If your Control Win is the Modbus "Master" then your configuration should be something like: Modbus_COM (Serial port) - Modbus Master (this is the Control Win SoftPLC actively setting up the communication) - Modbus Slave (this is then your WAGO 750-315) You need to add channels to the Modbus Slave configuration to inform the master which variables to read/write from the Wago module. The way you configured it now, the Control Win is also a slave. PS, don't forget to put the PLC (Control Win) in Run.

Hi Dear All, I'm using my raspberry PI4 as a CoDeSyS PLC (Build from scratch with custom electronics). I was able to implement all fieldbuses with the exception of Modbus Serial. I'm using the internal Port (GPIO) and I configured it in /etc/Codesyscontrol_user.cfg the following away: [SysCom] Linux.Devicefile.1=/dev/ttyUSB0 Linux.Devicefile.2=/dev/ttyS0 I'm using COM2 on Master configuration. I'm using a interface board from TTL/RS485 (bidirectional board), and it's works perfectly with other devices but not in CoDeSyS. I'm able to send data with python script and read it on my pc using putty, but when I use a modbus slave simulator to interface with codesys I always get red icons on master and slave. (Please find image attached). I'm pretty shure that this might be a bad parameter on my CoDeSyS runtime configurstion file. Can someone help me? I'm stuck and this is for my master degree certification.

Hi all :) I have an plc. This plc has option to be as slave device. There are TCP -> Serial Slave Device and COM -> Serial Slave Device. There are 4096 ModBus holding registers with mark "internal modify" for the both devices above. So, COM Slave has 4096 registers and TCP Slave has 4096 registers. And, finally, I have an ARRAY[0..4095] OF WORD. This array glued with COM Slave and TCP slave. Yes, I need plc's opportunity to be communication both TCP and COM ways for the same registers. For example, the next task structure: * TASK_0: 1. pou_READ_Registers 2. pou_0 3. pou_1 4. ... 5. pou_N 6. pou_WRITE_Registers At the first pou I read registers for the other pous, after job we have sort of state of the plc. At the last pou (6) we write modified registers. It is a good scenario: some one wrote registers for the job, after job we save these (modified) registers. But, what if registers wrote between 1 and 6 pou by operator, for example, at the 3 pou -> the last pou 'pou_WRITE' will rewrite this request from operator. What the right way to work with this logic? Thanks you.

I have an IPC with 2 ethernet ports and 1 Wi-Fi. I'm using ModbusTCP with the ethernet port named "enp2s0" connected to my remote I/O. This works fine when testing with Python and also works with CODESYS, but CODESYS is only able to scan for the Linux SoftPLC when I turn off the "enp2s0" interface. In other words, I can't get online with the IDE if I want my ModbusTCP comms to run with CODESYS. I'm using a Linux SoftPLC that has the following entry in CODESYSControl.cfg, hoping that this will allow me to connect with "enp1s0" or "wlp3s0", and leave "enp2s0" for field comms, but this seems to only make the source IP of the ModbusTCP comms to be bound to "enp2s0". That last point is the case only if I don't restart the service, but if I do restart the service after changing the config file, the source IP for the ModbusTCP comms then becomes the one for "enp1s0", which is very confusing to me: [SysSocket] Adapter.0.Name="enp2s0" Adapter.0.EnableSetIpAndMask=1 On the device list, I only have "enp2s0" given as the ethernet device that has the ModbusTCP master & slave beneath it, shown in Screenshot 1. On the IPC, I can ping the ModbusTCP client (remote I/O) from "enp2s0", and I've attached a Wireshark capture of running ModbusTCP from the CODESYS runtime as Screenshot 2, 3 & 4 (again, I can't get online when this is running, I have to turn off "enp2s0" to connect even when it's idle and I don't have an active TCP session with my Python tests). Like I explained above, the source IP is "enp1s0", even though the ethernet device on the project is "enp2s0". I was lucky to catch the red message that showed the source IP that makes sense to me (the one for "enp2s0"), but for some reason that connection was reset and I never saw that packet again. I've also tried this with Auto-reconnect both enabled & disabled, for the ModbusTCP Master device. I also have to turn off "enp1s0" and then turn it on, just so that I can have the ModbusTCP comms running from "enp2s0" (which is not intuitive in any way to me, I'd love some help understanding that phenomenon as well) in the weird manner that I've described above. I would be very appreciative if someone can help me figure out this pickle. I'd love to just connect to CODESYS through my Wi-Fi interface and leave my ethernet ports for field comms.

Hi, I don't know if I'm in the right place or if it's even possible... I'm looking for a way to address a Profinet device with Record Read and Write from my own PC. I actually only need very few commands to configure our device. This means setting the MAC address and a serial number. We would like to do this from a C# program. Now we are looking for a library or something similar. Since you can do it from Codesys, I thought there might be a DLL or something similar that you could use for this. As I said, we don't want real-time queries of the cyclic data but only record read/write. Does anyone have any helpful hint? Thanks in advance

I'll be capturing a hex stream over serial into a RasPi and I'd like to convert a group of bytes into a float. I see this is available (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/cdsoperatorrealto.html) but not its inverse (i.e. BYTE_TO_REAL). The packets will be 18 bytes but I'll be selecting 4 byte segments from the middle, swapping byte endianness (i.e. changing 0x51847641 to 0x41768451), and converting to float; I believe they adhere to IEEE 754. Is there a pre-built function for some or all of this, or do I need to follow (https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/dc5829c7ea/)? Thanks!

Hello everyone, I am trying to change dynamically by code the IP address of a Weidmuller controller. So I am basically using IoDrvEthernet library to use UpdateConfiguredIPSettings function but I am getting constantly the 'INVALID_STATE' error. Even though I am following a procedure it should work: * First I added on the config file of codesys the following: [SysSocket] Adapter.0.Name="eth0" Adapter.0.EnableSetIpAndMask=1 Adapter.1.Name="eth1" Adapter.1.EnableSetIpAndMask=1 * Secondly I am first disabling the ethernet interface by using Ethernet_0.Enable = FALSE and then executing DED.Reconfigure. I have a DFRobot RS485 temperature & humidity sensor (SEN0438) connected to my Raspberry Pi via a USB to RS485 adapter. I am able to connect and read the sensor data when running a python code locally. However in Codesys, I encounter this error "A bus error has occurred." and "There was no response in time". Could this be because of Modbus Server Channel and Modbus Server Init configuration on my part? Admittedly I am new to Codesys. To get to this stage, I: 1. added some lines to CODESYSControl_User.cfg 2. added "Modbus_COM" in Codesys and set "Serial Port Configuration" under "General" 3. added "Modbus_Master_COM_Port" in Codesys and checked transmission mode is set to "RTU" 4. added "Modbus_Slave_COM_Port" in Codesys and checked server address is set to 1 (also set 1 in my sensor) 5. added 1 channel and 1 init for "Modbus_Slave_COM_Port" under "Modbus Server Channel" and "Modbus Server Init"

Hi, I’m currently testing the Codesys Redundancy application with 2 Raspberry Pi, with the idea is of using in my project 2 Wago PFC200 and 1 Ethercat Master with 2 Remote IO. After I configure the redundancy, and one Pi is Active and the other is Passive, if I disconnect the Ethernet cable of the Active, the Passive become Standalone, which is good, but the problem is the following: -When I recover the Ethernet connection, both stay Standalone. They will NOT Sync until I do it manually in the Codesys environment. How to make the synchronization automatically? -If both Pi/PLC stays Standalone, who is managing the IO? (Ethercat and Serial) I have done a test with an Modbus Slave, where I am sending a counter that increase every second. And I see that when both PLC are standalone, they both keep an active connection with the Slave, and both write values. This does not seem good, since according to this in my project both PLC would try to control the IO at the same time. Note: The Codesys have an option (greyed out, not possible to select) which says β€œAuto Sync”. What is the purpose, and why I’m not able to select it? I'm using Codesys Control for Rapsberry Pi 64SL Runtime in my test environment (2xRaspberry Pi 4), with the idea of using Codesys Control PFC 200 Runtime in my project (2xWago PFC200 and 1 Ethercat Master with 2x Wago 750-354 Ethercat Fieldbus Coupler). Using the last Codesys 3.5 version (SP19 PAtch 5). I'd appreciate a lot any help on this questions!

I just installed codesys runtime on a raspberry pi Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC @ 1.5GHz (Compute Module 4) I am running on Codesys control for raspberry pi 64 SL ver 4.13.0 and I keep getting a crash after about five to ten minutes. This program was running fine on a 32bit system with runtime 4.8 previously but they upgraded the panel PC cause it got smashed. Looking at the logs I see this error "ERROR: GetNetLinkSockAndInfoByMac(): could not open netlink socket: Too many open files" at the time of crash. I do have a UDP socket open for a serial to ethernet adapter and im wondering if maybe its opening a bunch of sockets and while receiving messages, Im not sending anything to the device only receiving. Hi all, I'm looking for help with an issue I've come across while trying to facilitate Modbus communication between a WAGO PFC200 PLC using a 750-652 communication module and an iEM2050 Series Single Phase Energy Meter. I believe to have everything wired and setup correcty, but I keep running into a "Error time out" message, and by now I don't really know what else to try. My setup is as follows: A PFC200 Wago PLC, which has 2 750-652 Serial Interfaces extension modules connected to its field bus. I'm using one of these to talk to a Schneider iEM2050 - kWh-meter over modbus. I have connected terminal 23 (A) of the iEM2050 to connector 6 (A) on the 750-652. I have connected terminal 24 (B) of the iEM2050 to connector 2 (B) of the 750-652. I'm using 200mm of twisted together wires to connected them both, and I have placed a 120 ohm resistor between A and B at both ends. I've attached relevant pinout images to this post. I then wrote a simple program that configures the Mobus port, as per the datasheet of the iEM2050. You can find an image of the relavent page attached to this post too. This seems to be a bug, as described here. However, the TON solved that particular issue. I tried reading multiple registers, but like I said, I still always end up with the "Error time out". What else can I test or try at this point?
