Post by josul on Web Client HTTPS Communication Issue CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Thank you for the suggestion. There is a certificate created in the quarantine directory relating to the URL used for the webclient FB. This certificate should have been valid as it was created only the week before this problem was encountered. I investigated a separate location using the same https URL and it has 2 certificates in the same quarantine directory, 1 is created almost 200 days ago, the other over 100 days ago. There have been no similar problems encountered with these certs or https at all.

Post by arwie on Use MC_Home without enabling the drive for homing method 35 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Is it possible to use MC_Home without enabling the drive (MC_Power)? On the drive the homing method 35 (Homing on current position) has to be executed. The drive has to stay disabled due to safety. This is explicitly allowed by the drive. Unfortunately MC_Home reports the error SMC_REGULATOR_OR_START_NOT_SET when executed. Are there other options to start homing, if not with MC_Home?

Post by imdatatas on Use MC_Home without enabling the drive for homing method 35 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, As far as I know, no matter which home mode is selected, the axis must be in Standstill mode to run MC_Home according to PLCopen state machine. However, if the function you want can already be done from a parameter in the driver of the vendor you are using, you can try to perform the same function by sending the required value to that parameter via communication with the SDO write command. Post by imdatatas on The default ramp type selection in SoftMotion V4.18.0.0 is Quadratic CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Dear @gseidel, @tk096, I noticed that with SoftMotion V4.18.0.0, if a new axis is added to the project, the ramp type selection defaults to "Quadratic". In all previous versions, the velocity ramp type selection was "Trapezoidal". This causes some unexpected issues in projects with SoftMotion version V4.18.0.0 for newly created or newly added axes to existing projects. Is it possible to reconsider this situation in the next update and set the velocity ramp type to "Trapezoid" by default again? Best Regards, Imdat

Post by jampid on Codeys Ladder LD2 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, Has anyone managed to use the last four buttons in a POU toolbar in LD2? You can close and open by clicking from one small rectangle to another (same for deleting a closure //). Linking K to D causes a series connection with all the branches // above. Amazing! I don't really see the advantages of this supposedly modern and efficient language over the old LD/FBD. Can anyone explain?

Post by gepert on GearInPos CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, Please give any tips regarding stopping Mc_GearInPos block. Please look at attached drawings. When fb MC_GearInPos is started, output "busy" is true - it is ok. But when i want to stop this funkction blok i deactive execute input and i use Mc_stop. Unfortunelly Mc_gearInPos is still busy. It lasts till to synchronize phase. Then i can stop it by Mc_stop. So I cannot stop fb before synchrnization. Can you give any tips how solve this problem. Sometimes I must to switch off before synchro. Best regards Lukasz

Post by phryniszak on RPI CANFD CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I have rpi with CANFD MCP2518FD. Classic can communication is working OK but when I try open in CANFD hDriver := CL2.FdDriverOpenH(usiNetId := 0, uiNominalBaudrate := 500, uiDataBaudrate := 0, xSupport29Bits := FALSE, ctMessages := 100, peError := ADR(eError) error is returned with value 10226 which is not documented (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/CAA%20Can%20Low%20Level%20Extern/Current/CAN-Low-Level/Enums/ERROR.html#error) CAA CanL2 is 3.5.21 version. Question is: 1. Is anyone get CANFD working? 2. What is meaning of this value (10226)? Regards, Pawel

Post by yannickasselin on Dynamically enabling/disabling Modbus slave devices in runtime (performance issue with timeouts) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I would definitely try using the "Reconfigure" function block from "CAA Device Diagnosis@ library. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/CAA%20Device%20Diagnosis/3.5.17.0/CAA-Device-Diagnosis/Function-Blocks/Reconfigure/Reconfigure.html#:~:text=This%20function%20block%20reads%20and,take%20effect. Although I have not tried it with Modbus, I had great success with EtherNet/IP, Profinet and EtherCAT. You can also have a look at the other functions in this library. There are useful functions to help iterate through all the nodes under a master node.

Post by camjam on BOOL variable in OPC UA and modbus simultaneously CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have come across this. The only way i could get it to work would be to define a word that is also the same address as the Bools. eg %MX600.0 through to %MX600.15 would be individually defined in the variables and them have another variable word defined at %MW300. You still need to break out the word in what ever program you are using to read/write the OPCUA tags.

Post by micky on Mail_Service_SL Lib CODESYS Forge talk (Post)

Post by romrot on MS SQL Compact cutting off Database name? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I'm trying to use an fbMsSQL_compact function to read data from an SQL database. It works with some databases, but there is one database that I can't seem to get it to work on. It's set up the same as the other databases that I've tested with the only difference I see is that the name of the database is cut off in the status message. I'll get a message like "User: User logged out succesfully from database: 12345" But the whole name of the database is something like 1234567.

Post by timvh on I want to show the current recipe name in the visualization screen CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Maybe the easiest solution for you is to add one STRING variable to your recipe and enter the name of the recipe in variable value. This is little bit double the work (naming the recipe and entering the value of the STRING variable), but in that case you always have the current value of the variable which you can read from the application and show in the visualization.

Post by sigurdrb on Network log messages CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I'm having some trouble with an OPC client connecting to the PLC. It could be that the problem is on the client side of things. The PLC have UPS power, but the switch and OPC client does not. It could explain some of the log messages. Could any of you help debugging by the log messages in the attachment? And if possible point me to the right library that explains the different messages? Thanks for all the help.

I am working on this same thing... I wonder if when you execute it in a "terminal" it is a graphical terminal window running under X whereas when it is run from a SysProcess, it is "headless" and hence X-less Does DISPLAY=:0 magically attach to the X session Wouldn't it make sense that scrot or imagemagick would automatically by default reference DISPLAY=:0 I'm just trying to figure out how this works or is supposed to work

Post by timvh on How to change keyboard layout on the virtual keyboard? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Maybe you have the "Devices" tab open(?), but the "templates" are in the POU pool. You can open it from the menu: View - POUs, or if it is already open, select the POUs tab which is normally next to the Devices tab. All objects which are part of a library are in the POU pool, because they should be device independent (at least most of them).

Post by pernockham on Engineering IDE from linux? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
An update note. Still using linux/Qemu. Still happy, but sometimes some things are harder. I lost the "bridge" connection to my VM (meaning for instance I couldnt "scan network" and find local units. Have spent tons of hours to find out why. Finally it seems the traffic got blocked by the firewall/iptables so needed to set rules for that. So friendly note that rules must allow forward traffic to/from you configured host bridge device.

Post by nchau on Requesting ESI Files for Estun Pronet Servo Drives (EtherCAT) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a project using Estun Pronet servo drives with EtherCAT communication, and I need the appropriate ESI (EtherCAT Slave Information) files to set up the network. The specific models I'm using are: Pronet-04AEG-EC Pronet-02AEG-EC-R1 Pronet-10AEG-EC-R1 Pronet-20AEG-EC-R1 Pronet-50DEA-EC-R1 If anyone has the ESI files for these models or knows where I can download them, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you in advance!

Problem solved, Once the perform_network_scan() is done, y just had to recover the address and using set_gateway_and_address(). Now i'm looking how to deploy all my device's applications on the PLC, I guess it will looks like : for app in allapplication: with online.create_online_application(app) as onlineapp onlinedevice = onlineapp.get_online_device() online.set_default_credentials(x,y) try: onlineapp.login(OnlineChangeOption.Keep, False) except Exception as e: msg = str(e).lower() if "rescan" in msg : print("PLC service might be off") elif "targetdo" in msg: print("Bad credentials") else print(msg) else: onlineapp.create_boot_application()

Post by solidlogicguy on Little endian to Float from Modbus RTU CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I got a device from which I require to read values from I am using a WAGO PLC 750-8212 and I am communicating through Modbus Master FUNCTION BLOCK from library WagoAppPLCModbus in Codesys 3.5 to this device. I already receive data from the device that is a CVM to monitor voltage from a fuel cell. The technical support of the company that makes these devices says that the data is sent in little endian form. And I want to convert it to a float value. The tech support sent me the next instructions of how to do it but I am new using codesys, so any advice or help I will really appreciate so much. Message from tech support: The process is complicated, better to do it with already implemented library in the language/program you use. Basically the process should be next: To convert the two Modbus registers containing parts of a 32-bit float in little-endian byte order to a floating-point number using mathematical operations, you first need to combine the two 16-bit integers (assuming reg1 is the lower word and reg2 is the higher word) and then interpret the result according to the IEEE 754 standard. Given: - Register 192 (reg1) = 4096 - Register 193 (reg2) = 14884 Step 1: Combine the two registers. Since we are dealing with little-endian byte order, reg2 is the high word, and reg1 is the low word: combined = reg2 * 2^16 + reg1 combined = 14884 * 65536 + 4096 combined = 975175680 + 4096 combined = 975179776 Step 2: Convert the combined value to binary: combined_binary = '1110101101011100000000000000000' Step 3: Split the binary into IEEE 754 components: Sign bit (1 bit): 0 Exponent (8 bits): 11101011 Mantissa (23 bits): 01011100000000000000000 Step 4: Convert the binary exponent to decimal and subtract the bias (127 for 32-bit floats): exponent = int('11101011', 2) - 127 exponent = 235 - 127 exponent = 108 Step 5: Calculate the mantissa as a fraction: The mantissa in IEEE 754 format is the fractional part after the leading 1 (which is implicit). Therefore, we need to convert the binary mantissa to decimal and add the implicit leading 1: mantissa_fractional = 1 + int('01011100000000000000000', 2) / 2^23 mantissa_fractional = 1 + 18688 / 8388608 mantissa_fractional = 1 + 0.002227783203125 mantissa_fractional ≈ 1.002227783203125 Step 6: Combine the sign, exponent, and mantissa to get the float value: float_value = (-1)^0 * mantissa_fractional * 2^exponent float_value = 1 * 1.002227783203125 * 2^108 Because the exponent is quite large, the resulting float value is a very large number.
