Hi Georg, thanks for your time. What is the value of D_ANGLE_TOL? It is set to 0.01. Do you need the assignment bAbort := NOT bDecoder? Does it help to leave it out? This seems to make no difference. Any errors (e.g. SMC_SmoothPath.Error/ErrorID) or PLC log messages? No errors or log messages. What if you comment out SMC_SmoothMerge and SMC_LimtiDynamics, is corner smoothing still not working? Indeed. Is bDecode written from a different task (e.g. visu)? Then I would recommend to assign to a local variable (bDecodeLocal := bDecode) and use that for all FBs. Otherwise, FBs might see different values of bDecode in a single cycle, which will cause problems. It is a local variable, written from a state machine inside this program. But there is new information: During some trial and error, I tried skipping "stage 2: merge short linear segments" (SMC_SmoothMerge). And suddenly it rounds the corners, see attached image. Looking a bit closer, I noticed that (with the original program) after a download (cold start?), it in fact did round the corners, but only once. Ever next cycle in which the NC program was executed, the corners where not rounded. Not sure if there is any relation, but SMC_SmoothMerge is also the only FB which has no bAbort input. Perhaps I need to reset it (or any buffers) by other means?

Hello @eschwellinger, Why not using one of those 2 folders: C:\ProgramData\CODESYS C:\Users\Public\Documents\CODESYS The main reason is depending on the company and the user right, the end user may not have the access to use those folders. Also having a non version dependent folder may help if the end user uninstall a previous version and forgot all its sample project where in this previous version installation. Thanks.

Hello, I couldn't figure what/where the issue was, so I deleted everything from automation server and reinstalled the edge gateway and did the process again. It worked for about a month and then it stopped working again. It presents the same symptom, edge gateway is online but I can't connect to the PLC. Any idea of what could be the issue? Thank you!

I have this error where the pou doesn't run even for simple programs like contact and a coil if i remove the pou from the task and put another one it works for one run then it stops working again in the photo we can see a contact is on but the coil connected to it is still not on and the device is in run mode I had this issue again and again any help

Hello, I'm new here so if I do something wrong please bare with me. I am using raspberry pi touchscreen made by comfile (CPi-C070WR4C). I also have a window 11 pc where I would like to have a second visualisation, but when I run a TargetVisu with it, all elements of the visualisation end up in the top left corner stacked on top of each other. I have same results running targetVisu on my laptop. Maybe someone had same issues and know the solution? Simas

Hi I recently started learning Codesys SoftMotion. At first, I mainly used YouTube videos. I stopped at two videos where the same problem keeps recurring. fbReadPos( Axis := X_Axis, Enable := TRUE, Position => gAxes.lrActualPos); <- axis cannot move I checked the entire code line by line. Zero errors. GPT spits out nonsense, throwing up increasingly worse errors. And when I copy its code, it says the code is wrong and gets stuck in a loop of its own stupidity. Dear forum, We are currently doing some research on the Codesys KNX implementation (https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-knx-sl.html). We almost have it working but we are missing the last part. The setup: We have a Codesys virtual control container running on docker (4.17.0.0), the I/O is running over an Ethernet IP coupler (Weidmüller), and this is running fine. As far as I’m concerned this tells me that the ethernet device is working properly (the container has access to the outside world, including multicast). Underneath this ethernet adapter the KNX module is added (see picture). In the KNX device (Codesys) 2 input variables are added (see picture), and these are exported to ETS (ETS 5). In ETS A Codesys KNX device has been imported and the Codesys export was imported, afterwards the group addresses are attached to the variables (see picture). Afterwards this configuration is downloaded to the Codesys controller (Container) via ETS. ETS asks for the pressing of the programming button, when the virtual programming button is pressed the download starts and finishes without any errors. This tells me that ETS is communicating with the Codesys controller, and that the download process is ok (so far so good). Now the part where we are struggling with, somehow we need to convert the KNX TP to KNX IP. For this we have the following interface: Zenio KIPI SC (https://www.zennio.com/product/kipi-sc/) this is a KNX TP to IP interface. We have the following setup for this device (see picture) (an IP in the same subnet is used). We tried multiple combinations of IP addresses but the TP devices are simply not communicating to the Codesys container. Does anyone has any advice on what to try next. To make the question more explicit how can we link the TP bus to the Codesys device? Kind Regards Alex

Hello, I got a device from which I require to read values from I am using a WAGO PLC 750-8212 and I am communicating through Modbus Master FUNCTION BLOCK from library WagoAppPLCModbus in Codesys 3.5 to this device. I already receive data from the device that is a CVM to monitor voltage from a fuel cell. The technical support of the company that makes these devices says that the data is sent in little endian form. And I want to convert it to a float value. The tech support sent me the next instructions of how to do it but I am new using codesys, so any advice or help I will really appreciate so much. Message from tech support: The process is complicated, better to do it with already implemented library in the language/program you use. Basically the process should be next: To convert the two Modbus registers containing parts of a 32-bit float in little-endian byte order to a floating-point number using mathematical operations, you first need to combine the two 16-bit integers (assuming reg1 is the lower word and reg2 is the higher word) and then interpret the result according to the IEEE 754 standard. Given: - Register 192 (reg1) = 4096 - Register 193 (reg2) = 14884 Step 1: Combine the two registers. Since we are dealing with little-endian byte order, reg2 is the high word, and reg1 is the low word: combined = reg2 * 2^16 + reg1 combined = 14884 * 65536 + 4096 combined = 975175680 + 4096 combined = 975179776 Step 2: Convert the combined value to binary: combined_binary = '1110101101011100000000000000000' Step 3: Split the binary into IEEE 754 components: Sign bit (1 bit): 0 Exponent (8 bits): 11101011 Mantissa (23 bits): 01011100000000000000000 Step 4: Convert the binary exponent to decimal and subtract the bias (127 for 32-bit floats): exponent = int('11101011', 2) - 127 exponent = 235 - 127 exponent = 108 Step 5: Calculate the mantissa as a fraction: The mantissa in IEEE 754 format is the fractional part after the leading 1 (which is implicit). Therefore, we need to convert the binary mantissa to decimal and add the implicit leading 1: mantissa_fractional = 1 + int('01011100000000000000000', 2) / 2^23 mantissa_fractional = 1 + 18688 / 8388608 mantissa_fractional = 1 + 0.002227783203125 mantissa_fractional ≈ 1.002227783203125 Step 6: Combine the sign, exponent, and mantissa to get the float value: float_value = (-1)^0 * mantissa_fractional * 2^exponent float_value = 1 * 1.002227783203125 * 2^108 Because the exponent is quite large, the resulting float value is a very large number.

Hello :) We are currently configuring a system with Codesys as SoftPLC on a Linux system and with Beckhoff terminals. I have already gained some experience with Codesys and also with TwinCat incl. TwinCAT Safety. What is new to me now is Codesys in conjunction with Beckhoff safety terminals. We are currently using an EL1918 & EL2904 here. I have been able to integrate both terminals into my project, but I don't know how to interconnect them so that they communicate. That's a bit easier with Twincat ^^ Can any of you help me? I would also prefer a Codesys EtherCAT Safety training or webinar if anyone knows of one. Unfortunately I can't find such an event on the internet.

Hello, Up until yesterday (2023/11/20) I was able to connect to the PLC remotely with no issues through Edge Gateway. However, today I can see the Edge Gateway online but I can find the PLC even if I do a network scan. Following the same path as janber0206 @ https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/automation_server/thread/e78b11d7e9/, I looked into certificates and found that one of the Trusted publisher certificates has expired earlier today (2023/11/21). Please see image. Questions are: Does it affect the connection to the PLC through Edge Gateway? How do I fix it? Thank you very much in advance!

Hello all, I am facing issues with using SysCom library. With SysCom23 library things were simple but since we are migrating to 64bit systems, I am writing a Porting program. With SysCom23, opening the comport was as simple as providing the ComPort no. which returns the Handle as a DWORD. dwHandle:=SysComOpen(Port); But the new library is a bit different. It is asking for 2 input parameters to open the Com Port - Port Number and POINTER to RTS_IEC_RESULT IF hCom = 0 THEN hCom := SysComOpen(ComSettings.sPort, ADR(pResult)); How should I use the RTS_IEC_Result? I can find RTS_IEC-REUSLT under SysType2Interfaces of SysCom library. Also, can someone give me a general understanding of this RTS_IEC_REULT and RTS_IEC_HANDLE, etc.?

I couldn't exactly solve the file transfer when I wanted to do multiple transfers while the compiler was open in a way that I couldn't understand.
