Post by micik on Using Codesys example problems CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello to all, I'm totally new to Codesys, but I do have some PLC programming experience, mosty with Siemens TIA and STEP7. I have just installed Codesys 3.5. sp19 and I have downloaded example with Ethernet Rockwell 1734AENT. The example can be found here: https://forge.codesys.com/prj/codesys-example/rockwell-1734-c/home/Home/ After opening, I had to manually update devices (Device, Ethernet, IP Scanner, EthernetIP adapter). However, when trying to build the project, I get the following errors: [WARNING] CODESYS_EtherNetIP_Rockwell1734AENT: Library Manager [Device: PLC Logic: Application]: C0100: Library System_VisuElemXYChart has not been added to the Library Manager, or no valid license could be found [WARNING] CODESYS_EtherNetIP_Rockwell1734AENT: Library Manager [Device: PLC Logic: Application]: C0100: Library system_visuinputs has not been added to the Library Manager, or no valid license could be found [ERROR] iodrvethernetip, 4.4.1.0 (3s - smart software solutions gmbh): ServiceCycle [IoDrvEtherNetIP]: C0040: Function 'ProcessUpdateConfigurationQueue' requires exactly '1' inputs [ERROR] iodrvethernetip, 4.4.1.0 (3s - smart software solutions gmbh): IoDrvStartBusCycle [IoDrvEtherNetIP]: C0040: Function 'GenerateRandomUINT' requires exactly '2' inputs [ERROR] iodrvethernetip, 4.4.1.0 (3s - smart software solutions gmbh): Cyclic [GenericServiceUnConnected]: C0040: Function 'GenerateRandomUINT' requires exactly '2' inputs [ERROR] cip object, 4.4.1.0 (3s - smart software solutions gmbh): ForwardOpenService [ConnectionManager]: C0040: Function 'GetAssemblies' requires exactly '3' inputs [ERROR] iodrvethernetipadapter, 4.4.0.0 (3s - smart software solutions gmbh): ServiceCycle [IoDrvEtherNetIPAdapter]: C0040: Function 'GenerateRandomUINT' requires exactly '2' inputs [ERROR] iodrvethernetip, 4.4.1.0 (3s - smart software solutions gmbh): SetupStructuredIOMapping [RemoteAdapter]: C0040: Function 'MallocData' requires exactly '1' inputs [ERROR] iodrvethernetip, 4.4.1.0 (3s - smart software solutions gmbh): SetupStructuredIOMapping [RemoteAdapter]: C0040: Function 'MallocData' requires exactly '1' inputs Compile complete -- 7 errors, 13 warnings Build complete -- 7 errors, 13 warnings : no download possible! Post by testlogic on Sending Sequential Modbus TCP Packets CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have a Modbus TCP slave device where I need to do sequential writes to the same register. The register I'm writing to is kind of like a command line, each packet is a command word encoded in Hexadecimal. I am having difficulty implementing this system in CoDeSys 3.5 SP19. I feel like the structure of the program should be something along the lines of (Pseudocode): ModbusTCPSend(Command Register, Command1) ModbusTCPSend(Command Register, Command2) ModbusTCPSend(Command Register, Command3) I have tried to implement this with a rising edge trigger wMot1OPCode := 16#E1; //Stop Motor & Kill Program xMot1SendOP := TRUE; //Send OP on rising edge xMot1SendOP := FALSE; //Reset wMot1OPCode := 16#9E; //Disable Motor xMot1SendOP :=TRUE; //Send OP on rising edge xMot1SendOP := FALSE; //Reset Where "wMot1OPCode" is the IO map for writing to the command register, and "xMot1SendOP" is the rising edge trigger for that modbus channel. However, this doesn't work. The device never responds to the modbus commands. It seems like the trigger variable is switched too quickly for modbus to send the packet. I know the modbus register is working, because I can set the channel to cyclic and the device will respond. However, I can't use this reliably because I need each command to be sent once, in order. Cyclic keeps re-sending the commands and seems like it could miss a command as well if one was sent in-between cycle time. I have also trying using the Application trigger as described by https://faq.codesys.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=24510480, but this is also not working for me. See attached picture for my FBD code. This seems like a simple function, I can't tell what I'm doing wrong here. Thanks for the help.

Post by kreisfilho on Stop raspberry from executing a plc program CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi guys, Can someone inform where in a raspberry pi are stored the codesys programs? I´ve been training the use of a RPI as PLC, which works pretty well, however while both the RPI and PC (running codesys) remain connected to the same network. The question is: how to run the codesys program downloaded to the RPI as a stand alone device (disconnected from the PC)? Thanks! Kreis

Hello, Exulting the command /opt/CoDeSysControl/Files/run restart debug I get this response from the linux terminal:(ScreenShot1 to ScreenShot7) When I try to reconnect via codesys this line appears at the linux terminal level:(ScreenShot8) A few seconds later, the error window appears on Codesys.(ScreenShot9) I see that following the command /opt/CoDeSysControl/Files/run restart debug there are errors, are they the problem? Sincerely,

Post by transmin01 on CANbus issue CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Update: This initial issue was when using a Linux target PLC. Since then I have created a Win10 target PC and the Codesys software reported an issue associated with the device version (see attached). I am assuming this is an incompatibility with the xml file from the manufacturer and the firmware version on the module and I am chasing this up with Beckhoff. Question is, why would this not report with a Linux target?

Post by transmin01 on PCAN serial "No CAN driver found" CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I am using a PCAN mini CAN board which has the Windows drivers installed on the target PLC. PCAN board can be seen in device manager. However, I am getting "No CAN driver found" error. I have read the post https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/CODESYS-V2/thread/44aae19318/ and have uncommented the CmpPCANBasicDrv driver in the CodesysControl.cfg file in development PC and have copied it to the target PC. Current CodesysControl.cfg file attached. Is there anything else I am missing? Regards

Post by timvh on When Keyboard Key is in Hold, then Webvisu is extreme slow and latent CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I'm not really sure what you are trying to do, but maybe you are referring to using the CmpCharDevice library? When you "open" the connection to a device, you can pass flags. What helped me is to set the non-blocking flag. I'm not sure if this is what you are referring to, but maybe it helps: dFlags: DINT := CmpCharDevice.ACCESS_MODE.O_RDONLY + DINT#4000; // see details for flags: http://linux.die.net/man/2/open, + DINT#4000 is for non-blocking hDevice := CmpCharDevice.CDOpen(szFilename, dFlags, Result);

Post by nathant on Can't open online view of FB instance from code editor, only from Device/POU windows CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, The title pretty much says it all. When trying to open a FB from the CFC/Ladder/SFC editors while online, the FB does not open in an online view of that specific instance. Instead, it opens an offline view with '???' shown for the value of any variable. This makes debugging extremely cumbersome, as I have to find each FB in the POU window and select the specific instance I am trying to view. Anyone know the cause/solution for this? Thanks.

Post by fred on Rasperry Control Debian 12 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I have Proxmox running on a Rasperry 4 and have debian 12 ARM installed here. I wanted to install Codesys Control for Raspberry on it. According to the messages, the runtime environment and the gateway were installed successfully, but I can't find a device to downplay a program. The sudo service codesys start command fails. (see image) Does somebody has any idea? Thank you for your help! Greetings Fred

Post by snhatton on Running webvisu with Codesys Control Win V3 in Simulation Mode CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Yes, you can use the CODESYS ControlWin V3 Soft PLC. However, if simulation is enabled on the device this will disable all communication, so you need to turn off simulation to view the visualization in a web browser. In simulation mode, all IO and communication is disabled for standalone testing. In addition, make sure to set the start visualization in the WebVisu object in the application tree. I hope this helps!

Post by srouse on PFC200BUS not running CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I started a project in codesys for a WAGO 750-8212 PLC and I am working on getting online with the controller. I can log in to the controller and I can see and control all of the fieldbus couplers that I have. I am unable to get the internal bus working. It just says that the bus is not running and when I scan or devices nothing shows up. Am I missing something important in my device tree?

Post by dantheman on Connecting to SoftPLC Only Works By Turning Off Modbus Ethernet Port CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have an IPC with 2 ethernet ports and 1 Wi-Fi. I'm using ModbusTCP with the ethernet port named "enp2s0" connected to my remote I/O. This works fine when testing with Python and also works with CODESYS, but CODESYS is only able to scan for the Linux SoftPLC when I turn off the "enp2s0" interface. In other words, I can't get online with the IDE if I want my ModbusTCP comms to run with CODESYS. I'm using a Linux SoftPLC that has the following entry in CODESYSControl.cfg, hoping that this will allow me to connect with "enp1s0" or "wlp3s0", and leave "enp2s0" for field comms, but this seems to only make the source IP of the ModbusTCP comms to be bound to "enp2s0". That last point is the case only if I don't restart the service, but if I do restart the service after changing the config file, the source IP for the ModbusTCP comms then becomes the one for "enp1s0", which is very confusing to me: [SysSocket] Adapter.0.Name="enp2s0" Adapter.0.EnableSetIpAndMask=1 On the device list, I only have "enp2s0" given as the ethernet device that has the ModbusTCP master & slave beneath it, shown in Screenshot 1. On the IPC, I can ping the ModbusTCP client (remote I/O) from "enp2s0", and I've attached a Wireshark capture of running ModbusTCP from the CODESYS runtime as Screenshot 2, 3 & 4 (again, I can't get online when this is running, I have to turn off "enp2s0" to connect even when it's idle and I don't have an active TCP session with my Python tests). Like I explained above, the source IP is "enp1s0", even though the ethernet device on the project is "enp2s0". I was lucky to catch the red message that showed the source IP that makes sense to me (the one for "enp2s0"), but for some reason that connection was reset and I never saw that packet again. I've also tried this with Auto-reconnect both enabled & disabled, for the ModbusTCP Master device. I also have to turn off "enp1s0" and then turn it on, just so that I can have the ModbusTCP comms running from "enp2s0" (which is not intuitive in any way to me, I'd love some help understanding that phenomenon as well) in the weird manner that I've described above. I would be very appreciative if someone can help me figure out this pickle. I'd love to just connect to CODESYS through my Wi-Fi interface and leave my ethernet ports for field comms.

Post by trprsmn on "Scan Network" doesn't find CR1140 device (ifm) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I'm watching an ifm tutorial on how to setup an industrial controller in CODESYS. I'm using an 'ecomatDisplay43inch_64bit) controller. CODESYS Gateway and PLC are both runngin (systray). However if I click "Scan Network" I can't find my controller. The only thing it finds is a "desktop" it seems (I'm using a Windows 10 on a Mac Book using VMWare, so maybe it has something to do with that?). How can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

Post by thn-power on Updating OPC UA Core Nodeset on PLS CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi After much trail and error I think I found the root cause to my OPC UA problem. The problem is that I cannot manage to build and download a program with a a custom OPC UA Information model. We use a Weidmueller WL2000 PLS, but the problem also exsist on the Win V3 PLC. Our custom information model is based on the latest versions of the OPC UA Core Nodeset v 1.05.03 (2023-09-20) and UA/DI nodeset 1.04.0 (2022-11-03) Those nodesets are installed in the Codesys Information Model Repository (3.5.19.6) However, when trying to build I get the following error. [ERROR] Untitled1: Communication Manager [Device: PLC Logic: Application]: The information model http://opcfoundation.org/UA/ is required by http://bos.org/ with a minimal publication date from 15.12.2023 but the device has only a model from 15.09.2021 installed. Probably the information model from 15.09.2021 is missing in the information model repository. [ERROR] Untitled1: Communication Manager [Device: PLC Logic: Application]: The information model http://opcfoundation.org/UA/DI/ is required by http://bos.org/ with a minimal publication date from 03.11.2022 but the device has only a model from 09.03.2021 installed. Probably the information model from 09.03.2021 is missing in the information model repository. Build complete -- 2 errors, 1 warnings : No download possible I think the problem is that the UA Core nodeset is implemented in the PLC firmware (at least that in Siemens S7), and that only includes the "old" nodeset from 2021-09-21 etc. So the question is, how (or if?) can I transfer the new nodeset to the PLS? I have created separate Information models under Communication manager with the newer code nodesets (UA and DI). But it seems that the compiler does not recognize them being excising, neither in the Codesys IDE or on the PLC. Would have guessed that this is a common issue, sine many manufacturers use the latest versions of the OPC UA standard, and that it would be a solution to the problem.

Post by timvh on Communication between applications on same device/controller/runtime (Win RTE 3.5.20.20) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
The RTE will take the RTE license. The HMI will take the HMI license. For the Application Based Licenses, the Runtime will take the smallest which is required. So if you have an application running EtherCAT and no visualization, only the Control with support for EtherCAT is used. If you have another runtime which requires the visualization, it will take the smallest Control license which is required and available + the smallest visualization license which is required.

Post by totorovic on Hard shutdown: no code on device after power on CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
However, if faulty EtherCAT cables were the issue, why wouldn't the error occur during normal operation? Why would bad cables only cause problems during a hard shutdown? I don't have the answer to this question. One last question: When you encountered this behavior, did you see a similar error in your logs? i.e, an "AccessViolation" exception in the EtherCAT Task Yes. It was the exeption you can see in attached file.

Any reason the ADS1115 wouldnt work with SP20.1 and Runtime 10.0.0.0 on the Raspberry Pi . Using Bullseye or Buster i run into the same issue: Libary and integration works in general as described above BUT i am seeing "bleeding" between the analog inputs . Specifically consecutive ones: So sometimes the raw from AI1 shows on AI2, AI2 on AI3, .. AI4 on AI1. Even with filtering i cant smoothen that out properly and i feel like something is wrong. Almost like the bus is stumbling over itself, or the request from Codesys to the device.

Post by aliazzz on Raspberry Pi 3: Linux/ARMHFv7 unknown container technology CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi CODESYS team! It seems Podman for Raspberry Pi 3 is not detected correctly in the latest "Deploy Control SL 4.14.0.0" : Linux/ARMHFv7 unknown container technology. 1) The Communication Tab, device information section shows podman technology as DETECTED. 2) The Runtime Deployment menu message says: "unknown container architecture" 3) The pulldown window under the deployment tab doesn't show the options for ARMHF Virtual Edge SL and ARMHF Virtual Control SL. I hope you can fix this soon and keep up the great work!
