Hi DavidBo, In general Codesys is used to control equipment and an exception is the worst thing that can happen in your installation. If you cannot prevent the exception from triggering, you could implement a Try catch statement, with this solution your controller keeps on running and you are able to handle the exception. __TRY //This statement will trigger an exception Result := 4/0; __CATCH(exc) //Handle the exception HandleException(exc, strExceptionText => strExceptionText); // From the Codesys help file //Create a log file //-------------------------------------------------------- __ENDTRY What you also could do is implement implicit checks, these functions cover most of the exceptions (like dividing by zero) See picture But in general avoid a complete controller shutdown!

In my case, I use v3.5.20 on windows 11, so Winpcap is no longer supported on newer OS. Also, this hint about adding entry to the .cfg file under ProgramFiles(x86) is also not relevant anymore. I guess, I need to add entry SysEthernet to this .cfg file: C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64...\CODESYSControl.cfg like this one: [ComponentManager] Component.1=CmpTargetVisuStub Component.2=CmpWebServer Component.3=CmpWebServerHandlerV3 Component.4=SysCpuMultiCore Component.5=SysReadWriteLock Component.6=SysCpuBreakpoints Component.7=SysPipeWindows Component.8=SysEthernet But I'm not sure about Npcap vs WinpCap. Hi guys, I have a textlist in my project which is working just as expected in a drop down list. I would like to move this text list to a sd card and access it from there, because I want to ease the editing of the contents of this textlist. I'm imagining a solution like the operator shuts down the plant, takes the sd card out, edits the textlist on the card with a windows machines notepad, then reinserts the card in the PLC and restarts the plant, having the new content of the textlist populating the dropdown list. I saw in the Project>Project settings>Visualisation a relative path thingy, but I have the plant in operation and I would not like to make 100 trial and errors right now... I'm also not interested in SysLib file read commands and stuff, I would just like to access the file from the cards part, I don't want to replace its contents dynamically or such... nor I have language files or recipes... Hi everybody, I've been facing problems with the PDF visualization in Web Browser. I am trying to open a pdf file called 'sample.pdf' which I manually saved inside PlcLogic/visu folder. I am setting the web browser URL as: 'http://127.0.0.1:8080/sample.pdf' but I get 'refused connection'. I got a similar error trying to open https sites and I discovered that I can only open http websites. Opening 'http://de.wikipedia.org' everything works fine. I also tried to check using code whether the sample.pdf is present in the directory. Unfortunately, when I try to read directories of 'PlcLogic' I get file FILE_OPERATION_DENIED (I am using File.DirList). I would like to be able to open PDF files in web browser. Possibly to move new PDF files in the folder as my customer wants to display different pdf manuals on the hmi. Here you find some screenshots and my .project. I am using Codesys 3.5.19.70. If you use 3.5 SP10, then Git is not supported. SVN will work fine, but with this version you do need a USB key, because software licenses are not supported with this version. Off course you can work without SVN (or Git), but especially if you work with multiple developers on one project, it will save you a lot of time and you can keep track of all changes and improvements much easier. So how much is this worth to you?

Modbus_Serial_Device.xEnable := TRUE; Please note that after PLC reboot the values from the GUI (from your screenshot) will be applied again. So you need to save values from HMI in RETAIN and restore them after start of application.

Hello everyone, I have the task of programming a map. With the help of the visualization element "Table", I have managed to accomplish this. In the Input Configuration, I activated the option: "Write Variables", so that the user can change the values in the map. To test the program, I select the Online Mode (Simulation).There I change the values in the map. When restarting the program in CODESYS, the changes in the map are no longer there. hi, i am currently trying to adapt an i/o device for a project. the node id is unknown and there is no eds file available. no data is being emitted from the device as a giveaway, the baudrate is known but useless without the node id. is there an sdo request available to determine the id? i cannot get the device to leave pre op status even with a global nmt request. please help. no hair left.

I got the shared memory example. I'm pretty sure I'm successfully created a memory space, CreateResult returns 18. szName:='CodesysDataShare'; hShm := SysSharedMemoryCreate(szName, 0, ADR(uxiSize), ADR(CreateResult)); I'm trying to access this memory with a C# application, but I get "Unable to Find Specified File". I suspect that Codesys and/or Visual Studio code alters the name I choose? Hi, I recently got a license for Raspberry Pi, after license activation I made a backup copy of "CMLicenseNew.WibuCmRaU" file to a safe place. Things got complicated and I tried to downgrade OS for some reason after that I tried several times/ways to restore my license with no luck. the specifications are as follows: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1 codesyscontrol 4.10.0.0 SDK 3.5.19.30 Logs: **** ERROR: CodeMWriteLicenseFile: 'CMLicenseNew.WibuCmRaU' failed: Container not found or Server dose not support .... So if someone know a solution for this please kindly help me. Regards

Hi peterned, the start position given in the CNC properties is only used if you use the compile mode OutQueue. With compile mode SMC_CNC_REF, you need to provide the start position in the IEC application. The function block SMC_NCInterpreter has an input piStartPosition. You can initialize it with the output of the forward kinematic transormation FB for your machine. In your case probably SMC_TRAFOF_Gantry2. Best regards, Georg

Update: I started over. I saved progress at each step. all compiled zero errors, zero warnings. Pre-processor messages remain, but I can make progress. Until I try to re- load the project file in Codesys. Re-loaded files error as above when compiled, even though they compiled error-free immediately before saving. Is my installation borked? (Not easy to re-install due to IT madness...)
