Hi everyone, I use Python Script to generate some POU in Codesys V3.5 SP19 and I would like to limit the "Access Control" to them thanks to the Python command. Is there any commands that allow to edit the "Properties... >> Access Control" of the POU? The other possibility is to set the permissions with "Project >> User Management >> Permissions... >> Project objects >> Modify >> ... >> myPOU", but I did not find the related Python commands. Otherwise, is there a global setting that allows to set the permissions by default? For example, Modify = Denied for everyone user by default. Thank you in advance for your help, Nico

Hello, I have found a script for printing device tree in Codesys project. This script is available as code snippet as an exmaple for using Python in Codesys. However I feel main documentation is lacking. For example, where can I find that object has "is_device" attribute? Code examples are given here: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Scripting/_cds_access_cds_func_in_python_scripts.html However, I have a question how to print the whole Project tree and not just devices? Of course I need to remove check: if treeobj.is_device: But simply removing this test condition will not produce what I want. I need to print PLC Logic, Application, ad other nodes in the Project tree. Where to find this documentation?

System information - Controller: KUNBUS RevPi CONNECT-S - OS: Linux buster 32bit 5.10.103-rt62-v7l #1 SMP PREEMPT_RT armv7l GNU/Linux - CODESYS v3.5 SP19 Patch 2 I'm facing a problem related to codesys licences using a procedure based on a bash script. Such bash script detect the presence of new .deb files and install them on system. My automation solution don't allow to be maintained by dedicated personal, thus even the CODESYS runtime SW must be installed using an "automatic" procedure instead of using the CODESYS tool. remark I've been using the following procedure since the runtime v4.5 without any issue. Before installing the new runtime packages, I need to copy the file CODESYSControl_User.cfg (here attached) because of new section which is necessary to add in order to allow some folders to be written by CODESYS runtime v4.9 Up to now, this has been unnecessary, this is the main difference between my previos bash file and the new one. remark If I skip this action, everythings goes fine, but my CODESYS application can't work as it needs to access some folders on controller's file system. Process - Before the procedure: the licenses are OK (see attached file lic-01.png) - After the procedure: the new CODESYS runtime version is correctly installed, but the software container with v1.19 and all licences disappear (see attached file lic-02.png) This is the synthetic content of bash script I'm using. # Stop runtime sudo service codesyscontrol stop sudo service codesysedge stop # Move the new CODESYSControl_User.cfg file # New configuraton with folders declared sudo mv -f CODESYSControl_User.cfg /etc # Install runtime package echo N | sudo apt-get install -y --allow-downgrades codesyscontrol_raspberry_4.9.0.0_armhf.deb # Install edge gateway package echo N | sudo apt-get install -y --allow-downgrades codesysedge_edgearmhf_4.9.0.0_armhf.deb # Reboot controller sudo reboot Thanks in advance

Dear all: Question about scripting: I am creating a .NET program that is supposed to Open codesys, open template project, export a bunch of pou, then exit codesys. Launch works, Open project works, Export works, But how do i tell codesys to close itself? I can tell windows to terminate codesys, but i would prefer to do it properly. from __future__ import print_function import sys import System proj = projects.primary # We're interested in POU nodes: POUGuid = Guid("6f9dac99-8de1-4efc-8465-68ac443b7d08") # We collect all POU nodes in that list. pous = [] # From the parent node on, we recursively add POU nodes: def CollectPous(node): if node.type == POUGuid: pous.append(node) else: for child in node.get_children(): CollectPous(child) # Now we collect all the leaf nodes. for node in proj.get_children(): CollectPous(node) # We print everything just to know what's going on. for i in pous: print("found: ", i.type, i.guid, i.get_name()) # And now we export the files. for candidate in pous: # We create a list of objects to export: # The object itsself objects = [candidate] # And sub-objects (POUs can have actions, properties, ...) objects.extend(candidate.get_children()) # And the parent folders. parent = candidate.parent while ((not parent.is_root) and parent.is_folder): objects.append(parent) parent = parent.parent # Create an unique file name: if len(sys.argv) == 1: filename = "parent\\%s.export" % (candidate.get_name()) else: filename = "%s\\%s.export" % (sys.argv[1],candidate.get_name()) # print some user information print("exporting ", len(objects), " objects to: ", filename) # and actually export the project. proj.export_xml(objects, filename) proj.close() print ("script finished.")

I'm using CODESYS 3.5 SP16 Patch 6. I would like to incorporate static code analysis as part of our CI/CD pipeline. 1. Is there a way to execute the static code check from the command line or python script? 2. If you can't do it from the command line, is there a way to export the results from the application?

I have now conducted some tests. The problem occurs when the Python script establishes an OPCUA connection, even if I only establish the connection without reading or writing any data. Is there another way to exchange data between Python and CODESYS without having to put in a lot of effort?

Dear Codesys Support Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am currently working on a project that involves using a Hilscher CIFX card to act as an EtherCAT master within the CODESYS environment. Despite following the available documentation and setup guides, I have encountered some challenges and require assistance to ensure proper configuration and operation. Questions: 1- Could you please confirm if the Hilscher CIFX card is supported as an EtherCAT master in CODESYS? If so, are there specific drivers or configuration files that need to be installed? 2- Are there detailed setup guides or example projects available that demonstrate the integration of Hilscher CIFX cards with CODESYS for EtherCAT communication? 3- Is there any additional software or plugins required for ensuring seamless communication between the CIFX card and the EtherCAT slaves within CODESYS? Your support and guidance on these matters would be greatly appreciated, as it is crucial for the success of our project. Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your prompt response. Best regards, TB

Hi! I have som variables that I communicate to a Modbus Master. These variables are declared in a "Global Variable List" where I have assigned them memory addresses. To organize this mapping I want to make a MODBUS list where I show all the variable names together with the memory address. Is there an easy way to export this list from CODESYS? Either through script or some export function maybe?

Hi, I'm creating a program where I need to handle arrays, like: - Declare lenght variable arrays - [array(1..var) of "sometype"]. This is not possible in pure codesys, right? - Know array lenght, min, max, avg values in runtime - append/delete itens in an array - and so on Is there a library know for this in codesys. Is it possible to build our own libraries using some high level language like python or java script?

in the codesyscontrol.cfg or codesyscontrol_user.cfg you have to declare whoch comport-ports from runtime are used. please tell us how the comport is called in linux an post the codesyscontrol.cfg files also write down here, which parameters are used in the python-script and what is parameteized in the modbus-master-comport of your codesys-application. mostly the errors occurs in ine of these areas

I've seen that you can use cmds like below to run SA from scripts. system.commands["staticanalysis", "run"].execute() But I would like to run different SA configuration files to create separate logs and cant find anywhere in the scripting engine if this is supported. This stems from if I turn on everything, SA stops reporting issues in the message log when the list gets over 600ish issues. Once we have done an initial clean up of code this wont be an issue, but I'm trying to get a baseline to track improvement.

The lightstrip is this one: https://core-electronics.com.au/1m-rgb-led-strip-ws2812b-144-per-meter-white-strip-weatherproof.html What I would like to do is to control it directly via CodeSys through the plc on my RasPi. I know I can run a python script on CodeSys, but I'd like to avoid doing that. Is it possible, and how do I do it? Is there a library that does this?

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND
or OR
.
