Hi, We are currently using a Raspberry Pi 4 CM4 module in a EdgeBox RPI 200 - Industrial Edge Controller running the latest CODESYS Runtime Package 4.11.0.0. On the PC (actually an Intel Macbook Pro running Windows 10 in Parallels) we run CODESYS V3.5.19.50. Yesterday end of day when I was about to logoff and head home, I wanted to send the latest build to the Raspberry I clicked the Login button to compile a new version and then sync the application and all the files, it get's stuck on the last file to sync (see attached screenshot). This takes eternally, although sometimes, when I use my SFTP client (Cyberduck) and go into the raspberry and refresh the directory /var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic/visu/, or when I open the actual file visuelemsdatetime.tl_datetime.txt, it gets un-stuck (forcing a refresh, which might fix the syncing issue) and CODESYS continues and I can click the Start button to start the application. But this SFTP force refresh trick does not always help either... What could be the issue here? network connectivity? Can someone please help me out?

Hi Dear All, I'm using my raspberry PI4 as a CoDeSyS PLC (Build from scratch with custom electronics). I was able to implement all fieldbuses with the exception of Modbus Serial. I'm using the internal Port (GPIO) and I configured it in /etc/Codesyscontrol_user.cfg the following away: [SysCom] Linux.Devicefile.1=/dev/ttyUSB0 Linux.Devicefile.2=/dev/ttyS0 I'm using COM2 on Master configuration. I'm using a interface board from TTL/RS485 (bidirectional board), and it's works perfectly with other devices but not in CoDeSyS. I'm able to send data with python script and read it on my pc using putty, but when I use a modbus slave simulator to interface with codesys I always get red icons on master and slave. (Please find image attached). I'm pretty shure that this might be a bad parameter on my CoDeSyS runtime configurstion file. Can someone help me? I'm stuck and this is for my master degree certification.

Hello mates, I'm working with CODESYS V3.5 SP20 on a Raspberry Pi and I use "Raspberry Pi MC SL" as device on the project. I've installed the Control Standard L (multicore) license on a Wibu System usb-Dongle (cmStick/4.50) that already had another license from another vendor. I follow the online activation procedure from CODESYS documentation. Raspberry Pi has already CodeMeter installed for the other license. When I plugin the dongle on Raspberry and start the Runtime from Raspberry Pi Update in CODESYS I receive the message that I'm on Demo mode because the license is missing. I double checked that the license is activated in the dongle, through the WebAdmin of CodeMeter and the second license runs properly without any issue. I have already try to change the dongle from HID to MSD device and backward but the the Runtime cannot recognize the Dongle. I have also try to stop and start the Runtime through CODESYS without success. Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue?

What we are trying to explain is that, yes CODESYS creates the software, but Epis decides how they implement it on their hardware, which runtime version they use and they decide which functionality they support. So it is always a combination of the two. What CODESYS provides is a runtime with options for e.g. visualization or softmotion. Epis could add this softmotion license as default to their controller, but if they don't then CODESYS provides another option with a single license in a "Wibu CodeMeter" container. Eventhough the feature exists, Epis has to add this "CodeMeter" software on their controller to be able to access the licenses in the container. We don't know if they did this. Then finally it depends on what type of runtime is on this controller and which license Epis is using. So if they have an OEM license (not an application based license), then most likely you will need the Softmotion license (not a number of axis). See https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-softmotion-sl-bundle.html. But to be sure if this is supported by the Epis controller, you must ask Epis.

I have a Python program that will handle things in my application such as VISA over IP and Telnet control of instruments. I want the main control and HMI in Codesys. My problem is communication between the two. I have looked at several ways to accomplish this, and settled on having the Python program create two named pipes, one to send information to Codesys, and one for Codesys to send information to Python. The information would be packetized with \n for end of packet.. Seems simple. I think the named pipes method should work, but file reading in Codesys using the CAA file library starts to get difficult when the file is never ending, as in this case. Before I spend too much time making something that may be fundamentally flawed I want to ask. Is there a better way? Is there a way to read the file 'one line at a time' which might solve my never ending file problem? Thanks!

Hello, Codesys IDE is 3.5.21.30 IoDrvBase is: 3.5.17.8 I am working on implementing Codesys on our I/O product line, using the IO driver examples, and the Linux UDS socket approach. I have sucessfully created an implemetation where I have a Device with mutiple slots, on which I can plug modules. These modules represent our IO modules, and communication is successful. (For this question the assumtion can be made that Codesys commucates with 1 'master' device, which handles further communcation with the IO modules. For the next part of the question it can be assumed that the Master device has a list of which modules are attached/available) I'm now trying to implement the 'Scan for Devices...' feature, but I'm completetly lost on what to do once the IoDrvScanModules method is called in my IoDrvFB. I'm guessing that the ppConnectorList has to be filled with the found devices, but I have no idea if that is the correct approach. And Codesys is not triggering my breakpoints in the method, which makes things more difficult. I hope someone could provide some examples or guidance on what steps I should take to implement the scan feature. Thanks in advance.

Hello I am using an OpusA3 with version 3.5 SP17 Patch 3 as part of a project. I had no real problem before I encountered a problem that blocked me. The detection of the OpusA3 from Codesys is done correctly. The gateway is well configured and if I ping the gateway or the OpusA3 I receive the response correctly. The problem is that when I try to connect, the Opus screen freezes and a few moments later Codesys displays an error message ("connection to device closed"). I tried to change PC, to update the runtime, to change OpusA3 but the problem remains the same. I'm a little lost knowing that before it worked without problem. I went back to a previous version of the project (where it worked correctly) but the message still appears. Do you have any clues to solve the problem? Sincerely,

Hi, I am quite new to Codesys and I try to do a Profinet connection to an Siemens PLC (315-2DP) with CP343-1 Lean Modul. I already configured the Siemens PLC, exported the GSDML. Then I added a new project in Codesys, added following moduls: - Ethernet - PN_Controller - Imported Profinet Device via GSDML importer When I start the programm everything looks fine but I always get the message "Stopped Profinet" and no data is available This is only for a small test. Therefore I start to do that on a Windows 10 with Development System. Later I will try to realize this on Raspberry. Ethernet Adapter is configured (192.168.1.1 / 24) Firewall deactivated WinPCap is installed S7-Station seems to be found ('fuadazenzitest') Can please somebody help me?

Hallo Today I decided to perform an Update on my PFC200 but after the Update the Device was not reachable anymore. I tried reseting to factory reset. Software reset and so on, but nothing helps... In my Router I can see it, I cann SSH into the PFC200 but it is not reachable. Hello, I program a function for an Ethernet/IP controller. I made a structure with input and output corresponding with the map of my controller for the function block. My problem is that I don't know how to do the link between the controller and my PLC (CC 100 from Wago). The addresses declare in Codesys are illogic, The first addresses are 12 and 13 then 7 then 4. How to do corresponding the addresses of the controller and the input / output structure ? IP adress ? Does I must create the all variables of controller with the controller adresses to use with the function block ? Thanks for your help. (I hope I'm clear, I'm not english)

Ich versuche grade die Lizenz für den Revolution Pi zu aktivieren, das hat auch schon im Laufe eines Jahres 20 mal geklappt, jetzt bekomme ich grade nur die Fehlermeldungen zu sehen in den angehängten Screenshots. Die Aktivierung der OPC-Client Lizenz lief ohne Probleme geht nur um die aktivierung für die Codesys Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL. Ich habe sowohl die Webaktivierung versucht als auch in der Codesys IDE, im Lizenz Manager versucht die Lizenz zu aktivieren. Aktivierung mit Dongle kommt nicht infrage da die bei Endkunden eingebaut werden. Hatte jemand ähnliche Probleme, bzw. weiß jemand wie das zu beheben ist? MfG Jannis

Hallo everyone, I am working on new PLC of Weidmueller that uses Codesys SP19. I made the upgrade at the Patch 4 coming from patch 0. Unce made the upgrade everything is working well in the progect except the web visu user menagent. In the new version, when I perfom the login, I cannot use the keyboard of the device; the window where to digit the user name and password opens, the buttons "OK" and "Cancel" work but the system doesn't allow to put input from the device keybord, the mouse behaves as it is an image. If I active the virtual keypad or numpad it works otherwise nothing. I am wondering if it is a bug of the new package or if I must set something else. Thanks in advance, Riccardo.

Hello everyone, I have a problem with the example project Responsive Design Example, which is available here in Codesys Forge. I wanted to try switching the visualization depending on the device type. To do this, I used a smartphone to access it. I can see via breakpoints that the Smartphone visualization is selected, but the visualization of the normal monitor still appears on the smartphone. Could there be a problem with the libraries, or why is the device not assigned the correct visualization page? I dont know how do further debuggin or troubleshooting. Hi all, Im new to Codesys 3.5, and am in the process fo making a visualisation i'd eventually export towards a Wago device. The issue I'm having currently is that when I compile and connect to the simulated program, my simulation won't launch. On the Visualisation tab, all I get is a text message (where previously there was my prepared visualisation) that says "The visualisation awaits a connection. Start the application" One thing to note: I work with Codesys 3.5 in french, so this is a rough translation. And a second: I'm not getting any errors nor warnings about the visualisation tab itself upon compiling Is there a step i'm missing after launching my simulation? Or would it be some really specific issue caused by the way I've set up my program? Thanks, J

Hello folks, my problem is a bit bigger for just one question. So let's start with the easiest. But first, my system setup: It's a WAGO 750-8212 PFC with some I/O-modules. I try to communicate with the controlsystem over SNMP using the IIoT library from codesys. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/de/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_iot_snmp_service.html Is there some expirience with this kind of communication? It's just about transfering some data from PFC to network and setting some analogsettings from network to the PFC. So my easiest question: Do I ever need the SNMP_Agent or can I use the SET / GET function as standalone, without the agent? Now i am running to problem, when i create instances and i want them to appear directly under the object directory, However, it always appear with me under Objects >> Device set >> Device Name in CODESYS. I need to know how i can change the directory of my instances 'inst_3' and so on. So they can be under objects directly. I tried to modify the settings, but couldn't find any leads till now. I ordered a cheap managed switch and tested it as soon as I received the switch. It works great! I even went a bit further. As you can see in the screenshot, I created 2 Codesys containers. Each one having 2 fieldbuses. The first one has EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP and the second one has EtherCAT and Modbus/TCP. All going through the same ethernet port from the PC to the switch. The switch splits it up into 4 different networks. The hardest part was to figure out how to configure the switch. @eschwellinger, thank you very much.

Thank you so much. This worked. Waht im trying to do here is to automatically tag each sensors, valves and so on. There is a preatty nasty tag system i working on. "_320" is not alloved. I can have a tag "+4f=320.004-RT001V" In codesys I want to build the FB in folders. -4f | --320 | --001 This is the system structure. Inside here is all of the sensors and so on. But with Codesys, I cannot tag this like this. So what I'm trying to do now is to Make a folder for the building "4f" and one for the system "320", and a POU _001. Is there a way in init to get folder names?

greetings to everyone I have a system consisting of rpi3 computer with codesys v3 installed connected to one pca9685 through which the servo motors of the two robotic arms are connected (each robot arm has 6 motors) I managed to get that the pca9685 can only drive 4 servos on the first arm the other 2 on the same robot arm do not respond, nor do the remaining 6 they do not react on the other robotic arm. Power is connected to the pca9685 for motors of sufficient power or amperage. I tried to put another pca9685 but the same thing happens again. What is the possible problem?

Hello, I am trying to get TargetVisu for Linux working but i am having some troubles. The problem is that after installation it is not starting automatically on boot and i cannot start it from the update Targetvisu tool. When i try i get the following error (see attached screenshot) The file /opt/codesysvisualization/scripts/codesysvisualization_start.sh is missing... Steps performed: - installed fresh Debian 12.7 on virtual machine - installed all required libraries as described here: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_target_visu_for_linux.html - then installed the TargetVisu for Linux SL 4.13.0.0 using the Codesys IDE Does someone know how i can fix this? Hello All, Hopefully I can get some help configuring an OPC UA subscriber in a CODESYS runtime in a Raspberry Pi 5 that tries to retrieve data from an OPC UA publisher (in this case running in a TwinCAT system). I tried to follow the steps described in the page to implement the OPC UA subscriber: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_opcua_pubsub.html Seems that the example provided was created with version 3.5.16.0. Now with version 3.5.20.20 is not possible to open the complete project neither convert it. Anyway, after configuring all IPs and ports used in the OPC UA connection function block but the connection state always shows DISABLED. Can someone help me to do the proper configuration of the OPC UA subscriber? Many thanks in advance.

Hello guys, I have the following problem with the Codesys visualization (4.6.0) and Codesys V3.5.20.20. I would like to use my own HTML5 elements for my visualization. To do this, I have to select the option “Support client animations and overlay of native elements” in the visualization manager. But with the selection of this option, the visu has a massive loading delay when changing frame content. This happens even if I have not even added HTML5 elements. However, if this option is deactivated, then changing the content of the frames works without any problems, it loads instantly. I have already tried to change various refresh rates but without success. Have any of you experienced this and been able to fix it?

Hi, I tried some different libraries (CmpApp etc.) to find some global variables that I could read out as a variable in the codesys environment. Do any one of you know which libraries are best suited for this, and how I can read it out? My goal is to send messages, warnings etc. to the system that communicates to the PLC. Currently if something goes wrong I need to see the logfiles, or go online with the controller. I think I could save a lot of time if I could read the errors from our user interface that is connected to the PLC by TCP/IP.
