Hello all, I cannot find anything connecting IEC-61499 to CODESYS. Considering the quality of the CODESYS IEC-61131-3 implementation and that IEC-61499 expands on it, literally including as integral part, why is there no mention of CODESYS and IEC-61499 anywhere on the internet?

Hi Everybody, I download the Visualization on the Dell tablet as HMI. The button of HMI does not work with any touches. However, the buttons is working well with a plugged in mouse. Is there any configuration in Visu. manager or setting that I can modify? (Latitude 7230 Rugged Extreme Tablet) Please help me.

Dear Forum, I'm currently switching to Codesys V3.5 SP19. When I want to do an online change, I get the option to update the boot project, in other (codesys based) packages this is checked on by default. In Codesys V3.5 SP19 (and maybe older versions) this is unchecked by default. We are doing a lot of remote updates with systems that almost never power cycle. In other words when this box is forgotten the system will run fine until a blackout. Is it possible to get it checked on by default? This question was asked before, but no answers where given. https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/ffb4ffa298/ Thank you in advance.

Hello otdeveloper, I am very interested in this topic. I have been dedicated to IEC 61499 for some time and I would like to understand if the time has come to adopt it in the real world of automation or if it will continue to fill up research papers only.

Hi DavidBo, In general Codesys is used to control equipment and an exception is the worst thing that can happen in your installation. If you cannot prevent the exception from triggering, you could implement a Try catch statement, with this solution your controller keeps on running and you are able to handle the exception. __TRY //This statement will trigger an exception Result := 4/0; __CATCH(exc) //Handle the exception HandleException(exc, strExceptionText => strExceptionText); // From the Codesys help file //Create a log file //-------------------------------------------------------- __ENDTRY What you also could do is implement implicit checks, these functions cover most of the exceptions (like dividing by zero) See picture But in general avoid a complete controller shutdown!

It is being worked on by many companies and its even-driven function blocks seem like a natural evolution of the object oriented industrial programming I have seen Gary Pratt (author of the Book of CODESYS and much more) so expertly implement and explain. I would expect CODESYS to have this front and center on their sights and, if they do not, I would be very interested in learning why.

Eigentlich alles ok - sollte gehen - der MDBX wie ist der konfiguriert (also die PDO's) auf Änderung / zyklisch? Wenn du einen CAN Monitor hast, anschließen und schauen was genau auf dem BUS los ist. Also einen CAN Trace machen.

IEC 61499 is probably something more complex than what you have correctly said so the prospects are interesting but we cannot ignore that it came out almost 20 years ago and has not won many hearts. I started to explore this world with a PLCnext controller because I love these devices based on RT Linux and Codesys is somehow usable with them but I have made little progress and I feel like inside a nutshell in the middle of the sea ;-) Gary's voluminous and precious book is always on my desk...

Hi @eschwellinger, I have been trying out v1.0 of the new ladder and have a few questions. I have warnings Expression or part of it has no effect I can't get rid of them, what do they exactly mean? Using the ST_Block, is there a way when online to open the ST_Block and view the running code? Thanks!

Hier der Code: fopen.sFileName:=sFileName; fopen.eFileMode:=File.MODE.MAPPENDPLUS; // Neu erstellen und anhängen fopen.xExclusive:=TRUE; fopen( xExecute:=TRUE); IF fopen.xDone THEN hFile:=fopen.hFile; sStringToWrite:=''; writeIndex:=0; SchrittDatenlog:=60; END_IF Wo liegt mein Fehler?

Post by mondinmr on Direct Pointers in IOMapping for EtherCAT with IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave_Dia

Using SDO, I can read the EtherCAT mappings and offsets from various registers like 0x1c12, 0x1c13, etc. When I obtain registers mapped in the PDOs and various offsets, I could technically access directly to the statusword, controlword, etc., if they are mapped. I have noticed that on IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave_Diag I can find pointers to the input and output buffers. However, although the input buffer can be easily read by referring to what has been obtained from the SDOs, it is not possible to write to the output buffer, as it is overwritten in each cycle by the data from the IOMapping task. Is there a way, knowing an instance of IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave_Diag, to obtain the pointer to the first data in the IOMapping? The offsets are identical to those of the PDOs, but obviously the data is a copy. For me, the cleanest thing would be to access the pointers on IOMapping, for DS402a devices to retrieve the key data and point them to internal references. I need to know this as, having developed our own motion library, I would like to simplify the initial setup by eliminating unnecessary and nonsensical mappings that can lead users to unnecessary errors. In the current version that we have been using for years, we have to map everything manually. I would like to pass only the slave reference to the FB_init constructors and eliminate the mapping.

I currently have ladder logic for when the button is pressed just need the action side for setting the active visualization. Any help is appreciated.

Hello, I encountered similar problems, and it appears they were linked to certain add-ons. Resolving this issue turned out to be quite complex. However, we managed to find a solution by downgrading both the "CODESYS Communication" and "CODESYS Recipes" components via the CODESYS Installer, accessible under the "Tools" section.

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
