Hey Guys :) I have the following Problem using Modbus via Codesys: I'm trying to implement a Modbus Device into my codesys project. The device is a Router from Teltonika (RUT956) and it can communicate via Modbus. Currently I'm trying to implement it into my codesys prject as a slave and I'm using my windows computer as master. As it is not a codesys device (the codesys application is not uploaded to device as it has its own software) I'm having problems requesting and reading registers from the router. I've set up my windows computer as Master and implemented the router as slave. When I go online on my master device it sais that it has established a connection to the slave (router)(So I'm thinking this could work as there is a connection?). The goal is to read the GPS (latitude and longitude) data and on the homepage of teltonika you can find the register address and number of registers (adress 143 for latitude and 145 for longitude; both have a number of two registers). I've found tutorials how to read specific registers via their register address with other modbus programs (like modbus-cli), but as my entire project is established in codesys I was hoping to read these specific registers via codesys so that I can show the GPS data on my dashboard. I've tried establishing slave channels but that hasn't been working. I tried read input register channels of the length 4 but it's not possible to define specific register addresses to read via codesys so that didn't work (I jsut get a slaves device failure) and I've also tried establishing 516 (total number of registers the router sends I think?) read inputregister channels but that has the samle failure... So i guess the problem I'm having is establishing slave channels to read these specific registers. Does anyone know how to tackle this problem and has maybe had the same problem? Or maybe someone knows a workaround? I'm quite new to codesys so maybe I'm also lacking expertise...

Hey guys, I'm very much a noob with networking, it's my achillies heel, and this is my first networking project using Ethernet/IP. Any help offered is GREATLY appreciated. I'm trying to network a Codesys Project with an Omron NX1P2 PLC. I'm using EIP due to hardware restrains. I've added the fieldbus, EIP scanner (as the master), and made a Network Variable List. On the Sysmac Studio end, I've made the variables and set them to network inputs/outputs, registered them in EIP settings, but when I try to set the target device (the Codesys project), I suspect I need to import an EDS file for the EIP mapping. Back in the Codesys project, I'm not sure how to: - Make an EDS file to share with Sysmac Studio - How to link the target device (Omron PLC) to the EIP fieldbus - How to map the inputs from the Omron PLC. Im sorry for my very open request for help, i'm kind of lost looking through the various forums/video/tutorials as many of them dont match what im trying to do. I've recently started experimenting with CODESYS for a project and am fairly new to it. I'm currently working with Function Block Diagrams (FBD) to set up TCP communication between a server and a client, where the client is implemented as a Python script. Once the communication is established, my connection status changes to True, which is the expected behavior. My challenge arises with the TCP write module, which requires the xEnable_write flag to toggle between True and False. If xEnable_write remains True, the module only performs a single write operation. To address this, I introduced a falling edge trigger (F_TRIG), expecting it to help in toggling xEnable_write and it does, However, I've encountered an issue where in the beginning after connxion established I need to manually set xEnable_write to True for the system to work as intended. I'm looking for a way to automate this process so that xEnable_write becomes True automatically upon establishing a connection . Initially, I tried setting xEnable_write to True from the start, but this approach didn't work well since it left the flag permanently True, preventing further toggling. I also experimented with using a TON timer, but I faced similar issues. I am seeking a solution that automatically toggles xEnable_write between True and False after a connection is established, ensuring continuous write operations without manual intervention. Any advice or guidance on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated."

Although I have set in /etc/codesyscontrol/CODESYSControl_User.cfg the [SysFile] PlaceholderFilePath.1=/media/pi, $usb$ PlaceholderFilePath.1.View=1 PlaceholderFilePath.1.Volatile=1 I am not able to copy a file to this directory defined by the placeholder. Neither SysProcess.SysProcessExecuteCommand2 nor SysFileCopy nor FileCopy is working. If I try to copy the same file to /home/pi all is working fine. I also can create and open a different file by using SysFileOpen. I don't understand why the system allows to open (create) and write files into that directory but doesn't allow to copy into it. Obviously there is a rights problem with the USB drive. I have already set the permissions to drwxr-xr-x 2 and the user to pi but without any success. With 3.5.16 I never had such an issue. Is there anybody with some hints how to solve that problem? Cheers, canplum

Hi all. I am currently struggling to get my Wago PFC200 running the Codesys Runtime in version 4.9.0.0 working. I am using Codesys V3.5SP19. I updated the PFC200 to the firmware version 04.01.10(23) after having tried the latest version (04.03.03(25) from Wago and not being able to start the runtime. After reading version 23 was needed, I changed to that and at least was able to have it start the codesys runtime. I also installed the "Codesys Control for PFC200 SL 4.9.0.0" plugin for Codesys to install the Codesys runtime in version 4.9.0.0 as well as update the Gateway on the device. While I seem to be able to connect to the gateway on the PLC (the dot is green) and when doing a scan, I do now find my PFC200, which is a huge improvement to before, where with firmware version 25 it just failed to start the runtime and I never found any device when doing a scan. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to connect to the PLC in codesys. I logged in via SSH and changed the password and I can see that this password is correct as the stuff in the Codesys PFC200 tools tab only works if I use my changed password. And I used those credentials to update the installed Runtime version, which the log claimed to have worked fine. Now whenever I try to connect to the device found in the scan, I get a authentication pop-up with empy device name, device address: 000A. As User I use "root" and as password the password that I changed it to. As a response I just get "Ungültige Benutzerauthentifizierung auf dem Gerät" (Eng. probably something like "Invalid user authentication on the device". What could I be doing wrong? Hello, Exulting the command /opt/CoDeSysControl/Files/run restart debug I get this response from the linux terminal:(ScreenShot1 to ScreenShot7) When I try to reconnect via codesys this line appears at the linux terminal level:(ScreenShot8) A few seconds later, the error window appears on Codesys.(ScreenShot9) I see that following the command /opt/CoDeSysControl/Files/run restart debug there are errors, are they the problem? I have tried to use the rev24 (the device repository entry not from 'scan for devices') and i keep getting 'invalid output mapping' or 'invalid input mapping' in the ethercat log. I cant even get the bus to run from the device description that comes from 'scan for devices'...

hi, i am currently trying to adapt an i/o device for a project. the node id is unknown and there is no eds file available. no data is being emitted from the device as a giveaway, the baudrate is known but useless without the node id. is there an sdo request available to determine the id? i cannot get the device to leave pre op status even with a global nmt request. please help. no hair left.

Hello? I have a problem with datasource... I am trying to connect to a OPCUA server. I create a datasource, but I can not login into it. I need to use login credentials to login... Everything works fine in UAExpert, but in codesys I cant seem to get in properly using the login credentials... I have tried to configure the datasource initializer but seem to keep failing... Do I need to call it somewhere ? Will the find endpoints work with this configured to store my password ? !

What I have realized that if I use for Label/Caption etc. string variable (%s) it is not included in translation list. Maybe the CODESYS HMI is a good solution. https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-hmi-sl-bundle.html Run this on the remote main control station. In the HMI application you can add the data source manager and to this manager you can add Data sources. A data source has a reference to the PLC you want to connect to and can get access to the variables of the PLC application. You can then use these variables in the visualization of the HMI application.

I have developped a function block 'Axis' the inherits from 'AXIS_REF_SM3' -> FUNCTION_BLOCK Axis EXTENDS AXIS_REF_SM3 In my global variable list I define a variable MasterDrive of type Axis and assign Axis1. Axis1 is a virtual drive (AXIS_REF_VIRTUAL_SM3). This type should inherit from AXIS_REF_VIRTUAL. VAR_GLOBAL MasterDrive : Axis := Axis1; However I get the error 'Cannot convert type'. What is the way to obtain what I want : function block inheriting AXIS_REF_SM3 and initialising this function block with a Softmotion virtual or real axis?

There seem to be problems with the latest version of raspberry pi os 64bit (I used the lite version). The codesys control runtime crashes after a few seconds. The same runtime works on the raspberry pi image from 2023-10-10 When starting the runtime from the commandline, i get the following error: ooops... this runtime was build for RASPBERRYPI. Hardware version or firmware version not supported! (and yes, I'm running this on a raspberry pi :-)

Hi there, I am trying to open a codesys project done by someone else and Once I install all the libraries I get this error [ERROR] : Library Manager [PROJECT 01: PLC Logic: Application]: Could not open library 'SysSocket23, * (System)'. (Reason: The library 'SysSocket23, * (System)' has not been installed to the system.) SysSocket23 is a standard library and I also tried using the same OSCAT library which was from the original computer that made this code. Using CODESYS V3.5 SP18 Patch 2 Please help me how to solve this problem.

Is there someone who knows how big of a effort it would be to update Stefan's original code to make it work with a more up to date version of codesys or should i downgrade my system? andrax - are you using a downgraded version of codesys or have you downgraded all the libraries? @eschwellinger do you have any examples of using a USB barcode scanner? I have read through the forums here and I am unable to find how to get the barcode data to populate in a text field without having to first click into the text field to activate it. Is there a library that allows you to access the barcode data? I am really new to this in general any help is greatly appreciated, hopefully you have a pretty clear example

Hi geoweil, have you tried to save changed values to remanent area or using a VAR RETAIN? After restart you have to initialize Counter with last remanent value. Depending on changes per cycle and the possibilitiy of your control unit to write remanent storage. Otherwise you need a buffering system to ensure save backup of last PI_Counter value. Hello I am using FTP_CLIENT to donwnload/Upload a text or CSV file from FTP server. UpLoading from PLC to FTP server is working without any problem but when I try to download from FTP server I get an error. The FTP_CLIENT Block allows me to add URL but I do not where I can specify the direcory to save the downloaded file... is there anyone has an experience with downloading from FTP server using FTP_CLIENT block. I got the shared memory example. I'm pretty sure I'm successfully created a memory space, CreateResult returns 18. szName:='CodesysDataShare'; hShm := SysSharedMemoryCreate(szName, 0, ADR(uxiSize), ADR(CreateResult)); I'm trying to access this memory with a C# application, but I get "Unable to Find Specified File". I suspect that Codesys and/or Visual Studio code alters the name I choose?
