Hey, Sorry this isn't super helpful, but i had this problem once and was able to resolve it. I can't recall how I solved it and whether it was a problem with my codesys installation or the project itself. If it is the codesys installation, make sure all your required libraries and plugins are installed and available. compare with a colleagues installation if possible. I vaguely recall saving a copy of my project and deleting things one by one until the error went away...

Hello? I have a problem with datasource... I am trying to connect to a OPCUA server. I create a datasource, but I can not login into it. I need to use login credentials to login... Everything works fine in UAExpert, but in codesys I cant seem to get in properly using the login credentials... I have tried to configure the datasource initializer but seem to keep failing... Do I need to call it somewhere ? Will the find endpoints work with this configured to store my password ? !

Hi all, is it possible to use object instances that are not instantiated by codesys itself, e.g. have been defined in UA-Modeler ? When I browse the plc with UA-Expert I see those instances, but I have not seen information in codesys or the web if these are writable in codesys. So far, I am under the impression, that it is not possible, but would like to hear from others. Also, is it correct, that it is not possible to create references inside codesys ? I've seen that you can use cmds like below to run SA from scripts. system.commands["staticanalysis", "run"].execute() But I would like to run different SA configuration files to create separate logs and cant find anywhere in the scripting engine if this is supported. This stems from if I turn on everything, SA stops reporting issues in the message log when the list gets over 600ish issues. Once we have done an initial clean up of code this wont be an issue, but I'm trying to get a baseline to track improvement.

Hello everyone Since I have installed Codesys 3.5.20sp2 I cannot get the profinet features working again. Now I get RPC Blocked during device scan (see attached file) and when online I get RPC-call error (see attached file). I run Codesys on the last version of Windows 11, Profinet ports have been added to Firewall rules, and even with disabled Firewall I get same result I really never seen that before Same result using another PC I already spent 2 days to find the issu without any success, I would appreciate some help, thank you! When you say it does not work, does nothing happen or do you get an error? I have not used this function in codesys but from my past experience with Modbus I believe the coils need to be contiguous, which may be why yours is failing? Have you tried using Write Registers (16) to do the job? Or is their data in-between you do not want to edit in the transaction?

I used it on the past with codesys 3.5.14.40 an it worked. Now not. i can connect (as you see byClientConnctions = 1) but i dont recive a reply from server. Someone can help me?

Hello, I am struggling with Edge gateway to the automation server. It is not possible to establish the link. When I create the Edge in codesys and get it to Automation server, it is red, unable to connect. Scan fails. RPi 4B Runtime 4.13.0.0 Edge gateway 4.13.0.0 Codesys 3.5.2.40 Any idea what to chase? I have been using previous versions of edge gateway. Now I updated all to latest versions, failed. Frustrating.

The error on File Open is 5114 File Operation Danied.. here below the implemented code and the windows file's properties. I use to implement codesys in RPI and this operation is immediate... Hi All Not sure what im missing here but i seem to have a lot of issues when i start a project say at home then try to open it at work the next day on another pc, using same version of Codesys. I try the build option when opening the project but still get loads of placeholder,library and some random errors i'm not to sure about. have tied project Archive, which is better, but not perfect. Hi, In our project, it is not rare to have I/O cards issues. I wanted to have a way to check their statuses ( Eg. INIT, OP, PREOP, etc.. ) I was trying to use the GetDeviceDiagnosisInfo method from the IoConfig_Globals, but there is no info available on the Web with a simple example; does someone have a link to some tutorial or anything else ? How large and how complex? It's tough to make a recommendation without additional details. The simplest thing is to just use data arrays (or even arrays of arrays). Hi all I'm having a little trouble get my axis to work. i can turn them off and on. i can run each servo manually inputting directly to the mapping address. as soon as i try to use any FB's like jog etc my servos wont move and error out. so far I've had error "SMC_ERROR.SMC_DI-POSITIONLAGERROR" and another one about not calling a fb. cheers. in the attachment I have just jogged X_Axis with the MC_JOG FB

I need to be able to update (change) the interface of an IO-Link device at runtime. The reason is the connected sensor can be selected at runtime, and some sensors we use have a 2 byte IN interface, others have a 4 byte IN interface, others 16 byte IN, others 16 byte IN/OUT (see attached screenshot). Is it possible at all? When yes, which function should I use? Thank you!

Hi Trying to send csv file to c:\data\xxx.csv Im able to save to plclogic and after doing this https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/5cac1390b4/ i can now "file transfer" to host pc downloads. but still cant transfer to c:\ im sure i have done this in the past with older versions of the 3.5 ide? just concat the file name as c:\data\My_Filename.csv. any ideas? cheers

"There are no objects in the export file..." I am using SP21 Codesys IDE and I do not know which version this XML (*.export) file was previously exported with. Update: I still have no idea what was causing my issues, but it went away as soon as I identified that another device on the CAN was generating a Sync message at 16#7F. Changing this to be on 16#80 made the problem go away. I have no idea why this solves the problem and would love to hear from anyone who knows why these two things might be related.

Although I have not tried it with Modbus, I had great success with EtherNet/IP, Profinet and EtherCAT. You can also have a look at the other functions in this library. There are useful functions to help iterate through all the nodes under a master node.

Hi everyone, I’ve connected and configured an MCP23017 over I²C on a Raspberry Pi using the available CODESYS/RPi library. Input reading works fine (I can reliably read a digital input). However, I can’t get any output pin to change state. Example: when I try to drive PB0, the watch shows MCP23017.Out_B.0 = TRUE (1), but there is no actual output on the pin (no voltage change). Anyone solved this?

I was trying to use subdevicesCollapsed attribute in device descriptor in order to not expand the subdevices when a new device with subdevices is inserted in the device tree. When evaluating Codesys functionality, I found that the VPLC tab under Deploy Control SL > Operation > VPLCs is 'gray-ed out', see attached image. I'm trying to evaluate how my infrastructure will interact with Codesys on a Raspberry Pi 4, so I'm trying to demo running it. I was going through the Codesys tutorial here, and it never shows the tab as grey, so I do not know how to proceed. Let me know if I can get any additional information that can help.
