Hello, I have problems with the I2C communication to an ADS7828 AD converter. I don't get any value back from the chip. I use a Kontron chip (ARM 32SC) with Linux as the operating system. I also use the CmpCharDevice library. Hey guys, I have a RasPi and can control my WS2812B (addressable light strip) via Python. I know I can run a python script on CodeSys, but I'd like to avoid doing that. Is it possible, and how do I do it? Is there a library that does this?

Hello All, Does anyone have experience configuring a PROFIsafe communication between EL6910 (F-Host) and and a F-Device in Codesys? I would expect that the PROFIsafe configuration process would be pretty similar as the FSoE configuration. Although, when an F-Device is included under PN-Controller, Codesys doesn't allocate a PROFIsafe logical device automatically under EL6910, as it happens when a FSoE slave is added under EtherCAT master. I thank anyone in advance who can help me on this.

After upgrading all my licensed runtimes to V4.14.0.0 (= RaspberryPi SL, LinuxSL and ControlWin x64 SL) I found out via the logfiles they all defaulted back into DEMO mode while all runtimes have a USB dongle inserted. So, my main question is how I can get the Dongle license detected? I use License Server 4.14.0.0 and Edge Gateway 4.14.0.0 on all platforms Any suggestions are welcome.

Hello, the information if your axis is already homed you could only find out direct from your Slave. In DS402 status there is no Bit defined. But some manufacturer of Drives use some optional bits or status. E.g. if you have Schneider Electric LXM32 Servo you will find this information in Bit 15. You have to check the manual of your used Servo-Drive f this information is provided in any object and then read it out with SDO.

i had a similar problem trying to send files to C: on local computer. Ended up using Oscat ftp to transfer file with filezilla. i read there is an "write protection", possibly to do with windows, issue with sp19 and up. there are some config files in the codesys dir you can change, which may help. after i was able to transfer to local PC\downloads but not c: so went the ftp route. works well. https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/5cac1390b4/

After updating my Codesys to later versions, it seems my device repository no longer lists the proper runtime devices, nor ethernet adapters, or other previously installed device descriptions. What needs to be done here? Do I need to uninstall and do a clean install? I am now updating to SP21.1 to see if that fixes it. Any tips what I am doing wrong here are much appreciated. I don't see codesys control win, or have the ability to add an ethernet adapter in my project.

Hi! I am using abb ac500 in automation builder v2.7 I have a problem with a new project. In the normal mode I have no problems, but in safety mode i cannot go online. I get 'Communication Error (#0) Logout Performed' message. I have tried changing the adress (level 1) in communication parameters. I tried 0.0.0.0.0 and 0.1.0.0.0 and 1.1.0.0.0 but it did no difference. What do you think could be causing this? Thanks!

To better track project changes in git I created a script that exports the project structure as text files. Textual POUs are stored as text, everything else as XML (with timestamps removed). The file structure is stored under path/to/your.project.txt Git merge will not work, but at least tracking changes is much easier. A customer also want OPC access, but I want to restrict his access to only read certain values. Do you know if this is possible inside the single codesys runtime running on a controller?

Hello, I need to execute "sudo" commands via CoDeSys 3.5 SP 19 P5 using the "SysProcessExecuteCommand2" function. Commands without sudo are no problem, but as soon as sudo is used in a .sh or a single command, it does not work. Command=AllowAll is entered under "SysProcess" in CODESYSControl.cfg. It is being worked on by many companies and its even-driven function blocks seem like a natural evolution of the object oriented industrial programming I have seen Gary Pratt (author of the Book of CODESYS and much more) so expertly implement and explain. I would expect CODESYS to have this front and center on their sights and, if they do not, I would be very interested in learning why.

It's good that you've found a workaround. But it's bad that you need one. The array length auf my struct is 16. My struct also contains other arrays of structs. It contains a total of 1716 variables. I have tested saving and loading extensively under version 4.3.0.0. It looks good. I couldn’t find any problems. Maybe it helps to reinstall the update (see previous post). Otherwise you could try my test project (first post). This should work with version 4.3.0.0.
