I have a Codesys environment running and would like to inject code into the running environment at the same time using a code generator with Python via the console. So far I can only start a new Codesys instance with Python, but not access an already running one. How can I access the running Codesys instance?

I just tried with version 3.5.22.1 and librarys updates often aren't recognized, usually not. Same behavior like 3.5.21. To describe my workflow: one IDE is used to test librarys as project and two or more IDEs to edit librarys. With only two open IDEs there is no problem, the problem began with more than two open IDEs.

Maybe the CODESYS HMI is a good solution. https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-hmi-sl-bundle.html Run this on the remote main control station. In the HMI application you can add the data source manager and to this manager you can add Data sources. A data source has a reference to the PLC you want to connect to and can get access to the variables of the PLC application. You can then use these variables in the visualization of the HMI application.

Bonjour, La librairy est SYSMEM en Codesys v3.5. Pour accéder à la fonction : SysMem.SysMemSet. Il y a plein d'autres fonctions intéressantes : SysMemSwap, SysMemMove, SysmemCpy, ... Cela évite de créer des Boucles et permet de bien utiliser ADR() et SIZEOF() Il existe aussi une librairie CAA Memory qui mérite intérêt; Par exemple MEM.MemFill pour remplir un tableau d'octets. Bons développments! Il suffit d'ajouter ces bibliothèques dans le gestionnaire de bibliothèque pour les utiliser. JM

I am rather new to Codesys and I'm trying to figure out how to get the status of an alarm. This to interlock the start of a device until the alarm has been acknowledged... I am not sure if IAlarm.GetState (METH) can be used for this purpose. Hi everyone, I’m completely new to CODESYS and have been teaching myself. And i Want to control an Axis using SM3RaspiStepper. Following the example on the RaspiStepper home page, I set up an axis through a POU and tied the SMC_StartupDrive (Visu) template to my axis instance (sud). Unfortunately, the motor never moves and I don’t see any pulses on the PULSE pin (GPIO 23). Hardware -Raspberry Pi 4 B -Nema 17 stepper motor -A4988 stepper driver (EN pin permanently tied to GND) Software / Runtime -CODESYS 3.5 SP21 Patch 1 – Raspberry Pi runtime (demo) -SoftMotion in demo mode -Package: SM3_RaspiStepper 0.0.0.6 Axis parameters: Pulse pin GPIO 23 Direction pin GPIO 24 Enable pin 0 (unused) Disable pin 0 (unused) Whether I start the axis from the visualization template or through Online Config Mode, the motor never spins. In Online Config Mode I press Power → the state changes from Standstill to Discrete_Motion, but the motor shaft is still locked and no step pulses appear on GPIO 23 (checked with a scope). I can provide screenshots of the Visualization, PLC logs, or wiring pictures if that helps. Any ideas on what I might be missing? Hello, I've been trying to use EoE for communication between a Windows PC and an M753 drive from Control Technique. Despite following some online guides (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/EtherCATStack/4.3.0.0/Ethernet_over_EtherCAT/fld-Ethernet_over_EtherCAT.html) I haven’t had any success. Both are connected to a Debian device where RTE is running: The PC is connected via the Ethernet port. The drive is connected via the EtherCAT port. I'm unable to ping the drive from my Windows PC. Here is my configuration: On Debian: (See attachments 1, 2, 3) enp1s0 = Ethernet port enp2s0 = EtherCAT port tap2 = TAP device IP forwarding and routes are both configured. On Windows: (See attachments 4, 5) On Codesys: (See attachments 6, 7) Version: Windows 11 Debian GNU/Linux 11 Codesys 3.5.17 Control for Linux SL 4.7.0 EtherCAT 4.4.0 With this configuration, I can ping the TAP device, but not the drive (See attachment 8). Could someone explain how to properly configure all these settings? Thank you, GA

Hi, When I try to install my codesys program with the new application-based licensing, I have an error "it exceeds the scope of the license agreement. See Device > Licensed Software Metrics" In the Licensed Software Metrics section, I see a code size < 3MB and less than 2700 variables in visualiaztions. I'm using a license "Control Basic L" with "Codesys Visualization L" option, so it should be enough with these metrics. What can I do ?

Hi, I have the user situation represented in the image and I would like CustomerAdmin to only be able to modify/add/delete users relating to the CustomerUser group and nothing else. How can I do? It would be enough not to display the users belonging to the SuperAdmin, Technician1 and Technician2 groups and also the related groups in the UserMgmtConfig dialog box. Can anyone help me? For the Virtual Control you need to use a "Network license". The Virtual Control has parameters of which one is the reference to the license server. This can be the device itself, but you need to activate the license on the host system (not in the container). For this, CODESYS has a Network License server with WBM (web based management). See for the Network License configuration: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_license_controller_linux.html If it is only for evaluation, I would advise to use a CODESYS (USB) key and activate the license on the key. Then you still have to install the CODESYS Network License server on the host, but you don't have to activate the license as soft license on the device. The benefit is that you can easily move your license to another device when needed. Off course your device must have a free USB port available to be able to do this.

I've post the Versions in the Attachments. It seems with htop, that there is a very high CPU Load. In the Log I can see nothing, as mentioned above I've to restart the PLC with Power off/on and the log in codesys was deleted. Or what do you mean with plclogger?

For reference, it was just me being unfamiliar with EtherCAT in CoDeSys. Anyone with knowledge who would have opened the ScanResult screenshot would have identified that the preceding EK1100 was the device missing in the library. Bottom line - Do something else for a while and then get back at it with fresh eyes!

I am trying to create a new proyect using the Raspberry Pi 4.11.0.0 package with Codesys 3.5 SP20, I am able to communicate with the Raspberry and start the runtime application but when I create a new proyect I have these errors. When opening the library manager of the proyect the library of the IoDrvGPIO is used so I dont really know whats happening.

Yes, this works (at least we have it running with Wago PLC and Beckhoff I/O), but the concept works. You need 2 PLC's with at leat 3 network interfaces. And 2 switches (can be unmanaged). See the attached simple diagram for the solution.
