I have been trying out Unconnected_Send Explicit Message with route path.(The Unconnected_Send service shall use the Connection Manager object in each router to forward the message and to remember the return path. Vol 1.3 / 3-5.6.7) However, I could not see the correct path on Wireshark. I want to see the Unconnected_Send Message Service Code as 0x52 and also the last of the message should have the route path. I want to ask some questions about this topic. The IIoDrvEIPAcylicServices Interface has the IoDrvSendUnconnectedMessage Method. And there is a struct (EIP_SendUnconnectedMessage) for this service. But there is no information about how to implement to project, and if it is successful, does it send a message with 0x52 Unconnected_Send Service Code or not? If that is not a solution, how can I set the Unconnected_Send Explicit Message struct on Codesys? Also how can I send explicit message with route path?

Hi! I´ll try to get this thread going again as i´m having simliar problems. Right now i get a red triangle on my connected devices (i´m testing with a BME280 sensor and a PCA9685 resvo driver). The TCA9548 have the green symbol beside it. On the "red" devices i get that the bus is not running. I have tried to either run it using the parent bus cycle setting or creating a new freewheeling task prio 1 but nothing helps. I have compared my settings to the settings from the example from the MUX package and i have read (i think) every thread in forge that could be of interest. EDIT: The ic2detect only shows the mux (70-70) and the servo drive (70-76) so i´ll look in to if i managed to burn the 280-sensor while soldering). Another question regarding the 280 sensor. I have a sensor GY-BM E/P 280 that should record humidity and temperatur. Could this be a problem with the library? Does anyone have an idea of what i might be doing wrong? I have some experience from Codesys but not much so this could be an easy one. All suggestions are welcome. I tried to upload the project archive but it did not work. Should i upload the export or how could i show you my horrible project? Best, Martin

Solved EN: The Problem is that the Codesys Edge-Gateways have a License with a runtime of an half year, as long the Gateways are online they will self renew themselfs. In my Case the RevPi was more than a year offline and so the Edge-Gateway was not working anymore. The solution: I accessed a laptop that was directly connected to the RevPi. I installed the Codesys service tool and renewed the certificate manual. DE: Das Propblem ist das die Codesys Edge-Gatways eine Lizenz haben die nur ein halbes Jahr gültig ist. Solange das Gateway eine Internet verbindung hat aktualisiert sich das Zertifikat von alleine. In meinem Fall war das Gateway aber über ein Jahr offline und hat somit nicht mehr funktioniert. Die Lösung: Ich hab auf einen Laptop von Kunden mit TeamViewer zugegriffen, der Laptop wurde mit Kabel direkt mit RevPi verbunden. Codesys Service Tool installiert und dann das Gatewayzertifikat aktualisiert.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do, but getting the CurrentUserGroupID like this will not work, because there could be multiple Visualization Clients and each can have a different user that is logged in. Also when you go online with CODESYS and open an Visualization, this is counted as a client. Probably this is the reason you see it changing. What you can to is "iterate" over all clients and then see which user is logged in on which visualization Client. For this you need to add the Visu Utils library to the project and call the FbIterateClients. Hello, I was trying to create a redundancy POC for our application where we read data from few modbus tcp devices. As there is a limitaion that modbus tcp device support only for single master device, we wanted to test how the variable sync happens in redundancy mode. For that i have used the redundancy sample code added a variable "b" under a condition. What i observed was while active controller is running, if passive controller is powerup, passive controller is able to sync all the data configured for redundacny. But after that the variable data which resided under a condition is not synching from active to passive controller. I have attached the image where i have highlighter the variable. Can some help me to understand how redundacny work in codesys soft plc and if there is a solution to sync variable which are under condition, please explain the same or suggestion to achieve the same. Hardware - Raspberry Pi (2 qty) Redundancy licence used - yes in both controllers. Codesys runtime - 4.9.0.0 Codesys software version - V3.5 SP19 if i have posted this question in wrong section, please do let me know in whcih section i have to post this question.

Hi All, I am using codesys based plc to read and control magna power DC supply over LXI protocol using SCPI command. To connect device required socket programming for that i am using Net base service library function block TCP_Client to establish connection over TCP/IP , TCP_Write to write SCPI commands and TCP_Read to read data from Magna power DC supply. I have attached screenshot for logic developed. I am able to connect and write commands to device but i not receiving any information from device. For writing Commands i also tried various end of line character like \n,<nl>, A, D, 10, 13, 0x0A, 0x0D but not received any status from device. For testing purpose i am using simple command '*IDN?' to read data. Also if tried to check on hercules software what data actually plc read, first it read correct data after that is read wrong data as see in screen shot. 'Hello World' was correct read and after that Codesys in replaced with 'Codesysorld' that is not correct way. Same issue also appeared for send data. Any one have face same issue how i can read data directly from device correctly and send data please suggest solution on this.</nl>

Hi all :) I have an plc. This plc has option to be as slave device. There are TCP -> Serial Slave Device and COM -> Serial Slave Device. There are 4096 ModBus holding registers with mark "internal modify" for the both devices above. So, COM Slave has 4096 registers and TCP Slave has 4096 registers. And, finally, I have an ARRAY[0..4095] OF WORD. This array glued with COM Slave and TCP slave. Yes, I need plc's opportunity to be communication both TCP and COM ways for the same registers. For example, the next task structure: * TASK_0: 1. pou_READ_Registers 2. pou_0 3. pou_1 4. ... 5. pou_N 6. pou_WRITE_Registers At the first pou I read registers for the other pous, after job we have sort of state of the plc. At the last pou (6) we write modified registers. It is a good scenario: some one wrote registers for the job, after job we save these (modified) registers. But, what if registers wrote between 1 and 6 pou by operator, for example, at the 3 pou -> the last pou 'pou_WRITE' will rewrite this request from operator. What the right way to work with this logic? Thanks you.

I am currently working on a project using CODESYS and Control Win on a Windows computer. I've encountered an issue where I am unable to save a CSV file. I have followed the standard procedures and used the appropriate file handling functions, but the file is not being created or saved as expected. It is well known that you need to increase the value of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow to solve the "Fieldbus lost synchronicity" issue. In the official document, IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow is explained as the toleration of a certain jitter. But the official document doesn't explain what kind of the jitter is. Is it the jitter of DC sync deviation, master timer or something else? It is very important to know the insights of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow. For example, if it is the toleration of DC sync deviation, and the official recommending value is 200us for CODESYS SoftMotion. It means maximum of DC sync deviation is 200us. It is unacceptable for some high precision motion control tasks, for example high speed gear task, etc. Increasing the value of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow will increase the deviation of motor rotation sync if it is the toleration of DC sync deviation. So, would anyone tell me what the insights of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow is? Thanks.

Hi, I have successfully deployed "Virtual Control SL" on a few x86/64 machines now. However, I'd now like to deploy this to a Raspberry Pi (ARM64). To do this I prepared the Raspberry Pi5 with the following prereq's; * Minimal PREEMPT Debian * Latest Bootfirmware * full SSH access via non-root account * Podman * RedHat Cockpit with CODESYS LicensServer plugin up and running However, I can't seem to resolve copying the correct (deploy) Images as they wont show up in the CODESYS IDE I have added CODESYS Virtual Control for Linux SL and the CODESYS LicenseServer for Linux SL via the CODESYS installer on my DevBox. I open CODESYS > Tools > Deploy Control SL Next I enter the SSH targets IP and Credentials and for my RPi5 and it shows "Connected". In the next tab, Deployment, the dropdown box only shows one (1) image, which also is the incorrect CPU architecture. Only Virtual Control AMDx64 shows up (!?) while I expect to see the ARM64 based images for both Edge and Control. Has someone encountered this too? The probelm arises for the B&R T30 panel after updating Codesys from 3.5.17 to 3.5.19 patch 5. We have to use 3.5.19 for other reasons so we cannot downgrade the version. The scaling problem only exists for the B&R 6PPT30.0702.20F025 panel, the B&R T50 panel and a esa lumia panel work. When we choose a fixed resolution it looks also good, however we also want to support the esa lumia panel with a different resolution. The images show the anisotropic and isotropic option. In the anisotropic option it scales the hight correctly but not the width and in the isotropic option is scales both hight and width false, it also does not start in the top left corner. Does someone have any suggestion why it does not work anymore with the new codesys version and are there workarounds? I added all versions with visualization packages as an image, visuElems is 4.4.0.0.

For this purpose, I am exploring the possibility of utilizing the Web Browser feature of the Visualization toolbox. Example: In a standard web browser, entering data:text/plain;charset=utf-8;base64,SGVsbG8gc3RyYW5nZXI= in the URL window will display "Hello stranger" on the webpage. Issue: When attempting to use this method in the Web Browser of the Visualization toolbox, the content does not display as expected. Instead, it shows the error:'Navigation to the webpage was canceled.'. Request: I seek guidance on how to resolve this issue so that the Web Browser in the Visualization toolbox correctly interprets and displays the data URI content. Alternative Solution Welcomed: Or, if it is possible to directly use Codesys Structured Text (ST) variables within an HTML page, this approach would also meet my requirements. Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with my problem. I am new to programming and am currently working with a WAGO controller in our lab, which controls a heat pump. My goal is to send the electrical power of the heat pump (Pel_WP) via a UDP connection to a specific IP address. I am using Codesys version 2.3 and following the guide I found here: https://forge.codesys.com/forum/de/396/genmed-Konfiguration%20der%20UDP%20Kommunikation%20Cosesys%20S7.pdf. I have adapted the guide to suit my needs. The data sending works since I can force the reception value Pel_WP and the data is sent accordingly. However, I am having trouble with the receiving part. The reception value is not being correctly received, and the diSocket variable shows -1. The connection between the heat pump and the WAGO controller seems to be set up correctly, as the heat pump is listed under the communication parameters with the correct IP address. I have also attached images to provide a better view of the setup. I would greatly appreciate any support or suggestions for a solution. Thank you in advance!

I use the Linux ARM64SL (4.11) on a bullseye distro and when I want to update or install some package, I have the following reply : pi@NanoPi-R5C:~$ sudo apt upgrade Reading package lists... The following packages have unmet dependencies: ** codesyscontrol : Depends: codemeter but it is not installable or codemeter-lite but it is not installable** E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution). and if I try apt --fix-broken install as suggested, I have a proposal to uninstall codesyscontrol ... :-D so I tried to search if there is some Codesys repo: nothing, then I tried to see if ther was something inside Codesys dev (V3.5.20) and I only found that by reading/requesting my device, i spoted that codemeter was too old . I don't see how to deal with this issue. is there a codemeter.deb somewhere ? thanks in advance for any help.

Thank you @TimvH It is clear that licences are application based and now thanks to your reply I could understand the meaning of RT systems. The RT called "CODESYS Control for Linux ARM SL" can be deployed on a generic debian based ARM system. The RT called "CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL" is more specific for Rasberry HW. Did I understand correctly? Regarding the RT called "CODESYS Virtual Control SL" despite its description it is not clear to me when to use it. It seems that a project created using such RT system can be deployed on any HW. It sound good obviously, as it means that it is possible to realize a completely abstract project from its hardware. The only limit could be represented by the need of using a specific HW or OS feature, in that case a more specific RT system should be chosen. Is my last consideration correct? Regards Rossano

Hi, I would like to divide a project into multiple applications - as a minimum: one handling visualization and Alarm Manager, one handling I/O and plant control logic. But how to exchange variables between the applications? What have you done to get such a solution? In versions 3.5.19 and earlier, you can have Child applications, where the children can access a GVL in the Parent application. Children apps is no longer possible in 3.5.20 - but you can have 'sibling' apps - Several apps directly under PLC Logic, that is. But how do they best communicate? The Communication Manager / Data Sources Manager is sort of possible via OPC UA, but it seems like overkill and with some limitations - for example no ARRAY OF STRUCT possible this way. If you have separate devices in your project, you can exchange data via 'CODESYS ApplicationV3', but not other applications in the same device (see attachment Datasources.png). You can do it via 'Select the project type'->'Other Project' and select the same project file, but this leads to crashing the Development system when working with the variables afterwards. It would be great to hear your thoughts / experiences on this topic - Bjarne

Thanks for this - I have now been looking in to just having an extra (non-RTE) runtime on the same machine, as you suggest. I will probably proceed this way. Even though it still seems very odd to me, that variable exchange to a different runtime is easier than between applications on the same controller. There will be some fun with the licensing, it seems. Does anyone know if it is possible to specify which license container/specific license the runtime is going to use at runtime. Let's say I have two available licenses with different resources available, for example one license allows multicore and multiple EtherCAT channels, but not many visu tags (for the RTE). Another with less resources but a lot of visu tags (for the Visu controller). Let's say the program in one of the controllers could be fully licensed by either of the two available licenses, but picks the 'largest' first. A bit later, the larger application starts, but is left with the smaller license.. How can I make sure that the 2 runtimes select the right license at startup?

Hello all, I am using the OPC UA server with my custom information model. I have used the communication manager to add my information model under my application and created instances from OPC UA types. I see that the created instances in the OPC UA server has some opaque nodeid (attached screenshot) and I want to change that. Therefore I have the following questions: 1. Is there a way to configure the NodeIds of instances in the OPC UA server? I tried to edit it using the UaExpert client but got error "BadNotWriteable". is it possible to configure it somewhere so that the nodeids can be changed using an external client? 2. Is there a way to define the rule for creating instance nodeids within the codesys IDE? 3. Is it possible to create the instances before e.g. using a modelling tool like UaModeler and import them as part of the information model and use them later? Using the communication manager, I can only create instances from types. I couldn't find a way to map my existing instances to plc tags from my application. It would be nice if someone could help me with these issues. Thanks in advance. :)

Hi, Communication with the ADS1115 is actually simple. 1. write config 2. write address pointer 3. read conversation register The ADS1115 works like a multiplexer. This means that you do this individually for each channel that you want to read. e.g: Channel 1: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 2: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 3: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 4: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register then you start again from the beginning You can also omit individual channels or read only one. It doesn't matter. I have written the driver so that I can also use it on the TCA9548. The driver is from Stefan Dreyer. In your case, the driver works and communication with the ADS1115 is running. As you can see, the cfgWrong:=FALSE If you could not write or read data, cfgWrong:=TRUE; This means that either something is wrong with your ADS1115 or you have connected something incorrectly. Question: what voltage do you want to measure?

My topic is more of academic nature, I would like to implement an XOR-operation with four inputs on my own (without the predefined XOR-operator) in a function block diagram (FBD). I have two proposals. One works fine and the other one is just an idea, but I do not know, if it is possible to code it in CODESYS V3.5 SP18 in form of a FBD. Here the one that works: And here an idea, which I have not managed to code it as an FBD: Any ideas? Is the 2nd diagram a correct interpretation of the coding task? And is there a way to implement it in form of an FBD in CODESYS V3.5 SP18? Followup (08-Nov-2024): Also in the current version of CODESYS (V3.5SP20Patch3) I have not managed to connect the existing blocks. In the alternative SPS-IDE PLCnext Engineer it is possible.

Hello everyone, I wanted to write here because it is a similar and the most up-to-date topic. I want to connect to CoDeSys Win V3 x64 - 3.5.19.50 with OPC UA using WinCC Advanced V17. (Or to a PLC with CoDeSys Version 4.10.0.0) My settings are exactly the same as the previous comment. I even tried many different settings. I can access all CoDeSys OPC UA variables via TIA Portal IDE and add them to my HMI tags. When WinCC RT Advanced is started, it gives a warning that the connection could not be established and does not update the variables. I can connect to Inovance AM600 using CoDeSys Target version 3.5.11.50. (The same version Win x64 is also connected.) However, a security setting in the current versions prevents me. I would be very happy if those who have up-to-date experience on this issue and find a solution share it. The CoDeSys Security Settings which I can access variables with TIA Portal: CommunicationPolicy: POLICY_BASICSHA256SHA256 CommunicationMode: ALL Activation: Activated UserAuthentication: ENABLED Server Certificate: Valid until 2034 Greetings.

Hello! I am trying to compare 2 projects via the --compare CLI option. In the docs for the --compare option, it describes the usage as .\CODESYS.exe --compare "project path 1" "project path 2". I store my projects in WSL2 on my windows machine. Since CODESYS is happy to open those projects via a path like \\wsl.localhost\home\project.project. So, to compare, I use the command .\CODESYS.exe --compare "\\wsl.localhost\home\prog1.project" "\\wsl.localhost\home\prog2.project". This results in CODESYS just opening the project and starting, not comparing the two projects. No errors are thrown, and I know the paths are correct since I can open both independently in CODESYS, and I can compare them manually through the CODESYS UI. I have also tried moving my projects to the Windows 11 OS and still have the same issue. CODESYS opens the project and does not actually compare them. I am using CODESYS profile v3.5 sp20 patch 1. What is the correct way to compare 2 projects using the --compare CLI option?

Some findings on this issue: PEAK CAN Driver is the same as in every PCI card from PEAK. I updated the inf file. Here are my steps: 1. Include right VendorID into the *.inf file 2. Disable Windows driver check (Disable WHQL check). This you need because 3S driver is not certified. You will find steps via google or ask chatgpt :) 3. Select: Select driver from a list and navigate to the folder. Say yes to install an uncertified driver. 4. Driver installed and device without errors I did the same with CAN Card from ESD, but here you dont need to include the vendor ID. In ANY CASE it was not successful. The RTIOwdmgeneric is not available in Codesys or anyhow accassable :( I wonder that it fails in two cases, two suppliers, two driver in the same way. How can RTIOwdmgeneric implemented into the project?

I am trying to install the MQTT Client SL in an existing project I have been working on for years. After adding the library to the project, and without adding any other code, upon building I get a C0180: Ambiguous namespace 'MBM' error between the memory block manager (MBM) in the NetBaseSrv dependency of the MQTT Client SL library and the memory block manager (MBM) in the CAA CanL2 dependency of the 3S CANopen stack library. I have tried: * setting "Only allow qualified access to all identifiers." in the properties for both the parent libraries. * deleting the 3S CANopen stack library. Upon (re)building the error simply points to another conflicting library - there are many. * deleting the Library Manager and rebuilding it. * adding the memory block manager library (used in the NetBaseSrv) manually and changing its namespace to MBM3S. None of the above allow me to access the MQTT library through its namespace (MQTT). Adding the memory block manager manually removes the C0180 error, but the MQTT library is not accessible - i.e. mqttClient : MQTT.MQTTClient; highlights the mqttClient as "Identifier 'MQTT.MQTTClient' not defined". Is there anything else I can try?
