Hello! I would like to display the project name on the HMI The project name contains the version number That way, a tech knows which version is loaded on the PLC. Is the a standard way to display this, or do I have to hard-code into the HMI (not ideal)?

The new (UTF8) string library is faster and can handle large strings. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20String%20Libraries/_strlib_start_page.html PS, in CODESYS, the maximum string length is not 255 characters. The String functions of the standard library are limited to strings of 255 characters. But you can use other (memory) functions to handle strings larger than 255 characters.

Hi there, I am trying to open a codesys project done by someone else and Once I install all the libraries I get this error [ERROR] : Library Manager [PROJECT 01: PLC Logic: Application]: Could not open library 'SysSocket23, * (System)'. (Reason: The library 'SysSocket23, * (System)' has not been installed to the system.) SysSocket23 is a standard library and I also tried using the same OSCAT library which was from the original computer that made this code. Using CODESYS V3.5 SP18 Patch 2 Please help me how to solve this problem.

Dear Forum, We are currently making the switch from OPC-DA (Codesys server) to OPC-UA (Running on a Codesys controller). We are using Codesys version 3.5 SP 20. Our Scada system is expecting Boolean's to be represented as a 0/1 (True Boolean) but the OPC-UA server is representing a boolean as False/True This indeed matches the OPC-UA standard, but is there a way to configure the OPC-UA server's boolean representation? That really depends on this third party software you want to use. It is possible that .xml file generated with "Generate EtherCAT XML" will not be recognized as valid ENI file. Anyway, "Generate EtherCAT XML" command is not available through standard menus and needs to be added via Tools->Customize and then Add Command. You'll find it under "Devices" section. If you provide more info, we might be able to help you further.

Usage of this pointer access at your own risk :-) Works with SP16. From SP17 and newer there will be warnigs etc. using this solution as I remember. It will be great, if Codesys publishes a example or give a hint how to accesse this client values with the VisuUtil lib or other future-proof way!

@PaRo erst mal vielen Dank für die Antwort. Wundert mich das so ein schwerer Bug nicht sofort gefixt wird. Wenn es keine offene Lib wäre, wäre keine Workaround möglich. Auch bei einem bestehende umfangreichem Programm nicht wirklich praktikabel. Gibt es irgendwo eine Liste mit bekannten Bugs? Gefunden habe ich nichts. Ich muss wohl wieder auf die alte Version zurück.

to modify and change the color of this icons from symbols lib I placed it in a visu. After download to the device, I uploaded the SVG files and saved it local. Now I was able to modify them with inkscape and import it to my own imagepool in the project :-)

I've been searching through these libraries, syssocket and net base services and they all seem to use the same structure for IP address for the connect function, SOCKADDRESS. At a glance, it doesn't look like that'll work, maybe it's just missing in the documentation somewhere?? I'm wondering if anyone has done it.

Hallo, 1. ich bin komplett NEU was Codesys angeht 2. ich muss direkt ein Retrofit machen von V2 auf V3 3. Neue Steuerung: WAGO 750-8211 PFC200. 4. das Projekt in V2 hat über SNMP daten im Netzwerk zur Verfügung gestellt, oder diese gelesen 5. das Projekt in V3 kann SNMP nur noch eingeschränkt nutzen, deswegen wurde mir vom WAGO Support nahegelegt die IIoT Lib zu verwenden. Frage: Wie mach ich das? Konkret: Ich habe die WagoAppSNMP Bibliothek installiert, damit kann ich schon mal Set und Get nutzen (hoffentlich, hab es ja noch nicht getestet, sondern nur programmiert). Ist das ein schlauer Weg, das über diese Lib zu machen? Denn: was macht der SNMP_SET_PLCDATA_WRITEAREA ? Den kann ich über die Wago Lib nicht nutzen und weiß auch nicht, was dieser Baustein konkret tut (Bild im Anhang). Es scheint mir, hier werden Daten auf ein Word im Netzwerk geschrieben? Aber geht das nicht auch einfacher? Es ist ja keine Adresse hinterlegt, wo das hin gehen soll oder? Also, ich verstehe den Baustein nicht so ganz und konnte bisher auch keine Erklärung dazu finden. I'm working on a low cost project and I'm considering installing the Codesys runtime on a PC running Linux Debian instead of buying a PLC with a pre-installed runtime. For my needs the Control Standard S license should be capable of running some IO over ethernet/ip, and a webvisu. The PC I am considering has a AMD GX-424CC 2.4GHz processor (4 core/4 thread) and 4GB RAM. This may compare to a raspberry pi4, but I know an X86 processor doesn't directly compare to an ARM processor, and a processor can have a high clock speed but other factors like L2/L3 cache can influence the overall performance. I can't find any published specs for the processor and RAM requirements to run the Codesys Control runtime, does anybody have a link to the minimum system requirements or experience using devices that are at or below the minimum system requirements. A raspberry pi with the control for raspberry pi SL runtime license would be the lowest cost option, but the license is not for commerical use. This restriction is somewhat vague, can anybody clarify if this means I can use a raspberry Pi runtime for in-house automation, what about if I am selling an integrated system that uses a raspberry Pi as a controller?
