Hello everyone, I am facing a persistent issue with the OPC UA Server on Advantech Soft PLC with hard realtime for Win64 (V3_5_2010_3) and need help from the community. Categories: PLCs Version: 3.5.20.10 Description: Advantech Soft PLC with hard realtime for Win64 (V3_5_2010_3) Problem Summary The OPC UA Server works perfectly when accessed via: opc.tcp://localhost:4842 opc.tcp://<hostname>:4842</hostname> But it does NOT work when using the LAN IP: opc.tcp://192.168.0.XX:4842 In UAExpert I get: Discovery FindServers on opc.tcp://192.168.0.XX:4842 failed (BadCommunicationError) Port is LISTENING in windows Firewall.. In the CODESYS IDE I have several symbols defined and I have IEC Symbol Publishing installed. On the IEC Symbol Publishing window and under the IEC Symbols Editor tab, I have dragged symbols from the tree on the left to the grid on the right. All this works fine. Now I want to remove one of the symbols from the grid on the right and I cannot see any way to do this. How can I remove a symbol from the grid on the right once I've added it?

Hi, I found the same issue, and I fixed with this steps: 1st go to codesys .cfg file. sudo nano CODESYSControl.cfg Then insert this: [SysProcess] BasePriority=Realtime Command=AllowAll Now we need to grant codesys root rights on Linux. Step 1: Create or edit the systemd override configuration: sudo systemctl edit codesyscontrol In the editor that opens, insert: [Service] User=root Save and exit: Press Ctrl+O to save Press Ctrl+X to exit Step 2: Reload systemd and reboot To apply the override: sudo systemctl daemon-reexec sudo systemctl daemon-reload sudo reboot Step 3: Confirm CODESYS is running as root After reboot, open the terminal and run: ps aux | grep codesyscontrol You should see something like: root 1234 ... /opt/codesys/bin/codesyscontrol.bin ... If instead it shows admin or another user, the override was not applied correctly. Step 4: (Optional) Confirm from within CODESYS In your CODESYS project, insert this test code to run the Linux command whoami: Make sure the lib SysProcessImplementation, SysTypes, and CmpErrors is on the project. Hi, I’m currently testing the Codesys Redundancy application with 2 Raspberry Pi, with the idea is of using in my project 2 Wago PFC200 and 1 Ethercat Master with 2 Remote IO. After I configure the redundancy, and one Pi is Active and the other is Passive, if I disconnect the Ethernet cable of the Active, the Passive become Standalone, which is good, but the problem is the following: -When I recover the Ethernet connection, both stay Standalone. They will NOT Sync until I do it manually in the Codesys environment. How to make the synchronization automatically? -If both Pi/PLC stays Standalone, who is managing the IO? (Ethercat and Serial) I have done a test with an Modbus Slave, where I am sending a counter that increase every second. And I see that when both PLC are standalone, they both keep an active connection with the Slave, and both write values. This does not seem good, since according to this in my project both PLC would try to control the IO at the same time. Note: The Codesys have an option (greyed out, not possible to select) which says “Auto Sync”. What is the purpose, and why I’m not able to select it? I'm using Codesys Control for Rapsberry Pi 64SL Runtime in my test environment (2xRaspberry Pi 4), with the idea of using Codesys Control PFC 200 Runtime in my project (2xWago PFC200 and 1 Ethercat Master with 2x Wago 750-354 Ethercat Fieldbus Coupler). Using the last Codesys 3.5 version (SP19 PAtch 5). I'd appreciate a lot any help on this questions!

I successfully connected to the I/O card via Modbus and can read inputs without any issues. However, when I try to write to the digital output modules using function code 15, I am unable to make any changes. Here’s what I have done so far: I created a small project using Structured Text. I set up Modbus channels (as shown in the attached image) and mapped the pins. When I use cyclic mode, the connection results in an error. However, when I use the rising edge, the connection works, but I don’t see any changes on the I/O card. For the output module, I assigned one bit to high. After that, I ran CODESYS Control Win V3. (Should I be running the PLC as well?) I built the program, but I am not receiving any response from the I/O card. Could you please advise on what might be causing this issue?

Hi, I would like to divide a project into multiple applications - as a minimum: one handling visualization and Alarm Manager, one handling I/O and plant control logic. But how to exchange variables between the applications? What have you done to get such a solution? In versions 3.5.19 and earlier, you can have Child applications, where the children can access a GVL in the Parent application. Children apps is no longer possible in 3.5.20 - but you can have 'sibling' apps - Several apps directly under PLC Logic, that is. But how do they best communicate? The Communication Manager / Data Sources Manager is sort of possible via OPC UA, but it seems like overkill and with some limitations - for example no ARRAY OF STRUCT possible this way. If you have separate devices in your project, you can exchange data via 'CODESYS ApplicationV3', but not other applications in the same device (see attachment Datasources.png). You can do it via 'Select the project type'->'Other Project' and select the same project file, but this leads to crashing the Development system when working with the variables afterwards. It would be great to hear your thoughts / experiences on this topic - Bjarne

I started a project in codesys for a WAGO 750-8212 PLC and I am working on getting online with the controller. I can log in to the controller and I can see and control all of the fieldbus couplers that I have. I am unable to get the internal bus working. It just says that the bus is not running and when I scan or devices nothing shows up. Am I missing something important in my device tree?

Hello, I am getting the following error and warning when trying to download a project into a PLC: - Library CmpTargetVisu has not been added to the Library manager, or no valid license could be found - Unkown type: 'CmpEventMgr.EventParam' As far as I can see, both are included, and licensed, in the library manager (see image). What could the problem be, and how would I resolve this?

Exact screenshot is attached, but essentially I would like to know which component in the Codesys has CmpID = 0x00000019 and what this Timeout means?

Good morning, I think that the mode Simulation does not support the Softmotion functionnality because it runs the CODESYS process with normal priority wich is not a good thing for real-time behavior. If you want to test your PLC project, please use a Codesys Control Softmotion (and your computer must have the Ethercat driver installed) or much easier, download your code into the C6 Smart. BR

A got a larger project but this very small example makes it clear. I have a button, and after it's clicked a lamp should flip on and stays on, and when the mouse-button is released it should stay on. When I try that in the PLC_PRG it works, but when I change it to a function block (seet attched demo proj) it isn't. I'm fairly new to PLC programming but are very experienced C# engineer, but this goes above my head...
