Why do you develop things like this? The workflow should be highly dependent on autocomplete, then if that's not super obvious browse to definition and everything is made clear possibly with the checking of a few types. The nature of how things are done makes me think these libraries aren't developed for general use and are actually internal or for partners. The example projects include objects that don't appear in autocomplete and then lead nowhere obvious when browsing. Do you consider developer workflow when creating these libraries? Are some libraries really for public use such as Visu Utils and others not? If so which? It's really hard to tell.

Hello, I have a project using some EPEC PLC's. Some of them are programmable using Ethernet and some use CAN. We currently have a Raspberry Pi that is acting as a gateway to the Codesys Automation Server and is successfully working for the PLC's communicating over ethernet. I am trying to achieve a similar result for the PLC's that have only CAN access. I have PEAKCan drivers on the Pi, and can successfully send/receive messages. But the Gateway does not recognise the PLC when scanned from the Automation server online. Is there a library or service that exists to translate the CAN messaging, to the Edge Gateway, and be able to achieve remote access with the Automation Server? Or is this not possible without creating something custom? Cheers, Daniel

Hi In the POU section of my project I have created a Fan function block and defined an alarm group template for this FB with one alarm (Motor fault). In the PLC program I define two instances of the fan function block. When going to the alarm configuration and pressing "Create or update alarm instances", I get two alarms listed. So far so good. However, when I start my program and check the alarm table in the visualization I only see one alarm, even if both are active. Am I doing something wrong, or is it not possible to define alarms on a function block level and get one set of alarms per instance of the function block?

Yes, it is possible to set breakpoints and use step into / step over (also in Ladder diagram). Yes, the PLC will actually stop, so be carefull with this. How a PLC works is that at the start of the execution of the Task, the Inputs are read, then the code is being executed and then the outputs are written. So if you set a breakpoint, you will not see your analog inputs changing, because the task cycle is interrupted and the inputs and outputs are not refreshed. However, when I try to write data obtained using SysProcessExecuteCommand2 to the database using fbMsSQL_compact(FUN), an error message "Dest server on ip address:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and port:1433 is unreachable" appears and writing is not possible. From what I have researched, it seems that writing is not completed in one cycle of fbMsSQL_compact(FUN), and when SysProcessExecuteCommand2 is executed first in the second cycle, the work done in one cycle of fbMsSQL_compact(FUN) is reset. Could you please give me some advice?

Hello, if I try to use ERR_Ok in my code to check whether the file is open correctly or not, I get an error "Identifier ERR_OK not recognized", I can use plain 0 (zero) instead. Hi All Not sure what im missing here but i seem to have a lot of issues when i start a project say at home then try to open it at work the next day on another pc, using same version of Codesys. I try the build option when opening the project but still get loads of placeholder,library and some random errors i'm not to sure about. have tied project Archive, which is better, but not perfect. Interesting, thanks! Didnt know about ANY before, and will sure find a use-case for it. Im not sure it will help me here though, it seems to me that an ANY will not accept a string assignment? I actually think that the "ALIAS" should work, that was a hard found error. I had a fair bit of scratching my head looking for misdirected pointers before I understood what was (not) happening. I will use the work-around of individual structs instead.

Hey tk96 Thank you for your help. I have found the reason why fbreader stuck. It was not the program but it was the gcode itself. G21 command blocks the reader. And multiple G codes in a line also blocks the reader. My code was: N010 G21 G17 G90 -> Blocked the reader When i change it to: N010 G90 N020 G17 Then it worked. The only thing i did not get is why the reader did not thwor error. ErrorId was SMC_NO_ERROR. Anyway, it is now working. Thanks again.

Good day, Currently running a project on a windows 10 IPC with TargetVisu. the project starts and runs but the TargetVisu screens will not accept a touch on the monitor but will work with a mouse. I have the option to use as a touchscreen active. I did not put my license on the device just yet. Do you have to have the license activated on the device before the TargetVisu will work via a touch? running Codesys v3.5 SP 19 Patch 6, 64bit. device is Codesys Control Win v3 X64

Hello there, I have an eip adapter running (remotely) that is sending data back to eip scanner (running on codesys). I can send data from scanner (codesys) to the adapter but not getting the data back from the adapter. I have verified the incoming data on wireshark but I don't see this data in the codesys. I have tried local variable mapping and global variable mapping not variable values just stays at 0. Please guide.

Good morning, I think that the mode Simulation does not support the Softmotion functionnality because it runs the CODESYS process with normal priority wich is not a good thing for real-time behavior. If you want to test your PLC project, please use a Codesys Control Softmotion (and your computer must have the Ethercat driver installed) or much easier, download your code into the C6 Smart. BR

Hi We have picked up an issue OSCAT_BASIC.Scale_r function call not working in the old lad and FBD version 4.60. Gives no output on the function call. When we convert this to LAD2 it works. As can be see by the two screenshot in normal LD not working in LAD2 it works. Please confirm if this is an issue with Oscat or with LAD in 3.5.21sp3, is there an workaround. Regards Shaun

Thank you for your quick response, I have updated to the 4.17.0 (Virtual control and the license server). Now I am able to see the softcontainer from the Codesys IDE. But when I want to activate the license I get the following message: Licensing info not available. The device does not support this service (See picture). I then tried to active it via the WBM service like you suggested. But when I try this is get an error (see picture for error). I also tried to put RTS- in front of the serial number, but when I try this I get an error that the serial number is not correct. I think I'm getting closer, but I'm not there yet.

16.4 Epis What has it to do with the manufacture? It just a licence more not. So basicly the idee of codesys sucks. 3s acts like its posible to add a license. And then it depence on the manufacturer. Why ?? Its a computer !! has nothing to do with the manufacturer. Most dont what a basic licence because they have to pay for that. 3s is the problem not the manufacture of the hardware. Its like the licence of the raspberry pi. HMI is not working. Sorry you get a refund. Why suggest that its possible wen its not !!. It cost me a lot of time. Who pays my time. Why do i have to pay for somting thats not working.

It seems like the VisuElems library has updated functions to the ones you used but apparently these older ones still work, even if I couldn't find them in the library documentation and they are also not suggested automatically by Codesys (when using Ctrl + Space). Hello, my PFC200 has run for a few month now without problems. But now it freezed 2 times a day. LEDs were green but the PLC was not reachable. After power off -> on. I found that the MQTT had an error: MAX_RECEIVE_BUFFER_SIZE_EXCEEDED. And MQTT hadn't reconnect since then. I tried a cold and a warm reset but nothing helped. How can I solve this? Regards, Paul

I've got a Weintek HMI with CodeSYS built-in. I've got it connecting to CodeSYS and downloaded. The connection guide says I need to add a symbol configuration by right-clicking on the application and adding it, but it does not show up in the available objects. Is there something else I have to do to create a symbol configuration object?

Hi! I tried to start Codesys V3.5 SP11 program and this error message popped up (see attachment). Program worked fine last week. I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the program but it did not help. If I choose Ignore or Retry options the program works expect the UI is missing. Any ideas how to fix this?
