Hello, I am new to Codesys and PLC programming in general (please go easy ha!) I'm not looking for code to be written for me just some help and pointing in the right direction. I am writing some code to send commands to a relay based on input values (to put it simply). Quite basic stuff. I have wrote a function block that takes a global variable (Open_command:BOOL) and outputs to another global variable (Opened : BOOL). The function block is simulating a device so I'll eventually get the globals from that. I now need to create multiple versions of this function block/ device (lets say 100) but I need each iteration of that function block to reference it's own relevant global variable. I think that the best way of doing this would be to use arrays, although I could be wrong. I am aware that for up to 100 instances I could very well manually assign everything but that seems rather time consuming and I want a fancier way of doing it. Here is a very basic example of what I am looking to do, please note I have not written this in proper code it's just to show what I mean. Global Variables V[0-100] int Open_command [0-100] Bool Opened [0-100] Bool Function Block var input x : BOOL Var output y : BOOL if x then y = TRUE ELSE y = FALSE The input to my function block will be Open_command, output will be Opened Example code. If V[x] > 10 then Open_command [x] = TRUE ELSE Open_command [x] = FALSE (So when V1 goes above 10 I need Open_command1 = TRUE therefore initiating FB1 output. V2 > 10, open_command2 = True > FB2 output V3 > 10, open_command3 = True > FB3 output ... ... ) What I can't seem to figure out is how to tie all this together, I have read through the codesys documentation and if anything it has confused me more! ha. I have noticed that Codesys doesn't provide option to Export any Visualization objects even though there is option to check to export VISU_TASK, which is strange because when Import in another empty project, user will end up with build errors. I understand that probable reason for this is that PLCOpenXML specification includes only "PLC" parts of the project (POU, PRG, variable lists, device ....), but not sure about it. Perhaps, there is some option to include visu objects also in the plcopen xml export list??

I am deploying a webvisu on Codesys 3.5 SP 19.2 with legacy user management. I noticed that when a user logs in, some text and a rectangle I have (for aesthetics) both disappear. I made sure that none of the objects in question are linked to a state variable. Anyone know the cause/solution to this? Nothing crucial to the machine's function is lost, but it is a little annoying.

You could work around this problem by implementing some sort of "state machine". Each dialog sets a boolean variable when they are closed so you know which dialog was closed. Then you can react to this accordingly.

Only logged in to agree with the above. So counter intuitive. Why does an associated action force the variable when the step it is associated to is not active? Makes no sense at all, is terrible to debug and costs a lot of time. Such as shame.

I am trying to create an icon on an overview screen that depicts if an alarm group has active alarms, active acknowledged alarms, or inactive unacknowledged alarms (waiting for confirmation). I've attempted to set up Notification Actions in the Alarm Class to set variables based on state changes but have been unable to find a clean and effective way to do this. Because an action on any alarm will trigger the variable to be set as instructed, I'm struggling to find a way to configure it for what I need (ie if two alarms activate, then one deactivates, the variable for indicating an alarm is active would be cleared after the single deactivation). I've been pointed toward the Alarm Manager example project but I'm finding it too complicated to understand how to implement it in my own project. Has anyone come up with another good way to indicate the states of alarms or a simpler usage of the Alarm Manager functions?

Hello, the problem was that the 4.6.0.0 Codesys control was not compatible with S versions of the RevPi controller because of the becuase of the Compute Module 4S. For those controllers, 4.8.0.0 version must be used.

Hello, I have a counter that increments an INT value once per minute I want to display this value in Minutes until 60, then Hours/Minutes thereafter on the HMI Codesys V3.5 SP16 I can divide the minutes by 60 to get hours, but then the minutes is still more than 60. Example: a process has run for 350 Minutes. I need to display "5 Hours 50 Minutes" But if it's only been 45 Minutes, I don't want "0 Hours 45 Minutes" , just "45 Minutes"

Hi, I'm wondering if it exist a button or a keyboard shortcut (much much better) for "collapse all" the open folder on a codesys project. It would really be nice to have. Also: Are there some options or configuration for set a default zoom for the different editor (or even one global), for example I would like to have 100% on ST, LD editor and have 80% on Visualization Editor; and also have a button to set all the zooms to default, now it seems that every file mantain the one previously set. I'm working with the 3.5.20.10 right now Thanks!

Hello, I have very similar problem, but it seems that your solution does not work for me. I am using TwinCAT XAE Shell v3.1.4024.55 and TwinCAT Runtime. Sorry for writing here on codesys forge, but since I found the only relevant topic here and since TwinCAT is almost the same with CODESYS in many applications, I chose to write here. I simply need to dynamically update image in visualization based on camera trigger (I am doing a machine vision application). Camera triggers an image, my program processes it (applies thresholding, draws contours etc...) and saves the processed image in the runtime location (the same one you were mentioning). This was done successfully. I need to make it work at runtime, while the program is executing and I need to refresh the image in the visualization each time camera triggers a new image and program processes it. When I create image element in the visualization and define the bitmap ID variable as STRING which contains the image ID defined in the image pool, then it displays the image in the image pool, but does not work at runtime, while the program is executing. I also used the Bitmap Version. I declared it in Global variable list as integer with initial value of 0 and wrote the variable in the bitmap version in the image element in visualization. Each time new image is saved to the runtime location, I wrote a program to increment Bitmap Version by 1. It increments and the image does not update in the visualization, unfortunately. I think that bitmap version is working correctly and deletes the cached image as it is supposed to, but the Image Pool does not update the image ID with the new image... the path to the image is always the same... only the actual image changes with the same file name. Image Pool is not dynamic and cannot refresh the image in the path to the actual one at runtime. How can I refresh the image ID in the image pool at runtime? Bitmap version only deletes cached image and reloads the image from the image ID, but the image ID has the same image, because image pool won't update at runtime. Do you know any solution to this problem?

Hello, I made this configuration, I'm moving the encoder value to SM_Driver_PosControl.in.wActPosition. When I make the absolute movement of my PosControl axis, my physical drive axis rotates perfectly, but I noticed that the movement is not followed by the encoder. That is, if I hold the encoder and keep it in position 0, the PosControl axis makes the absolute movement of 314 mm and stops, which is strange because the encoder is at 0. Theoretically, the PosControl axis should accelerate to try to compensate for the movement error. I haven't yet achieved perfect functionality.

I am looking for some help with using Gifs in the WebVisu of codesys 3.5.18.40 as the model we tried with ladder logic does not animate the Gif and leaves as the first image of the Gif. Is there a way for ST or LL for it to be animated?
