Hi @eschwellinger, I tried this with Modbus COM slaves. I was able to disable them (slave becomes greyed out in the device tree), but the DED.Reconfigure "eError" output shows "NOT_SUPPORTED". After this, when I tried to re-enable the slave, it did not work (device stayed greyed out in the device tree), and the DED.Reconfigure "eError" output also showed "NOT_SUPPORTED". Is there something to do about this, or the device just doesn't support reconfiguration? P.S: I tried this running locally on my computer (not in simulation mode). So of course I was not physically connected to the devices. I have two similar projects, but one of them doesn't have the Modbus_COM devices. I know I can "Exclude from build" the devices for that project, but I would really prefer not to do this if possible. I would prefer to dynamically toggle a configuration variable that would enable or disable the slaves.

Hello, I am trying to re-create the CoE online window within a Visu for purposes of checking and interacting with device parameters occasionally for maintenance purposes. To minimize reliance on using the IDE for misc interactions. Ideally, I would like to exactly mimic the CoE online window within the IDE. I assume that it uses a few tricks to minimize overhead, such as only polling registers which are within the visual scope, for example. I'm afraid it might be too much to ask for a pre-built drop-in Visu module to exist for this task. Do I have any options aside from manually re-creating all the logic to do this, relying heavily on SdoInfo function blocks? Is there a way for me to reference the device ESI file to shortcut the process of determining how many registers there are and getting the address for each?

Hello guys, I have the following problem with the Codesys visualization (4.6.0) and Codesys V3.5.20.20. I would like to use my own HTML5 elements for my visualization. To do this, I have to select the option “Support client animations and overlay of native elements” in the visualization manager. But with the selection of this option, the visu has a massive loading delay when changing frame content. This happens even if I have not even added HTML5 elements. However, if this option is deactivated, then changing the content of the frames works without any problems, it loads instantly. I have already tried to change various refresh rates but without success. Have any of you experienced this and been able to fix it?

You get an array of DWORD into your receive buffer. You need to process this into usable data, before you can fit it into your DUT. I've made it work using FbWrite_ToIEC_ByRule in stead of Fb_JSON_ParseAndModify. I've attached images of the code. You receive the data into ARRAY[0..1023] OF DWORD. Then you use that array as the input for fbWrite_ToIEC_ByRule. To get the output from this you define a rule to fit the expected data structure including nesting levels. The you feed the rule into FbWrite_ToIEC_ByRule and then you can set the output to be of your DUT type.

I don't seem to be able to use an axis, which is part of an Axis Group in torque control mode. I call the SMC_SetControllerMode FB to switch from position to torque control mode, followed by the SMC_SetTorque FB to set the desired torque. This works flawlessly for most axes, however if an axis is part of an axis group, switching the controller mode seems to work without any issues, but the desired torque is never set. SMC_SetTorque does not return an error, but fSetTorque of the axis is never changed. Disabling the axis group before does not change anything, but if I use MC_UngroupAllAxes before changing the controller mode, it all works as it should. Is there no way to control a single axis in torque control, if it is part of an axis group?

Hello, I got a bit of a weird issue going on which is kind of annoying. So recently we switched a lot of Modbus IO to EtherCAT, as we were having issues with stability. All works fine, which is great. But sometimes when I change the program I get errors claiming that identifiers are not defined. Meaning I can't go online. See the picture below. I believe this is because some of these identifiers were used with Modbus, and they weren't properly removed/deleted? A clean all temporary fixes the issue, but it comes back again after a while of changing the code, and building. Any way to fix these non-existing required identifiers, or even find out where they are required? Thanks for the help in advance. Jasper.

Hi all :) I have an plc. This plc has option to be as slave device. There are TCP -> Serial Slave Device and COM -> Serial Slave Device. There are 4096 ModBus holding registers with mark "internal modify" for the both devices above. So, COM Slave has 4096 registers and TCP Slave has 4096 registers. And, finally, I have an ARRAY[0..4095] OF WORD. This array glued with COM Slave and TCP slave. Yes, I need plc's opportunity to be communication both TCP and COM ways for the same registers. For example, the next task structure: * TASK_0: 1. pou_READ_Registers 2. pou_0 3. pou_1 4. ... 5. pou_N 6. pou_WRITE_Registers At the first pou I read registers for the other pous, after job we have sort of state of the plc. At the last pou (6) we write modified registers. It is a good scenario: some one wrote registers for the job, after job we save these (modified) registers. But, what if registers wrote between 1 and 6 pou by operator, for example, at the 3 pou -> the last pou 'pou_WRITE' will rewrite this request from operator. What the right way to work with this logic? Thanks you.

Hello together I'm currently investing in possibilities to have a central engineering software / system for Codesys based controllers. Something like a DCS / SCADA depending on where you see the functionality. We plan to use more or less vanilla codesys. The tool should support the following: - Connect to multiple PLC's in a project to see its variables and debug it. - Central Engineering capabilities (for example shared libraries in a project). - Download the new code / binaries to the plc. - Maybe have functionality to combine visualization elements and logic together. - See the live status variables on all the systems (crosscommunication). I see that codesys theoretically supports engineering of multiple PLC's, but I couldnt find to much functionality for a DCS type of operation, but that could be lack of knowledge. Any tips from you? Is Codesys good enough for this and maybe there are some manufacturers which build around it? Or are there good tools on the market with Codesys support (and the engineering is separate, but download to codesys possible). The use case is distributed energy installations like Heating pumps, Photovoltaics, etc. All these installations should have a PLC with codesys installed and run in one larger network, the PLC's are connected via VPN. Win+R > services.msc > Look in the list CODESYS Control Win V3 x64 Gateway OR CODESYS Gateway V3 Hook up the M12 code D into the ETH port, supply the controller, it should apperars to you. Make sure when you try to connect with the controller, the target of your project has to match with the controller. Otherwise, click on the device in the devices tree > Communications Settings tab > Device > Options > And disable "Filter Network Scans by Target ID". Good luck.

I do datastructures and algorithms in Codesys. For example a Struct of Person with thing's like IdNumber, Name, Age etc. as example. Now i do all kind of calculations, filters. So i have this pretty big Fixed Array with Structs. On this struct i want to do simple stuff you can do easily in C++/Python/Rust etc. For example i want to do this: AvererageAge := Average(Peoples.Age); Then it will return the average of all members ages. Or Sort struct on age etc. Or sort on alphabetical Name. Or use Lambda functions to filter/mutate out things like, filter out everybody above 18 years old. Or remove people who it's name start with "A". Currently i have to write my own custom function for example sorting on Age. And make a super specific function based on that particulare datastructure. Not really DRY code right? These are custom made bubble sort filters in a function. You pass in the Datastructure, and say what function you want. (This is an enum collection of sorting functions) And then the Array with Nodes of Structs gets ordered. Why can't we have Iterators and Lambda's and build in standard functions like regular languages? Also i use bubble sort because it's the easiest to implement because i can't get this to code DRY. Problem with ST (Even the new one with classes) that it's very limited for programming datastructures and algorithms. Yes you still not want dynamic memory and you need to choose the correct algorithm so you know the most extreme edge cases regarding the time it takes to execute the algorithms.(Real-time execution) How are other people dealing with this? Here for example saw some software using an adjusted ST language and having FOR EACH possibility: https://www.fernhillsoftware.com/help/iec-61131/structured-text/st-for-each.html You can then build your own custom Iterator functions. I wish the IEC 61131-3 standard would be more expressive and having more standard modern features, but still keep close to the fact of no dynamics memory and real-time systems.

I have some Symbols from the Visualization Toolbox on my Target Visu on the Computer. I tried many Symbols, mainly Arrows. I'm able to control the visibility with condition e.g. "GVL.actual_testvalues.speed <= 0" But I can't do "Toggle color" with boolean GVL.b_toggle_color. Neither "TRUE" nor "FALSE" does change anything. Is this a known issue? I'm using CODESYS V3.5 SP19 Patch 5 + (64-bit). See attached file with more Version-Info. I'm currently using Style 6, Gradient axial 2, 3.5.12.0. I had the same issue with Default 3.5.16.0.

Good morning, I'm new on Codesys Forge, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to talk about my problem. When I open my WebVisu pages with Microsoft Edge, or Chrome, the background and also some rectangles blinking without reason!!! The application is developed with Codesys 3.5.17.10 and run on Codesys HMI, same version (3.5.17.10). After several experiments I discover that the problem happens when I made dynamic the "End of area" property of a meter object, but I can't understand why this blinking problem happens. Also, the problem is only at the WebVisu page, the "normal" VISU pages (the ones opened when Codesys HMI start) work always perfectly. Another strange thing is that the problem happens only if on the same page, where there is the meter object, there is also a trend object!?!? Codesys HMI is running on a Virtual Machine (VMware Workstation 15 player, v.15.5.6) running Windows 10 Pro N 64-bit. The blinking problem happen also if I convert the project to Codesys 3.5.20.0. This version of Codesys and Codesys HMI are installed on a Virtual Machine running Windows Server 2019 Standard 64-bit. In attachment the archive of my project. The attached project has only one page, if "Enable Counter" is not pressed the "End of area" variable of the meter is not updated in the software, and everything work well, normal VISU and WebVisu; if "Enable Counter" is pressed, the "End of area" variable of the meter is updated in the software, and the WebVisu page start blinking. I tried also to enable the "Support client animations and overlay..." property at VisualizationManager, this seems stop the blinking problem, but that property also destroy my WebPage, moving almost all the graphical object, that also seem not working anymore. I really need help to understand what I'm doing wrong, I have to develop a bigger project and I have to understand if trend objects and animated meters cannot stay in the same page. In the final project the WebVisu will be very important because the customer will use this way to access the application to monitor the process. Regards

Hello everyone, I'm currently using CODESYS v3.5 SP10 on Windows 11, and I've noticed that syntax errors are not automatically underlined in red as they normally should be. Is there a specific setting that needs to be enabled for this feature to work? If so, could you please let me know where to find it? I’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling CODESYS, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Also, i have a teammate who have exactly the same computer as me and he didnt encounter any issue. With CODESYS V3.5 it is possible for a user to do the following things among many others. 1) Handling certificates especially move a certificate to the trusted folder. 2) Change password and create new users for OPC UA access However it requires access to the whole projects and its source code. Something you might not want to hand over to an end user for a stand alone product. Is there a way out of this problem?

Hi I was wondering if there's a pattern I can employ to acheive what you're doing but with a "reference to" and also allowing for online changes? Someone told me that the new beckhoff keeps references safe during online changes but all the documentation I've found suggests that's not the case. The easiest thing is to use fb_init for normal vars and pointers and references can be added in the function body every cycle and this allows for method calls after so far as I can tell.

Hi everyone, I just created a very simple library without any code and, added it to my very simple project. after adding this library, I get an error when I try to open "Symbol Set" in "OPC UA Server" in "Communication Manager". I also noticed that by removing the enumeration variable above (eCommand), I can open the "Symbol Set" again.
