Hello, I am trying to implement a FB to make JSON formatted WSTRING type message using JSON Utilities 1.9.0.0 included in the IIoT library. In my case, I want to set some objects or arrays and set values to them later. But when I wrote as the sample below, // init builder builder(pJsonData:=pJsonData, diRootObj=>diRootObj); // set the 1st key to root diKey1 := builder.SetKeyWithArray(wsKey:="key1", diParentIndex:=diRootObj, eError=>eError); // set a value to the 1st key wsValue:="value01"; builder.SetValue(Value:=wsValue, diParentIndex:=diKey1, eError=>eError); // set the 2nd key to root diKey2 := builder.SetKeyWithArray(wsKey:="key2", diParentIndex:=diRootObj, eError=>eError); // set a value to the 2nd key wsValue:="value02"; builder.SetValue(Value:=wsValue, diParentIndex:=diKey2, eError=>eError); // set a value to the 1st key again wsValue:="value03"; builder.SetValue(Value:=wsValue, diParentIndex:=diKey1, eError=>eError); // set a value to the 2nd key again wsValue:="value04"; builder.SetValue(Value:=wsValue, diParentIndex:=diKey2, eError=>eError); // write build result writer(xExecute:=TRUE, pwData:=ADR(wsResult), udiSize:=SIZEOF(wsResult), xAsyncMode:=FALSE, jsonData:=pJsonData^); the result was: { "key1": ["value01"], "key2": ["value02", "value03", "value04"] } while my expection was: { "key1": ["value01", "value03"], "key2": ["value02", "value04"] } Inspecting pJsonData^, JSONData itself seems to be ok, so I believe the issue is something caused by the writer FB. Does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks,

Hi Just new to motion and i am building my own 3axis cnc cutter using servo drives. i have every thing working quite well apart from mc_home. when executed (r_trig) it stops immediately and i get fb_wasnt_called_during_motion. if i execute the mc_home fb with a toggle it just runs and runs for a while then errors out. what im unsure of is the way mc_home works. from what i understand it changes the drive mode to 6 (homing) and should then run of the drive homing settings. once origin sensor is made then homing would stop and mc_home.done is true. and the position on the fb is where i what the new home position (zero) to be? or do i feed mc_readposition to that input? so i would think its the settings in the drive that aren't quite right. but i believe they are all correct. has any one got any info to steer me in the right direction? Cheers

I had the FB called via a for loop to call a few instances of my FB I have removed it the for loop and just called them 1 by 1. Seems to have sorted the problem. tho, i have other FB's and for loops doing the same thing but they are all fine. below is basically what was happening. var: mVibrator : ARRAY[1..GVL_Settings.Number_Of_Products] OF Main_Vibrator; end_var Controller(PRG) call: FOR v := 1 TO GVL_Settings.Number_Of_Products BY 1 DO; mVibrator[v] (); END_FOR So at state 30: the mVibrator[1].start was turning on 30: Main_Mixer.Start := TRUE; Process_State := 2; IF Main_mixer.Done THEN Main_Mixer.Start := FALSE; Control_State := 40; END_IF but its not till state 50: that it is actual in the code. 50: Main_Suction_valve.Open_Input := TRUE; mVibrator[1].Start := TRUE; Process_State := 4; IF GVL_Weigh_hopper.LoadCell_Weight = 0 THEN Main_Suction_valve.Open_Input := FALSE; mVibrator1.Start := FALSE; Control_State := 60; END_IF Thanks for your input.

Hey there! I am currently doing a little automation project for uni. I am trying to integrate a control-valve-system (Buerkert AirLINE Field) in my IO-Link environment. With IFM sensors, I used their pre-built function blocks, but with this third-party device, i need to write my own function block. Thankfully, IFM provides a generic sensor-fb so I can write my own FB with "extends" and "super". So far, so good. I found the IODD and some other documentation and I thought I get how it works, but somehow can't really get it to work at all. From my understanding, i need to write data into the PDO-Array. But i get confused with the indices and subindices of IO-Link. I'll append the IODD and some screenshots of my project. There is an AOI for LogicXDesigner, but I can't use that in Codesys. I hope someone has integrated a IOL-device in Codesys before and can help me with this. Cheers leafy

Hi, I have several problems with the git extension. Situation: I am working with Codesys v3.5 SP19 Patch 1 and Git V1.2.1.0. The remote repository is GitLab Community Edition v16.1.2. I am working on a project with one other person. Problems: 1: After each start of Codesys all of the visu pages are marked as modified. So we have to discard all changes first. Otherwise the history is not clean and the merge request becomes more complex. I tested it with a new project and only local. I made the observation, that a page is not marked as modified when it is committed a second time (after a restart of codesys). But this is necessary after every change of a page. However, since we are working in a team, it seems we are playing ping-pong and so all pages are marked as modified on each startup. 2: Each image pool causes a parent child conflict. Also in my local project. The only solution that I have found, is to ignore the issue. Does anyone have the same problems? I think it looks more like bugs. Thanks ewi04

Hi everybody, I've been facing problems with the PDF visualization in Web Browser. I am trying to open a pdf file called 'sample.pdf' which I manually saved inside PlcLogic/visu folder. I am setting the web browser URL as: 'http://127.0.0.1:8080/sample.pdf' but I get 'refused connection'. I got a similar error trying to open https sites and I discovered that I can only open http websites. Opening 'http://de.wikipedia.org' everything works fine. I also tried to check using code whether the sample.pdf is present in the directory. Unfortunately, when I try to read directories of 'PlcLogic' I get file FILE_OPERATION_DENIED (I am using File.DirList). I would like to be able to open PDF files in web browser. Possibly to move new PDF files in the folder as my customer wants to display different pdf manuals on the hmi. Here you find some screenshots and my .project. I am using Codesys 3.5.19.70. Best regards, Berto

Hello, like the topic name says, i have a problem on one Visu which i cannot reproduce on another Visu. We filter buttons with input locks and visible items with [CURRENTCLIENTID] on different WebVisu's with different ID's, and one time the itfClient used the same Client ID for 2 Clients, so the Visualization on the first ID was wrong, because that one which connected after did not have the same permissions like the first, so the first one was blocked. We read the Clients with the VisuClientIteration project: //count active clients gCli.iNumberOfClients:=gCli.iNumberOfClients+1; // if client is active write data to global struct IF gCli.iNumberOfClients > 0 THEN gCli.astClientInfo[gCli.iNumberOfClients-1].iClientID:=itfClient.ClientId ; gCli.astClientInfo[gCli.iNumberOfClients-1].stCurrentVisu:=itfClient.CurrentVisuName; gCli.astClientInfo[gCli.iNumberOfClients-1].wsUserName:=itfClient.UserName; gCli.astClientInfo[gCli.iNumberOfClients-1].sIpAddress:=itfClient.GetIPv4Address(); gCli.astClientInfo[gCli.iNumberOfClients-1].ClientType:=itfClient.ClientType; END_IF Runtime from the device: 3.5.19.20 Codesys we use: 3.5.20.10 I added a screenshot where the same ID exists 2 times. I have a main PLC with my CODESYS project on, including Web Visu. I also have a second device used for pump monitoring, all of this is displayed on a seperate HMI. I am looking at displaying the pump monitoring HMI on WebVisu so that I can solely use 1 HMI rather than having two. I can project the pump monitoring HMI into Chrome, and log in and it works fine. When I'm using the Web Browser element in Web Visu, enter my URL (device IP) it shows me the web page, but doesn't show me all of it. It uses parts of JavaScript for the login authenticiation and various other widgets. Similarly, I cannot get Youtube or Google to display on WebVisu either (possibily because of the same reason). Does anybody have any tips on how I can display the likes of Youtube or Google onto WebVisu so I can view it on my 7inch HMI (I suspect that if I can get Youtube or Google to work, then I will also be able to get my pump montitoring web page to work too).

I'm struggling with the implementation of the IElement interface (in the ElementCollections library), which I will use to create a SortedList. I created a class (FB) "Device" that implements this interface and that has a "Priority" property that I want to use in order to compare the devices in my implementation of the ElementCompareTo method. Unfortunately, the IElement.ElementCompareTo method needs an IElement as an input, which doesn't know about the "Priority" property of "Device". I tried to define the input itfElement as a Device, but then it doesn't want to compile, because the type in the implementation doesn't match the interface.

I want to implement an extended I2C master for Raspberry Pi Control. I was hoping for it to be as easy as creating a library with a FB that extends i2cMaster and associating it with a device following the forge drivers documentation, but I haven't managed to make it work as the driver behaves only as an i2c slave. I'm thinking this is because the forge forum only talks about extending i2c, and the master portion is omitted since most users won't want to add a custom one. I'd like to know if I'm doing something wrong. Is it really possible to make an I2C master extension device? If so, are there public examples we can check out? Any info on this topic will be appreciated.

How are the servo drives controlled? EtherCAT, step/dir pulses, other? Another thought is that - if it's step/dir pulse based control - the pulses from the PLC to the drive are getting missed/lost at high frequencies? If that's the case then there would be multiple troubleshooting steps/corrections that could be investigated. You could try to create a simplified program, with all the same parameters, that only has an MC_SetPosition FB you manually trigger and see if you are still getting the same results? When you manually control the motor directly from the servo drive software at the speeds you are calling for, does it move precisely to the target position?

Hi In the POU section of my project I have created a Fan function block and defined an alarm group template for this FB with one alarm (Motor fault). In the PLC program I define two instances of the fan function block. When going to the alarm configuration and pressing "Create or update alarm instances", I get two alarms listed. So far so good. However, when I start my program and check the alarm table in the visualization I only see one alarm, even if both are active. Am I doing something wrong, or is it not possible to define alarms on a function block level and get one set of alarms per instance of the function block?

However, when I initiate the scan from the GUI, nothing appears to happen the function is not executed. Is there an example project or driver (open source or from CODESYS Forge) that demonstrates a working custom scan implementation?

However, when trying to define a FB of the type WebClient I get a "Identifier 'WebClient' not defined" error message, setting the type to Web_Client_SL.WebClient did not work as well. Opening the example project the FBs defined there give the same error message. From the problem in the example project I deduce this is not a syntax problem, so maybe a license problem, but there should be a working demo mode, so what am I missing? Hi, Found a nice ramp function in the OSCAT lib (FT_RMP), but is there a nice way to 'set' the output to the current input as form of a reset. The reason for this, is that I want to set up a ramp for a pressure control input that should have x Bar/sec linear rise input. The only option (or code it by hand) I found is this OSCAT FB. Any other options? Just need to increase a value by x Bar/sec from let's say 250Bar (as start) to end 1500Bar. The Oscat ramp will always start at 0 when enable is off (FT_RMP.Rmp := FALSE)

Dear Forum, We are currently switching to a native Codesys controller, and I'm currently trying to determine the correct license. I have a question regarding the Modbus instances. With the Standard S license this is set to 4 (See picture). In our projects we are using a lot of communications to Modbus servers using a Codesys Controller, for this communication I'm using the ModbusFB library (supplied by 3S) (see picture). In my project I would like to use more than 4 instances of the ClientTCP FB. My question is, is this now capped at 4 possible connections with the standard S license. Or do these function blocks have a different relation with the license? Some clarity on this topic would be very welcome. Thank you in advance

The way I usally tackle this is by syncing only words (then you are able to use the FB above). If you then want to write a Boolean simply type it like this. Value[1].0 := Bool1; Value[1].1 := Bool2; Value[1].2 := Bool3; Uints have the same number of bits than a INT/WORD so these ones will work as well (they are only represented diffrently). A Real will work but you will loose some infomration in the conversion. If you want to keep the information you can convert 2 words to a float with a function (for example with the IEEE-754 standard) . In this way the syncing to the server is very simple and in the Codesys Program you decide what part of the word you want to use.

For anyone still experiencing this issue, here’s how I managed to solve it: Symptoms: 1. Sometimes, on the first start of CODESYS Runtime, the modules fail to run. 2. After disconnecting and reconnecting the communication cable, the drive does not start again. 3. MC_Reset cannot clear the fault. Solution (what worked for me): 1. Check the axis communication using the SMC_CheckAxisCommunication function block (FB). 2. If CheckAxisCommunication.eComState of the axis is equal to or higher than SMC_CommunicationState.SMC_COMSTATE_BASE_COM_INITIALIZATION, then 3. Use the SMC3_ReinitDrive function block to reset the drive — and it works. To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
