Hi all, I am using CoDeSys V3.5 and a soft controller Win V3x64. I am trying to read a modbus slave via Function Blocks and not via the channels of the hardware tree for the Slave. I created some requests of type ModbusRequest and I notice that I can read Input Registers and Coils but I can not write Holding Registers and Coils. I am using the library IoDrvModbusTCP 4.1.0.0. When i just use a single modbus request with FC06 (or FC16), there is no request sent to the slave and although the xExecute takes its true value from a pulse of 2 seconds duration, I take almost every 3 minutes an error "TCP_COMMUNICATION_ERROR - 16#A5 - TCP Port. error. Request was not sent". My code is ok because if i change the function code for reading registers, everything works fine. Did anyone have this issue in the past? Thank you in advance.

Hi! Im slowly starting to loose it and i need som help! After a few night of reading up and testing i´m still stuck as a rock and you guys and girls are my last resort for this project. Basic facts; Win 11 Codesys 3.5 SP19 2 + (64-bit) Raspberry pi 4 model b 2 gb Raspian release 11 aarch64 What keeps me up late at night; Username and Password when trying to connect to device and device only beeing connectable for a few seconds. Some of the things I have tried; Username and passord; Credientials from the raspberry Administrator Administrator admin admin Admin Admin administrator administrator Usernames and passwords that I sometimes use (this was a longshot i know, but i was running out of ideas and energy). :) Epand filesystem, activating i2c, spi, 1-wire I can start the gateway and start the runtime. I cant install the edgearm64, arm64 runtime package eventhough I guess i should, i get code [ERROR] Error output: dpkg: error processing archive /tmp/codesysedge_edgearm64_4.8.0.0_arm64.deb (--install): [ERROR] Error output: package architecture (arm64) does not match system (armhf) [ERROR] Error output: Errors were encountered while processing: [ERROR] Error output: /tmp/codesysedge_edgearm64_4.8.0.0_arm64.deb code as a respons. I have tried to Reset Origin Device - no change. I have tried to remove the /etc/CODESYSControl_User.cfg [CmpUserMgr] but i could not find it and i was not sure if i should add it instead but i did not want to mess somthing up. I have tried to create a second gateway with the specific ip if the pi, that did not help. Could it be that i´m currently connected to the pi through WIFI? I can ping the pi and I can connect and control it through VNC. When i scan to select gateway target (scan edge gateway) i find 17-21 devices but can find the pi throug the mac adress. I started of trying to use the "CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL" (I have a license sience earlier) as i read somewhere that this could be used on a Pi4 as well but now i´m trying with the MC SL, no changes, same problem. Right now - gateway version 4.8.0.0 (edgearmHF, armhf), Runtime Package 4.5.0.0 (raspberry, armhf). Any sugestions are very welcome! As mentioned above, theese are some of the things that i have tried/done - but i have been going at this for a while. Best, Martin

Reading the file "codesyscontrol.log" I see these logs OPC UA Server Started: Hostname: NTLRPICTRL01, Port: 4840 URL: opc.tcp://NTLRPICTRL01:4840 Loopbackadapter activated. **All available networkadapters are used.** Multithreading activated. 3 workers used. My controller, which is a Linux PC, has got two network cards eth0 and eth1 I whant to use the card with name "eth0" as a server for OPCUA and keep the "eth1" free for other stuffs. Is it possible ? Hello :) We are currently configuring a system with Codesys as SoftPLC on a Linux system and with Beckhoff terminals. I have already gained some experience with Codesys and also with TwinCat incl. TwinCAT Safety. What is new to me now is Codesys in conjunction with Beckhoff safety terminals. We are currently using an EL1918 & EL2904 here. I have been able to integrate both terminals into my project, but I don't know how to interconnect them so that they communicate. That's a bit easier with Twincat ^^ Can any of you help me? I would also prefer a Codesys EtherCAT Safety training or webinar if anyone knows of one. Unfortunately I can't find such an event on the internet.

Hello, Up until yesterday (2023/11/20) I was able to connect to the PLC remotely with no issues through Edge Gateway. However, today I can see the Edge Gateway online but I can find the PLC even if I do a network scan. Following the same path as janber0206 @ https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/automation_server/thread/e78b11d7e9/, I looked into certificates and found that one of the Trusted publisher certificates has expired earlier today (2023/11/21). Please see image. Questions are: Does it affect the connection to the PLC through Edge Gateway? How do I fix it? Thank you very much in advance!

However, it should work because there are many examples available, although none of them were programmed using Codesys, but rather using Python. My Raspberry Pi will be the master and is supposed to exchange measurement data such as speed and battery capacity with the slave (Arduino). I am trying to make a LD program for an existing installation with a motor. Here an inductive sensor is used to give an input, as a check to verify the conveyor is actually running. Here the plan was to use a TOF timer which gets constantly reset when the sensor input gets detected. The problem is, that if the conveyor is stuck, and the sensor sends a continous signal, the timer will never do what it is supposed to do. Therefor I need some help on how I can convert the input to a pulse, with the help of something like a SOTU. I just cannot find this in codesys anywhere.

Hi everyone, I use Python Script to generate some POU in Codesys V3.5 SP19 and I would like to limit the "Access Control" to them thanks to the Python command. Is there any commands that allow to edit the "Properties... >> Access Control" of the POU? The other possibility is to set the permissions with "Project >> User Management >> Permissions... >> Project objects >> Modify >> ... >> myPOU", but I did not find the related Python commands. Hello all, I am facing issues with using SysCom library. With SysCom23 library things were simple but since we are migrating to 64bit systems, I am writing a Porting program. With SysCom23, opening the comport was as simple as providing the ComPort no. which returns the Handle as a DWORD. dwHandle:=SysComOpen(Port); But the new library is a bit different. It is asking for 2 input parameters to open the Com Port - Port Number and POINTER to RTS_IEC_RESULT IF hCom = 0 THEN hCom := SysComOpen(ComSettings.sPort, ADR(pResult)); How should I use the RTS_IEC_Result? I can find RTS_IEC-REUSLT under SysType2Interfaces of SysCom library. Also, can someone give me a general understanding of this RTS_IEC_REULT and RTS_IEC_HANDLE, etc.?

Now i am running to problem, when i create instances and i want them to appear directly under the object directory, However, it always appear with me under Objects >> Device set >> Device Name in CODESYS. I need to know how i can change the directory of my instances 'inst_3' and so on. So they can be under objects directly. I tried to modify the settings, but couldn't find any leads till now. Hello everyone. Raspberry Pi CM4 after some 1 week of work was hard reset mannualy several times and after these hard resets User Management file was missed (when click login button, enter login/password, error: User Management File missed). Also programm can not open file via SysFile library, but this file exists and size of him is 0 bytes, but must be more any way (I keep some kind of archive via this lib). What happens, how files corrupted? Where do I need try to find this error of the codesys or system whole? In the log files of codesys nothing interesting about this happens. Thanks for reading Is this enough hold PlcLogic and SysFileMap.cfg as reserve copy in another place for restoring the programm? And how automate restoring actions if programm files corrupted?

Hi All, I use the analysis page in automation server to capture historical trends from my PLC - i only sample one point per hour but it does the job (for now) One issue I have is I often log on to analysis page to find the system has stopped recording trends from my PLC. To fix this, I need to choose "state information" in the "List view" under PLC and click "Reconnect" When I do this I see my variables listed under "parameters" under "PLC Details" start updating again and the trend in Data analyzer continues to update. My Question, Why do I need to manually reconnect? Is there a way to get automation server to automatically reconnect to the PLC so I continue to capture data from the PLC? Regards, Trent

I am using CODESYS v3.5 SP20 Patch 3 / Control for BeagleboneBlack SL v4.13 and after some time the OPC UA Server crashes. However, Runtime still works without any issues. The events leading up to the OPC server crash are the most suspicious: 1) Mutex deadlock detected - owner thread died, and 2) Runtime received SIGABRT. And it seems very similar with this topic except used versions - issues should be fixed with previous SP's. I can't seem to find any information about these events. Need some pointers in the right direction on how I can fix this problem.

Hi, I tried some different libraries (CmpApp etc.) to find some global variables that I could read out as a variable in the codesys environment. Do any one of you know which libraries are best suited for this, and how I can read it out? My goal is to send messages, warnings etc. to the system that communicates to the PLC. Currently if something goes wrong I need to see the logfiles, or go online with the controller. I think I could save a lot of time if I could read the errors from our user interface that is connected to the PLC by TCP/IP.

I feel like this is a setting issue and I can't seem to find the right setting. I have a new project that I'm looking to add visualizations to however when I select my template size (1280 x 800) I make sure in my properties under the visualization tab, I have "Use specified visualization size" selected and my width set at 1280 and height set at 800. Now within my visualization editor I can't see to get the size outside of my template to grey out. I've attached a PDF showing what I'd like the visualization editor to look like and what mine currently looks like. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a visualization I'm working on with some rectangles and lines. When I simulate the program I get an Error and Message in my message box, "Error during Updating the Visualisation:" and "Overflow error." Any ideas on how to fix this? I only have 70 elements total for this visualization. I am using absolute movement for a few of the elements, would this cause the issue? The visualization seemed fine before I added these movement elements, but there is only 7 that move, that doesn't seem like it should over load the system. I am currently testing using simulation so I'm not sure if that has an effect either. I tried looking in the codesys help manual and couldn't find anything referencing this.

I couldn't exactly solve the file transfer when I wanted to do multiple transfers while the compiler was open in a way that I couldn't understand. Hi all I found that in the last Ethercat master release (4.8.0.0) the Mailbox Gateway feature has been added. This would be useful for me to connect to a specific slave in my system, since its configuration software supports this type of gateway communication. Anyway I don't find usage information or examples. At the moment I tried to enable it in the ethercat master device settings and I configured with an IP address on the subnet of the ethercat adapter (i.e. ethercat nic configured with static ip 192.168.10.100 subnet 255.255.255.0, mailbox gateway configured to 192.168.10.30). I expected it would have responded to ping commands on the address but nothing happens. I am missing something?

Hi @tk096, Thank you for your response. Here is example project file and some screenshot for your analysis regarding this matter. In order to reproduce the problem on your side and make it independent of the hardware, I simulated the encoder counter incrementally for the master in this example. I configured a virtual axis as the slave motion axis. The problem occurs in the same way in the real hardware configuration (servo drive connected to Ethercat and hardware incremental encoder) in MC_CamIn. I hope this example helps you see the problem on your side and understand and find the source of the problem with FreeEncoderAxis for Softmotion 4.17.0.0. Best Regards, Imdat

Or you need to modify the file codesyscontrol.cfg for change path permission, but this is another history Buone feste !

For my own ENUM variable I have declared and enabled text list value is displayed as text, but I need enum text displayed from softMotion and other internal FB's. In the picture I have one of desired ENUM variable setup, but in the visu I have number, but in the watch window it's text. There is probably some checkbox to tick, but was looking for an hour, can't find a solution. Would apreciate some help

I was able to find the manual downloads for the CODESYS Edge Gateway and CodeMeter, but I’m still stuck on the other two dependencies: CODESYS Control SL Extension v4.0.0.0 CODESYS Control SL Deploy Tool v4.10.0.0 Since you’ve encountered the same problem, I’d really appreciate any help or insights you can share on how you were able to resolve it.
