) Since these are my first points of contact with Codesys and my colleague continues to work elsewhere, I was hoping that someone here might have an idea. The only issue remaining is that when connecting to a device and obtaining its public key, the NCryptEncrypt function is called, which is not fully implemented in the DLL source code, resulting in the connection not being established. Hello, I am experiencing difficulties in configuring a CANopen device by sending SDOs. In particular I am attempting to write an Object Dictionary that has VISIBLE STRING as the Data Type. When I try to configure the sending of an SDO from Codesys to configure this parameter I am not allowed to enter a string value. In my particular case I am trying to change the Manufacturer Device Name ( Index 0x1008 ). Could it be that Codesys doesn't manage these types of variables?

Why will it retain the sum value from the last call? This is how PLC work. Usually variables only get initialized after a download or a reset (i.e. power loss). RETAIN variables are saved in a special kind of RAM and keep their value after a power loss. To initialize variables on every call of your FB use the VAR TEMP block. VAR_TEMP sum : INT; END_VAR

I have been trying to set an array value to a JSON structure of this form: {"key": [1,2,3,4]} While I have been able to create the key and set its value to an empty array, I've not had any luck in putting any value in that array. objindex:= fb_JBuilder.SetKeyWithArray("Key6", diParentIndex := diRootIndex); objindex2:= fb_JBuilder.SetValue(value:= iValue2, diParentIndex:= objindex); iValue2: ARRAY[0..3] OF INT:= [1,2,3,4]; The two lines of code above produce {"key6": []} . The second line essentially has no effect.

I see that I am having problems: - UaExpert does not connect. There are many servers but no connection. - I can’t transfer the certificate from quarantine to trusted ones. Hi, I clone a git repository with VersionUpdateFlags.SilentMode, works fine But now I want to checkout a specific commit (with branch_copy command). When using the branch_copy command there is no VersionUpdateFlags and I get this annoying "Project Environment" prompt, blocking further execution of my script without user input. I already tried something like system.prompt_answers[???] = PromptResult.Cancel but I don´t know the string I need here.. The goal is to have a script that clones a repository and compiles every tag + create compiled libraries.

Good morning, The problem I encounter is very disturbing, when I try to connect to my project, it asks me to put in my username and password, which I do. However, I cannot connect and it restarts. the window to rewrite my identifiers. However it is the correct identifier and password I do not understand why. When I try to put false identifiers there strangely it tells me that these are not valid identifiers. There is something what can I do? Sincerely

Hello, I'm new here so if I do something wrong please bare with me. I am using raspberry pi touchscreen made by comfile (CPi-C070WR4C). I also have a window 11 pc where I would like to have a second visualisation, but when I run a TargetVisu with it, all elements of the visualisation end up in the top left corner stacked on top of each other. I have same results running targetVisu on my laptop. Maybe someone had same issues and know the solution? Simas

Hi We have picked up an issue OSCAT_BASIC.Scale_r function call not working in the old lad and FBD version 4.60. Gives no output on the function call. When we convert this to LAD2 it works. As can be see by the two screenshot in normal LD not working in LAD2 it works. Please confirm if this is an issue with Oscat or with LAD in 3.5.21sp3, is there an workaround. Regards Shaun
