I managed to find a solution that seems to work reliably. As the VU.Globals.CurrentClient-filter accesses the CURRENTCLIENTID or at least a similar, internal variable it can only be used if called from a certain client (e.g. from a button in a visualization). My solution works by implementing a new client filter that compares the client ID of all clients to the ID of the last client that was used. The variable containing the data of the last client is defined as: G_LastClient : VU.IVisualizationClient; // Copy of last client that detected click This last client is then updated every time a button is pressed using the Execute ST-Code input configuration of the button: G_LastClient := VU.PublicVariables.Clients.Current; Next, I created a function block that implements the client filter interface as so: FUNCTION_BLOCK FB_LastClientFilter IMPLEMENTS VU.IVisualizationClientFilter VAR_INPUT END_VAR VAR_OUTPUT END_VAR VAR END_VAR Then i added a method to the FB called IsAccepted which is used to filter out the client. When creating the method, it should automatically be filled with the according variable declaration, as it is defined in the interface: (* For every client can be desided, if it is accepted. ``TRUE``: Client is accepted*) METHOD IsAccepted : BOOL VAR_INPUT (* The client, to check*) itfClient : VU.IVisualizationClient; END_VAR Now the client can be compared to the last used client as such: // check if clientID corresponds to clientID of last recorderd client IF itfCLient.ClientId = G_LastClient.ClientId THEN IsAccepted := TRUE; ELSE IsAccepted := FALSE; END_IF To make use of this custom client filter, initialize a variable with the client filter: LastClient : FB_LastClientFilter; // Client filter to find last used client Then use this client filter when opening or closing a dialog from ST: fbOpenMyDialog(itfClientFilter:=LastClient,xExecute:=TRUE,sDialogName:='VIS_MyDialog_DLG');

gatto, That works. Thanks. Typically I use my mouse more than my keyboard. That's why I was looking for a delete option from the right-click context menu or a delete button on a toolbar at the top. It never occured to me to use the keyboard. It might be a little more user friendly if they allowed a mouse wise ability to remove a line from the grid as well as the DEL key. Just a suggestion. Thanks for your help.

Hello, I’m developing a program and for some reason I got this error: C0193: Name '2,Recipe #2GVL' is no valid identifier I was creating a combo box and creating a TextList for my recipe. I couldn't find where the error was, until in the combo box properties in the 'Text List' property in the options it gives me to select, I found '2,Recipe #2' to be able to select (I never created a list with this name) and I can't find a way to delete that option or I can't find where that list is. I tried to delete the TextLists, delete the combo box, to clean the project, but the error still there. How can I delete this option (2,Recipe #2)? Or how can I fix this error?** Thank you.

Hello All! Having a strange issue. When adding a library, I'm unable to search. Each time a window pops up 'creating the search index' and then has 0 results. I have the same behavior when using the library repository and pressing the 'Find' button. I wonder if there is a way to reset or fix this issue? It is making it very difficult to search and find proper libraries to add to my project. Much appreciated.

Hello, if you enter %t as a "Text" on a rectangle and do not link a variable in "Text variable", it automatically displays the system time. My question is, where do if find a variable, that contains exactly this time? I tried numerous variants using GetLocalDateTime or GetSysTime but I always have to manage timezones myself (which I do not want to do). I only want a variable with the date an time from my windows system, where the visualization is running. Where can I find this variable?

Hi, I'm watching an ifm tutorial on how to setup an industrial controller in CODESYS. I'm using an 'ecomatDisplay43inch_64bit) controller. CODESYS Gateway and PLC are both runngin (systray). However if I click "Scan Network" I can't find my controller. The only thing it finds is a "desktop" it seems (I'm using a Windows 10 on a Mac Book using VMWare, so maybe it has something to do with that?). How can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

Hello, the information if your axis is already homed you could only find out direct from your Slave. In DS402 status there is no Bit defined. But some manufacturer of Drives use some optional bits or status. E.g. if you have Schneider Electric LXM32 Servo you will find this information in Bit 15. You have to check the manual of your used Servo-Drive f this information is provided in any object and then read it out with SDO.

An update note. Still using linux/Qemu. Still happy, but sometimes some things are harder. I lost the "bridge" connection to my VM (meaning for instance I couldnt "scan network" and find local units. Have spent tons of hours to find out why. Finally it seems the traffic got blocked by the firewall/iptables so needed to set rules for that. So friendly note that rules must allow forward traffic to/from you configured host bridge device.

I found out that the Codesys simulation mode is not good to measure performance. As soon as I upload the code onto the hardware PLC I can see that my visu-task needs around 60 ms to complete. I'm wondering if there is a possibility to find out which visualization/visualization element takes a lot of computing time? Then I would look for ways to decrease the long computing time.

I got the shared memory example. I'm pretty sure I'm successfully created a memory space, CreateResult returns 18. szName:='CodesysDataShare'; hShm := SysSharedMemoryCreate(szName, 0, ADR(uxiSize), ADR(CreateResult)); I'm trying to access this memory with a C# application, but I get "Unable to Find Specified File". I suspect that Codesys and/or Visual Studio code alters the name I choose? I’m encountering an issue when downloading CSV files via the WebVisu button input config -> file-transfer option: • Custom directory: /plcdata/csv_logs/filename.csv o Error: Error 4 – Error during file transfer • Sandbox directory: /var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic/plcdata/csv_logs/filename.csv o Result: Download succeeds without error. Actions taken so far: 1. Added /plcdata/csv_logs to codesyscontrol.cfg (see attached). 2. Enabled file-transfer services in codesyscontrol_user.cfg (see attached). 3. Confirmed that the PLC writes CSV files correctly to /plcdata/csv_logs/. Despite these settings, WebVisu still returns Error when accessing the custom path 1. Using the placeholder file path '$$CSVLOGS$$/filename.csv' and it returns Error 6. 2. Using the literal path /plcdata/csv_logs/filename.csv and it returns Error 4 Could someone please help me determine what additional configuration or troubleshooting steps are required to serve files from /plcdata/csv_logs/? Please find screenshots attached for better understanding and I have also attached the config files

In the VPLC configuration settings there is an entry for the IP address of the license server. In this setting fill in the IP address of your device (host IP address). Then when the virtual PLC starts up, it will get the license from the license container on the host. You can do this for all VPLC's running on your device. The VPLC will always take the smallest license which fits the required license. So if you have 2 licenses for VPLC's with small and large applications, then this will work fine if you start up one VPLC which requires the small license and the other which requires the large license. PS, personally I find it much easier, especially for testing and experimenting, to activate the licenses on a CODESYS (USB) key. This is easy to activate (on your development PC) and easier to move to another device. Addtionally you don't loose the license when you need to install a completely new image on the device.

Hi Dear All, I'm using my raspberry PI4 as a CoDeSyS PLC (Build from scratch with custom electronics). I was able to implement all fieldbuses with the exception of Modbus Serial. I'm using the internal Port (GPIO) and I configured it in /etc/Codesyscontrol_user.cfg the following away: [SysCom] Linux.Devicefile.1=/dev/ttyUSB0 Linux.Devicefile.2=/dev/ttyS0 I'm using COM2 on Master configuration. I'm using a interface board from TTL/RS485 (bidirectional board), and it's works perfectly with other devices but not in CoDeSyS. I'm able to send data with python script and read it on my pc using putty, but when I use a modbus slave simulator to interface with codesys I always get red icons on master and slave. (Please find image attached). I'm pretty shure that this might be a bad parameter on my CoDeSyS runtime configurstion file. Can someone help me? I'm stuck and this is for my master degree certification.

Hello, I'm working on setup a CAM table by using the Codesys CAM Editor. My purpouse is to obtain a quadratic velocity ramp with jerk limitation motion profile, for which i define the accel/decel phases with Poly5 segment type, but the problem is that due to the fact i can "only" adjust until the acceleration, and the jerk is always setup to 0, and i cannot change the jerk values, i cannot achieve the desired results, as i need to generate jerk steps. Is there any way it can be achieved with the editor, or maybe by using PLC runtime code? Thank you in advance for your help BR, Jordi Morito

Thus, all tests would have to manually reset values when complete to prevent contamination to other tests. * It is not possible to see which statements were/weren't executed. One would have to use the flow control tool which cannot be used in conjunction with the Profiler, and must be viewed in realtime. * The profiler control cannot be automated and therefore must be executed through a manual procedure. I have raspberry pi 4 with Raspbian 12 (bookworm). I want to install the latest version of codesys control 4.11.0.0 multicore for 32 bit. I cannot install multicore and it only gives me the option to install Standard. I installed the runtime and the gateway, and I can see the pi in the communication settings. But cannot log in. I have checked the status of the pi with sudo systemctl status codesyscontrol and it is running. I have enabled traffic to and from the pi with iptables and checked the logs and all looks good. I just cannot connect through the codesys ide. Can anyone help me before I lose my mind?

Hi everyone, I’m working on a WAGO PFC100 with CODESYS. During development everything worked fine, but in the final stage I set several variables to PERSISTENT RETAIN. When I go online, most of these persistent variables cannot be monitored. Instead, I see: <Value of the expression cannot be retrieved> Interestingly, a few variables do show their values correctly, but the majority do not. The variables are not used as pointers or in any unusual way. The application compiles and runs without errors. Has anyone experienced this before? Is this a known issue with PFC100 or CODESYS? Any ideas on what could cause this behavior? Thanks in advance! Jasper
