Hello , I am currently evaluating the CODESYS PROFINET Controller SL on a Revolution Pi Connect 5 and have encountered a problem with acyclic PROFINET Record Access (WRREC/RDREC). System Hardware: Revolution Pi Connect 5 Runtime: CODESYS Control 4.16.0.0 (SDK 3.5.21.10) Development System: CODESYS V3.5 SP21 (64-bit) CommFB: 3.5.17.10 ProfinetCommon: 4.6.0.0 PROFINET Controller Device: PN-Controller 4.6.0.0 PROFINET Device: NORD DRIVESYSTEMS SK205E with SK TU4-PNT GSDML: GSDML-V2.46-NORDDRIVESYSTEMS-PNT-20251016.xml Network The PROFINET network is completely separated from the office network. RevPi: eth0 → Office network eth1 → PROFINET wlan0 → Visualization The PN Controller is configured to use eth1. IP configuration: RevPi (eth1): 192.168.100.1/24 NORD Drive: 192.168.100.3 Connection is established successfully. Current Status The PN Controller reports: Controller Status = Run Online = TRUE IP Active = TRUE Connections = 1 Cyclic PROFINET IO communication works correctly. Problem I am trying to access PKW parameters via WRREC (Record Index 100). The request buffer contains: 01 14 00 04 92 00 00 00 00 00 00 which corresponds to Reference = 0x01 Request = Read Axis = 0 Parameter = 170 + 1000 Subindex = 0 Value = 0 The WRREC call is fbWRREC( REQ := xWrReq, ID := ConnectionID, INDEX := 100, LEN := 11, RECORD := ADR(TxBuffer) ); REQ is pulsed for one PLC cycle only. Observed Behaviour WRREC enters BUSY state and never finishes. Observed values: BUSY = TRUE DONE = FALSE ERROR = FALSE STATUS = 16#FFFFFFFF indefinitely. Packet Capture A Wireshark capture was taken on the PROFINET network. Observed traffic: PROFINET RT LLDP DCP Observed: successful cyclic IO Not observed: DCE/RPC Record Write Record Read RPC Bind No RPC packets are transmitted at all. Diagnostic Messages The controller repeatedly reports AR alarm.ind(err) AR CMI timeout although cyclic IO communication continues to work. Already Verified The following points have already been checked: correct Ethernet interface (eth1) correct CREATE_ID result correct Device ID correct Slot/Subslot correct GSDML correct REQ pulse RECORD buffer is larger than LEN cyclic IO communication works different Record Indices (100...104) tested Question Is there any known issue or limitation where WRREC/RDREC requests remain permanently BUSY and no RPC Record Access packets are generated? Could this behaviour be related to Runtime 4.16.0.0, PN Controller 4.6.0.0, the missing runtime license (currently running in demo mode), or any known issue with the PROFINET Controller SL? I am currently evaluating the PROFINET Controller SL and therefore the runtime is operating in demo mode. Could you please confirm whether WRREC/RDREC (acyclic Record Data services) are fully supported in demo mode, or whether a valid license is required for these services? Hello, I hope someone could help me. I installed the newest Codesys 3.5 SP 20 Patch 1. When loading the demo files from @i-campbell I can upgrade them to the latest version and everthing works on the OPC-UA client side as expected (object "a" is visible, I can use the "ExampleMethod"). Now I * remove the "Information Model", * delete the "OPC_UA_Symbols Objects", * Add "Information Model" again * add "TestRootObjectType" again and "Generate IEC declarations" * and search for mapped instances (to get instance "a" again) Very good still working as expected. Now I delete the OPC_UA_Symbols and add it again referring to the "objecttest" from 16.9.2020. Also I redo the steps from above. The result is now, that I can't see the "a" object in the "Root/Objects" folder. Why ist this and how can I make it running? I think, it could may be a different version of the UA configuration file. I tried to build my own model definition files and got the same problem (but I am really not an expert). When someone has a actual model, which is also running in the actual Codesys I would be very grateful. Or even better, how to make the correct model in e.g. UA Modeler SW (I followed the description https://documentation.unified-automation.com/uamodeler/1.6.0/html/howprojnet_sec.html).

Hi, I would like to divide a project into multiple applications - as a minimum: one handling visualization and Alarm Manager, one handling I/O and plant control logic. But how to exchange variables between the applications? What have you done to get such a solution? In versions 3.5.19 and earlier, you can have Child applications, where the children can access a GVL in the Parent application. Children apps is no longer possible in 3.5.20 - but you can have 'sibling' apps - Several apps directly under PLC Logic, that is. But how do they best communicate? The Communication Manager / Data Sources Manager is sort of possible via OPC UA, but it seems like overkill and with some limitations - for example no ARRAY OF STRUCT possible this way. If you have separate devices in your project, you can exchange data via 'CODESYS ApplicationV3', but not other applications in the same device (see attachment Datasources.png). You can do it via 'Select the project type'->'Other Project' and select the same project file, but this leads to crashing the Development system when working with the variables afterwards. It would be great to hear your thoughts / experiences on this topic - Bjarne

dear all I am working on a very generic gantry system (virtual drives + win v3 control) reading gcode from external file. In order to stop the interpolator function from running when gaps are detected, SMC_controlAxisByPos FB has the bStopIpo output which according to the manual is connected to the Interpolator's bEmergencyStop. Lets assume that the axis are parked in position X1000 Y1000 and the initial G code movement is G00 X500 Y500. The normal behavior is to travel from the actual x1000 y1000 to G00 X500 Y500. The SMC_Interpolator always gets the X0 Y0 as the initial position, meaning that the bStopIpo is active until the axis are in X0 Y0 and the release the interpolator to set the new positions to X500 Y500. Is there a suggested method to solve this behavior? bonus question: I get a lot of bStopIpo during standard interpolation movements (not gaps). While working with virtual axis this is not a problem but when real axis are installed this will be an issue. What exactly triggers the bStopIpo output? Slow axis accelerations compare to Gcode defaults? Kind Regards

Der Code lässt sich mit F11 auch Fehlerfrei generieren. Beim Download auf die SPS tritt dann der Fehler auf dem Bild auf. Anbei auch ein Bild des Logs nach dem Download. Hi, I am trying to create a log in my application. Since I cannot find any documentation regarding modifying the codesys configuration file to be able to log in ms, i tried to create a new log via CmpLog.LogCreate. Below is the part of the code where I create the logger and write a test string. In the log tab of codesys I actually see the new log that was created, but it is empty, and in the folder I cannot find any files. I can't find any detailed documentation. Can you guys give me support? Are there any examples? Hello everyone. I hope this is the right place to ask for help, this error is causing me a great amount of time loss and I really would like to end this nightmare. I don't know why but at times if I try to Browse -> Display Cross Reference on a variable Codesys just crashes. I'll attach the file with the complete crash report hoping someone can figure why it happend. I think that the unhandled exception comes from the PersisranceManager Module and is connected with the other big problem I'm facing: I cannot refactor in my project, if I'll try to refactor a POU name the whole POU will become "frozen", it's like its desynchronizing from the project and the project cannot find the pointer to the POU once I refactor it. And when I open the project a warning pop-up will show up with the frozen POUs name, but I cannot figure out what the warning is telling me. I'll attach every warning and error pop up the project is showing me, and thanks in advance to anyone who can figure something out.

Hello, I'm trying to install Codesys SP21p6 (but the error occurs in SP22 too for eg.) but it fails to install ApplicationComposer. Trying to install myself (version 4.4.0.0 or 4.5.0.0) by clicking 'changing the installation' from the Codesys Installer isn't better. The only message I get is "An error occured during the installation: The file [..]/ApplicationComposer.plugin.dll isn't a valid plugin" How is that? The installation went good the last time before a reinstallation... However, installing the version 4.3.0.0 seems to be successful without knowing what's the difference. I already tried to : - Restart my computer - Delete all temporary files in C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\Temporary Files - Download the package from the store - Compare the ApplicationComposer.plugin.dll from another computer (where the installation is OK) and it's exatly the same For your information, I can install other packages, such as Codesys CFC Can you help me? Do you have any idea of what could be the problem?

I don't have time to go through the whole manual but as I said earlier, the servo drive does not support any of the modes needed for SoftMotion Light to work. If you want to use the full SoftMotion, you could use SMC_Homing function block to do the homing. This function block does not use the Homing Mode. It still uses the CSP mode and does the logic in Codesys runtime instead of in the servo drive. Read the documentation about it to see if it fits your needs. But if your controller only supports SoftMotion Light, I am afraid you will not be able to use the i950. I do a lot of motion stuff with different servo brands. Some support all the modes needed for SoftMotion Light and some don't. You really need to make sure the modes are supported before choosing a brand over another. I tend not to use brand specific controllers in order not to be limited by their supported features. I usually choose a PC (Linux or Windows) and install the Codesys runtime and licences myself. This is the most flexible way to use Codesys in my opinion. Depending on how many axes are needed in your project, a full SoftMotion license may not be more expensive than SoftMotion Light because SoftMotion is available as Application based license whereas SoftMotion Light is not. But of course, SoftMotion is harder on the CPU than SoftMotion Light.

Hello, I am trying to program CAN Bus comunication on WAGO PLC (more precisely on WAGO Touch Monitor model TP600). I am using for this purpose library "WagoAppCanLayer2" from Wago company. My IDE for programming this device is CODESYS V3.5 SP19 Patch 2 + (64-bit). My program is written in Structured text using function blocks from previously mentioned library. After starting program CAN 2 interface is properly open. The xSend variable is toggling with period 2s. When program sends data an "Tx overflow" error appears. When I am watching CAN_H line on DSub 9 socket i am not able to see proper CAN frames - see screenshot attached to this message. Could somebody help me determine what is wrong with this program.
