Using Codesys 3.5.18.30 I am trying to work with an array of variable length in one dimension, but known in the other dimension. For example, using an array that represents a list of items, each with an attribute profile. I do not know how many items will be in the list, but I know that every item has 5 attributes, like size, weight, etc. Codesys does not seem to be able to accept this. I have referenced Data Type: ARRAY OF documentation page, which is not explicit if variable & fixed length array dimensions can be mixed. In the VAR_IN_OUT scope, I initially tried MY_ARRAY : ARRAY [*, *] OF REAL; which was no problem, of course. I then modified it to MY_ARRAY : ARRAY [*, 1..5] OF REAL; which throws C0006: ', or ]' expected instead of '..' among consequent downstream errors. I then used the Auto Declare -> Array Wizard, which accepted (asterisk)-(asterisk) and 1-5 for 2-dimensional lower and upper bounds. It output: MY_ARRAY: ARRAY[*..*, 1..6] OF INT; which throws the same error stream. What's the deal here? Is this possible?

Hello again, After looking into it, I noticed that the release note of "CODESYS Control for Raspberry PI 4.13.0.0" mentions a bug fix titled "Support Compute module 4". Is it possible to have more details about this fix from the CodeSys team please ? Because I have several CM4 boards with the same hardware revision / OS but some of them works with the 4.10 runtime and others only works with the 4.13 runtime...

Hi, please check if "Support client animations and overlay of native elements" option is enabled. This option is very heavy to manage for the Webclients. I'm using the Pixsys srl "TC series" HMI with the code "P3" (so a 4+4 cores CPU) that runs very well also with this option active. The same CPU is mounted also in their WebPanel "WP" series, so you can try one of them if you want.

Hi, I recently got a license for Raspberry Pi, after license activation I made a backup copy of "CMLicenseNew.WibuCmRaU" file to a safe place. Things got complicated and I tried to downgrade OS for some reason after that I tried several times/ways to restore my license with no luck. the specifications are as follows: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1 codesyscontrol 4.10.0.0 SDK 3.5.19.30 Logs: **** ERROR: CodeMWriteLicenseFile: 'CMLicenseNew.WibuCmRaU' failed: Container not found or Server dose not support .... Dear Forum, I recently updated to the newest Codesys IDE (3.5 SP19 patch 5) The program wouldn't download cause of the amount of OPC-UA server tags (see picture) I'm not planning on using the OPC-UA server and therefore I unchecked the "Support OPC-UA features" checkbox in the symbol configuration. But this didn’t solve the issue of the OPC-UA server exceeding its license. How can I disable the OPC-UA server while still maintaining the symbol configuration. Thank you in advance Alex

Good morning, I think that the mode Simulation does not support the Softmotion functionnality because it runs the CODESYS process with normal priority wich is not a good thing for real-time behavior. If you want to test your PLC project, please use a Codesys Control Softmotion (and your computer must have the Ethercat driver installed) or much easier, download your code into the C6 Smart. BR

The string_Util_Intern is not the library I referred to. With a CONCAT function (also with the string util library) a search is done for the NULL character. If you concatenate 20000 characters to one string, then the longer the string, the longer it takes to find this NULL character.

How to use same communication of similar UDT for Opto22 Groov PR2 PLC in Codesys V3.5 SP20. Can I use OSCAT library - Network -MB_Client or IODrvModbusTCP - ModbusRequest for this requirement? If any other please guide.

Hello, I have been using CODESYS for a while and after updating to version 3.5.18.50 the code randomly stops with this fault. Why is that ? I have tried to locate the fault in the Call Stack but I dont know what to do now... I have updated the projects properly for the version I am using. This fault started happening after like 14 days of using the new version of CODESYS.

I'm not really sure what you are trying to do, but maybe you are referring to using the CmpCharDevice library? When you "open" the connection to a device, you can pass flags. What helped me is to set the non-blocking flag. Pretty sure I know the answer, but thought I would ask just in case. Is there a way to set variables declared in a POU to private so that they can not be accessed from other POUs. I tried using the library pragma, but that just stops the variables being displayed in the selection tree. My compiler version is 2.3.9.62 if that's relevant, and I'm using an ABB AC500 V2 PLC. Hello I've made an FB which is a TCP server. It uses the excellent CAA NetServices library. If I have the FB in a task <4ms, then the RT crashes immediately at boot up. If the task >=4ms, it starts and runs perfectly. This is even if the block is not doing anything; just instantiated. Am I missing something silly? Why would a low task time cause this? 4ms is perfectly adequate, but I'm just interested why... thanks PH

Hello, Is it possible to get the string returned from the ENUM JSONType? I read that with regular enumerations you can add '{attribute 'to_string'}' and access it. However, this is from the compiled library, so I can not add that attribute. When I try to use TO_STRING(JSONType) it returns the integer as a string. Ex. jsonType :=TO_STRING(pJSONData^._aJSONData[i].eType); gives '8' instead of NONE Thanks!

Hi All Not sure what im missing here but i seem to have a lot of issues when i start a project say at home then try to open it at work the next day on another pc, using same version of Codesys. I try the build option when opening the project but still get loads of placeholder,library and some random errors i'm not to sure about. have tied project Archive, which is better, but not perfect. Can someone tell me what im doing wrong!. Cheers

Hi everyone, I’ve connected and configured an MCP23017 over I²C on a Raspberry Pi using the available CODESYS/RPi library. Input reading works fine (I can reliably read a digital input). However, I can’t get any output pin to change state. Example: when I try to drive PB0, the watch shows MCP23017.Out_B.0 = TRUE (1), but there is no actual output on the pin (no voltage change). Anyone solved this?

Hello, We encountered the same issues on both recipe library versions 4.2.0.0 and the newest 4.3.0.0. The Arrays of structs get saved correctly but loading them restores only some indexes, while others get lost or completely wrong. We have been using the same recipes for the last two years on recipe manager vers. 3.5.17 withoud issues. There also seems to be a different behaviour in vers. 4.3.0.0 but it's still incorrectly loading the recipes. Did you find any workaround or solution? Codesys version used: 3.5.19.50

the TCA9548a does not work in Codesys. In Pyton this is only queried once and in Codesys cyclically. Of course you can also insert a terminating resistor in each port, then you should have no problems.
