I ended up figuring it out It wasn't in my code. It kept taking me to 2 of my visualizations but it wasn't going to anything specific. Figured out it was some arrows that I had made to buttons for a mouse click to go to the other visualizations. I removed the text in the assign box but didn't remove the action "change shown Visualization from the list. If I deleted the images all together, the error went away. That's how I thought to go look at that.

Thanks for your reply. I belive it is contiguous, I'm writing to adress 0 to 4. Or, do you mean something else? Well, something is happening. If I on the client set adress 1,2,3 to true, only 1 is set to true on the server side. On the client side, the data is array of word. But on the server side, the coils are array of bool. Holding register is array of word on server side. Can this be a problem? Attached screenshot of how it looks at the server side.

Update, installed 3.5.19.70 with the same result. The error message is as useful as a chocolate fire guard. The container SN is in the 130-xxx range which should work. The Version, Chip, Rev number don't mean anything to me. There is no SD Card installed. I've also reinstalled a fresh Wago FW22 image, Deployed PFC200 SL and Edge for Linux, still the same result.

Is it possible to use MC_Home without enabling the drive (MC_Power)? On the drive the homing method 35 (Homing on current position) has to be executed. The drive has to stay disabled due to safety. This is explicitly allowed by the drive. Unfortunately MC_Home reports the error SMC_REGULATOR_OR_START_NOT_SET when executed. Are there other options to start homing, if not with MC_Home?

Hi Gatto, Using version 3.5.21.xx, it is no longer possible to use Modbus function blocks (I make extensive use of these FBs.)as shown in the example. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_modbus_example.html The compiler detects one Modbus instance for each instance of the communication FB block. The example program above, although simple, reports 8 Modbus instances when compiled with the latest version. Codesys Support says that you must use fieldbus I/O mapping, but this will result in the loss of the ability to programmatically modify communication parameters. Sandro

Please check the attached snapshot. I am converting an int to real and storing in rVlv01_SV and then scaling the value using LIN_TRAFO. In the bottom Status Bar of Codesys, both RUN and SIMULATION are visible. When I enter value 100 as input to INT_TO_REAL instruction and press Ctrl-F7, the value can be seen at the input but the logic seems not to work. I searched for help but could not find anything relevant. What could be the reason. Codesys ver3.5.11 svn

My problem now is that I get this message when attempting to logon to the device: invalid user authentication on the target dev5, the new user created is pretty much a copy of the user 'Owner' except for the password. When I call the method it does not generate any error but also not reload any recipe to the recipe definition. Actually I have 6 recipe files on the directory PlcLogic. The rest of the methods work creating recipes, saving to file, etc. Does any one have the same issue? it is something to be set on the recipe manager?

Hi, It's my first time operating in Codesys 2.3, but I have done a good amount of Codesys programming, so I'm a little familiar. I haven't done a lot of RTU, but a lot of Modbus TCP. I don't have the PLC in my reach at the moment, but I'm trying to be a little ahead. We're adding the 750-652 module to read energy from a flowmeter over RTU. There will only be 1 slave. I attached pictures of my current hardware, PLC code, the register datasheet from the slave and the only modbus serial library I seem to have available. I'm uncertain if this will work. Hello Folks, I have a quite basic understanding of how PLC programming works. However I keep getting stuck on 1 problem I could not get my head around. The problem is as follow: I have a PLC with 60 IO (20 inputs, 40 outputs). Each IO is defined as a function block. Furthermore I have an external IO card connected trough a CanBus connection. This IO card has 4 analog input channels (USINT), 4 digital inputs (Bool) and 4, digital outputs (Bool) Because I have 2 different components which both has data have I made 4 arrays to store the data off every component in one variable. PLC_Input: Array [1..20] of BOOL; PLC_Output: Array [1..40] of BOOL IOCard_Input: Array [1..8] of BOOL IOCard_Output: Array [1..4] of BOOL Because the control and reading of the different in and outputs is done by a TCP connection I want to use some kind of enumeration or struct to give each index a name so that my main would be a little bit more readable instead of all the magic numbers. Also this would make my program more dynamic for the furter in case I need to changes some in the IO nummers. For example: pump is placed on the fysical terminal strip number place 54, which is the 3th output of the IO card in the program: if I am sending a message with value 54 I would like to control IOCard_Output[3]. If there is a solution or methode to get this done, I can eventually do the following in my main program: IOCard_Output[Pump]. I have tried the following: IOCard_Output[Pump - 51] with an enumration but this keeps raising an error I hope some of you could help me further with this problem. In gross lines: I want to couple all the different IO to a more readable name and this readable name should control the right Array index Thanks in advance, George

I was trying to use a table object in visualization. I want to dynamically show the valid rows in the table. However, it does not work when there is 1 row. i put the maximum array index to 1. it does not show the 1st row. when i change to 2, it show the second row only. my project with older visualization profile version is working perfectly fine. I did some test and realized that i must use a Row Selection variable to change from 0 to 1. With this change of Row selection, then the row 1 will show up.

Hello, currently im working with a RevPi connect 5 on a codesys project. Up until now I was having a blast because things were going really smooth but for like almost a day im kind of stuck on the integration of multiple profinet sensors into my project. This is kind of a bummer because that should be an easy thing to do. What I tried so far was to create and additional ethernet adapter where I then tried to connect my devices. in the beginning I tried to connect the devices directly which was not working because I could assign the IP-adress only to the ethernet adapter and not to the devices but the device was found in the device repository (this gets important in the second part) So what I tried next was to setup a PN-Controller and connect my devices subsequently to the Controller. Sadly now the devices wont show up in the device repository anymore. To me its not clear why this is happening. And the worst thing is: I went ahead and setup a device completely like I would want to have it in the project and when I then click on scan devices I can even find the device. But it can not be added to project for whatever reason eventhough im 100% certain that the gsdml file is the correct one. Can anyone help me with this. Like I said this seems like an easy thing to do and its taking me way longer than expected already. The only thing that came to my mind why this might not work is because I have codesys license which only allows one profinet instance. Could that be the case? The error message seems then pretty unfit but ok. I will be grateful for every advice. Thanks in advance! Best regards!

Hi all, I'm looking for help with an issue I've come across while trying to facilitate Modbus communication between a WAGO PFC200 PLC using a 750-652 communication module and an iEM2050 Series Single Phase Energy Meter. I believe to have everything wired and setup correcty, but I keep running into a "Error time out" message, and by now I don't really know what else to try. My setup is as follows: A PFC200 Wago PLC, which has 2 750-652 Serial Interfaces extension modules connected to its field bus. I'm using one of these to talk to a Schneider iEM2050 - kWh-meter over modbus. I have connected terminal 23 (A) of the iEM2050 to connector 6 (A) on the 750-652. I have connected terminal 24 (B) of the iEM2050 to connector 2 (B) of the 750-652. I'm using 200mm of twisted together wires to connected them both, and I have placed a 120 ohm resistor between A and B at both ends. I've attached relevant pinout images to this post. I then wrote a simple program that configures the Mobus port, as per the datasheet of the iEM2050. You can find an image of the relavent page attached to this post too. This seems to be a bug, as described here. However, the TON solved that particular issue. I tried reading multiple registers, but like I said, I still always end up with the "Error time out". Hi, I'm wondering if it exist a button or a keyboard shortcut (much much better) for "collapse all" the open folder on a codesys project. It would really be nice to have. Also: Are there some options or configuration for set a default zoom for the different editor (or even one global), for example I would like to have 100% on ST, LD editor and have 80% on Visualization Editor; and also have a button to set all the zooms to default, now it seems that every file mantain the one previously set. Hello! Opening a project from a python script given at the CODESYS command line does not work for me with a file based storage project. Example: Running projects.open("test.project", primary = True) works but converting the project to a file based storage project and then give the folder name as an argument to project.open Running projects.open("test.fbsproj", primary = True) does not work. We decided to work with file based storage for the project. Is there a scripting API for file-based storage to e.g. convert it while running the script back or how to open file based storage project with projects.open? Thank you! voffi

I have default arguments specified for function block methods but when calling a method, an error is produced requiring me to supply all the arguments despite there being default values. According to the online documentation, under section "Calling a Method" and subsection "argument passing" of the following link: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_obj_method.html "Passing an argument for an input ... can be omitted ... for which a default or initial value was specified in the declaration..." I have found this to be the case for all Codesys IDEs I've used, 3.5.11, 3.5.16, 3.5.17, 3.5.19. Am I missing something?

Here, it seems to me that we are getting completely off track with the observed problem. If questions clarifying the details of the installation are problematic, it's best to include those details in the original question then... I had already written this elsewhere. The program before being brought into machines was exhaustively tested in SW emulation and the problem did not occur. Testing the full program in emulation is entirely different from creating a simplified program to isolate the function causing problems in the real world. I would recommend trying it to isolate the issue. The drive and motor have been working fine for about 10 years. In replacing the machine control system, I opted for CoDeSys where before there was something else. But this is not the subject of the problem A simple "yes" is the correct answer to my question here... Anyways, you seem to be a very knowledgeable expert, good luck on your problem!

I am trying to implement a mechanism to send alarm SMS. For this, I have created an Alarm Class with a Notification Action which calls a POU. This POU implements IAlarmNotifiable making it selectable in the Alarm Class configuration. IAlarmNotifiable has an Execute method which is called by the alarm class. Now, I want to extract the alarm message of the triggered alarm. The Execute method comes with a VAR_INPUT itfAlarm: AlarmManager.IAlarm which supplies a method called GetMessage. The help text says: Returns the message text, that has been configured for the alarm. The result is a pointer to the buffer, where the message text is stored The type of the result is CharBufferPtr, and at some place I read that it can be interpreted as a pointer to string. But I cannot manage to extract the alarm message, all I get are numbers. I have tried the following: psAlarmText := itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^; sAlarmText := TO_STRING( itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^ ); So how do I get access to the alarm message as clear text? (In this case, "Larm 1")

Hi Dave. Thanks for your answer. I still struggling with this. I have done everything according with the Codesys help even I have looked in detail at the example. I have double checked the recipe manager configuration and the use of all the methods. There are two methods that do not work as expected. I'm using Codesys 3.5.19.20 and recipe management 4.4.0.0 .CreateRecipe just create a recipe in the recipe definition but do not create the file. This have a walk around just giving a .ReadAndSaveRecipe afterwards. .ReloadRecipes do nothing but do not generate any error as well. After calling it I call the .GetRecipeCount and the number is always 0. When I create a new recipe (using the function block methods) then the number changes. Looks like this method is looking to the wrong directory finding nothing. I don't know if there is a missing configuration in the CODESYSControl.cfg file. I'm thinking in a walk around for this but I need to create a strings array with the recipe names as retentive and making all the management when deleting and adding recipes. Have had some one the same problem?
