Hi, Thanks for the reply. Please note that the information and links provided are related to OPC UA Client/Server. My problem was related to OPC UA Pub/Sub. In the end I have managed to establish OPC UA Pub/Sub communication between Codesys and TwinCAT systems. Keep in mind that OPC UA Pub/Sub example is not provided in the latest library version 1.1.0.0. The user needs to download the previous version to get the example. During the configuration I ended up with some doubts regarding the usage of IEC_ARRAY type in the dataset definition (see attachment). Can you please give more information on how to use this type? Dear All, I am using CODESYS 3.5.19 SP4 with a PLC device. When I try to download my program to the device, I get the error: "The application 'Application' does not exist on the device". Additionally, after restarting the device, the program does not run automatically. When I connect to the device using WinSCP, I can see that the application.app file is uploaded to the root directory, but the device does not automatically start the application. I tried using the Create Boot Application option, but it does not resolve the issue. Is there another configuration step I am missing? How can I fix this problem? Thank you, Best regards,

Hello, I am already able to run an OPC UA method in Codesys. Now my question, how can I interact with other tasks (e.g. read an SDO from EtherCAT and return it by the function)? The OPC UA method seems to be called only once (I tried to return BOOL or UINT values). Up to now I only found to do a while loop to wait for the result of the other task. Is there a better way to do it? Is this the way OPC UA functions should be used (for "not too long" function calls) or should I use another mechanism (method: Start, event: Finish, method: getResult)? Regards

Hallo, ich hab das Problem eine Alarmliste nachdem exportieren mit oder ohne Eweiterung der Liste wird nicht wieder importiert. Unter Meldungen "Import von Alarmen" steht: "Ein Element mit dem gleichen Schlüssel wurde bereits hinzugefügt.(Zeile 0, Spalte 0)" "Import der Alarme erfolgreich abgeschlossen" Es erscheinen aber nirgends die Alarme, in vorherigen Versionen hat das immer ohne Probleme geklappt. Auch ein ändern der ID und der anderen Spalten, hinzufügen und entfernen von Spalten hat leider nicht geklappt. Selbst wenn ich eine Zeile in der Alarmgruppe erstelle die Funktioniert, diese exportiere, die Zeile lösche und wieder importiere kommen immer die gleichen Meldungen und kein Alarm wird importiert. Ich hab die Funktion schon länger nicht mehr gebraucht, deshalb kann ich nicht sagen seit welcher CoDeSys Version die Funktion nicht mehr funktioniert. Hat hier jemand eine Lösung? Gruß Max

Hallo zusammen, ich nutze eine Wago 8212 als Modbus Client (in früheren Codesys Versionen hieß der Modbus Master) und habe einen weitere Wago 8212 als Modbus Server (früher Modbus Slave). Bisher habe ich für den Client den Funktionsblock FbMbMasterTcp aus der WagoAppPlcModbus-Library genutzt. Zukünftig würde ich das allerdings gerne über das Anhängen eines Modbus-Geräts am Ethernet-Knoten im Projektbaum realisieren. Zum besseren Verständnis habe ich ein Bild beigefügt. Der Modbus mit dem Server läuft auch. Kommt es allerdings zum Fehler des Modbus, z.B. kurzzeitig keine Verbindung oder timeout, wird der Fehler nicht automatisch quittiert. Ich muss dann manuell über den Status des Server-Knotens einen Button mit "Bestätigen" drücken. Im Betrieb kann ich mich aber nicht jedes Mal einloggen um einen Fehler zu quittieren. Gibt es hier irgend einen Trick, wie ich das aus dem Programm-Code quittieren kann? Vielen Dank schon einmal.

Hello, I am using Codesys on an industrial pc with a single monitor. I would also like to have a separate vision software running on the PC and would like to display it half screen. When I run the soft PLC the my visualization screen appears full screen, I would like to be able to set the size of the visualization screen so I can display other software on the monitor. Is it possible to set the width/height of the targetVisu? Anyone try something similar? I would like to avoid having to put it on a Virtual Machine. Thank you

If you mean you want to shift the Origin or Zero position of your axis, you can try MC_SetPosition and set the position to 0 (if you want to take the current active position and make it the new 0. Adjust this number accordingly if/as needed). This means the servo drive keeps it's current origin position, and Codesys applies an offset to the servo drive position in the logic. You can also use the homing function of your servo drive using MC_Home and have your drive configured to set the current position as origin when it receives a homing command.

Auf die Schnelle fällt mir keine Möglichkeit ein, wie die Webvisu aus dem WebBrowser heraus den PC auf dem der Browser läuft, direkt beeinflussen, sprich herunterfahren könnte. Die Webvisu ist ja letztlich nichts anderes, als eine HTML Seite, die im Browser angezeigt wird. Als einzige Lösung fällt mir der file transfer (Beispiel findest du hier https://content.helpme-codesys.com/de/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_visu_logging_of_variable_value_changes-1799730.html) ein. Du könntest über einen Button in der Visu z.B. eine Datei shutdown.txt von der PLC an den IPC senden. Auf dem IPC müsste dann entsprechend ein Dienst laufen, der zyklisch schaut: Datei shutdown.txt vorhanden, wenn ja, Datei löschen und IPC herunterfahren. Viel Erfolg!

It seems working, but when I'm trying to import the xml I have the following error during the importation process: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. It seems a usual issue with this process that affects to the pointer to user classes inside a procedure. I receive this error for two general functions that have this pointer declarations in the VAR_INPUT section. It seems a bug into the export/import process of CodeSYS and I couldn't skip it so far. I got a Wago PFC200V2, running Codesys 3.5.16.40, 100ms scan cycle, consumes about 20ms. It will randomly crash the runtime every 10 minutes to a few hours. We suspect an overloaded ModbusTCP Slave Device, as this is work done by a 3rd party contractor, but we can not find anything in the help files or documentation, that mentions a hard limit on maximum number of clients connections. This PLC currently has 44 client connections to the Slave Device and 29 slaves configured for its own Master Device. You need to activate an individual license (ticket number) for each device. THe hardware of each device is unique, so you cannot copy a soft container from one device to another. This license can be installed in a local (wibu - codemeter) soft container, or you could optionally activate it on a hardware (USB) key. The benefit of the key is that you can easily move it to another device, nor does it get lost when you replace parts of the hardware of the device or completely overwrite the image. Also I set trigering mode to Application. I have already a project where the file is used (write on demand, read by start) and I want to share it as 'default input' for test devices using the identical application. Opening the .ret file content in a hex editor (I only use a single string retain var) I asked myself what the meaning of the first 24 bytes is. It neither contains a handle to the application nor a reference to the variable. Is this maybe a timestamp? Or a CRC/checksum? Regards, Thomas

I just found this and I am getting a value larger than 16 bit, around 81000 something. I am reading a 5 volt value and I am using level shifters for the i2c bus. Any idea where to look to fix this? I think i found what I want to change in UpdateChannels Channels[FChannelNo].Value := INT_TO_REAL(WORD_TO_INT(LValue) * GetFullScaleRange(ChannelConfigs[FChannelNo].PGA)) / 2048.0; I try to edit it but I can't, sorry if this is a basic question, I am new to CODESYS.

(Like for example in Python). By surfing the internet I found out that Function Blocks is the best method for this. Now I would like to delve further into this, with all the possibilities that Function Blocks have only I cannot find a clear course, explanation of what everything is around the function block thing and how to approach everything. I find the standard documentation around Function Blocks rather abstract and the examples are minimal. Therefore I am looking for a page/course/document explaining object oriented programming in Codesys (or other PLC programming environment). Do you have any recommendations on this?

You get an array of DWORD into your receive buffer. You need to process this into usable data, before you can fit it into your DUT. I've made it work using FbWrite_ToIEC_ByRule in stead of Fb_JSON_ParseAndModify. I've attached images of the code. You receive the data into ARRAY[0..1023] OF DWORD. Then you use that array as the input for fbWrite_ToIEC_ByRule. To get the output from this you define a rule to fit the expected data structure including nesting levels. The you feed the rule into FbWrite_ToIEC_ByRule and then you can set the output to be of your DUT type.

This is a phenomenon that I have seen myself and with others. Texas instruments wrote an application note with this same issue. They noted with Codesys 3.5.19.10, that selecting CPU 1 as the EtherCAT task showed CPU spiking improvements over the performance of cores 0, 2, and 3. It appears to be linked to EtherCAT, are you configuring for use with distributed clocks? If so, I recommend choosing the 'Based on Input Reference' option. Dear all, I have a project where I have two ModbusTCP communication drivers in the application. It's working normally until a power outage or the installation panel is restarted. As soon as the PLC CPU is restarted, the Ethernet port is OK, but the TCP Server displays an "UNDEFINED" error. I can't reset the error using the diagnostic confirmation or the "mbserver.xConfirmError" bit. I noticed that the error only appears in the "mbserver.byModbusError" memory and the description is "UNDEFINED." The "mbserver.xError" memory doesn't flag an error. When using the warm restart function and then START CPU, the devices return to normal operation. The following demonstration images; The main question is: How can I make devices boot automatically? Hi, How can i display targetvisualization in full screen on the target device? I installed Targetvisu For Linux SL 4.16.0.0 on target device which contains Raspberry PI 64bit PIXEL desktop. When i connect my PLC program to the remote targetvisu, the targetvisu displays for 60% horizontally. We contacted CODESYS and they said it is a bug. they had a workaround, and with the settings below added to the file /etc/codesysvisualization/CODESYSVisualizationTV.cfg, the targetvisualization display for 100%, but with the taskbar at the top. I have a test application and use Codesys Control for Rasp Pi SL. I made a mistake and updated device from MSL to MC SL, and now if I try to go online with archived version of the project I gett error message that IDs are different between project device and target device. Of course, I can go online if I changed device in the project from SL to MC SL, but I'm not sure that is correct. So I have two questions: 1. What is the actual difference between MC SL device and standard SL device when it comes to raspberry pi 4? 2. What change I need to do on raspberry pi4 side to change device back from MC SL to SL? Bonjour, je suis novice, je rencontre un problème pour mon projet la gestion d'un moteur stepper. j’ai des erreurs dans mon code lié à la carte stepper et aux bibliothèques et je n’avance plus. J'ai joint les différentes captures d'ecran, j’explique ce que j’ai dejà fait fait : - j’ai isolé le code du stepper dans un unique projet afin de déceler d’où venait le problème afin de ne pas modifier totalement tout le projet. Ce que j’ai fait: J’ai supprimé les bibliothèques et j’ai réinstallé, j’ai les bonnes versions. J’ai supprimé le 750-671 du KBUS je l’ai réinstallé pareil. J’ai Nettoyé le code pour pouvoir le recompilé pareil. Je précise la version de mon codesys est : V3.5 SP21 patch 1 J’ai joint les différentes captures d’écran: les bibliothèques, le code de test, les 34 erreurs.
