Hello, i currently want to use a wago 750-8102 with the "codesys control for pfc100" runtime. I want to add the devices connected to the internal pfc100 bus via the "search devices" tab. This was reccommended in the following thread: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Deutsch/thread/7701332199/ But whenever i try to search for devices codesys just doesnt find anything and i cant close the "search devices" window. Has anyone got an idea what the problem might be? I already tried adding the devices connected to the pfc100 manually but the bus just doesn´t start. best regards Moritz

Hello, I am seeing some weird runtime behavior related to the EQ function on a rapsberry pi based system. I have attached a screenshot showing the strange latching I am seeing on the EQ function, and I have not seen this behavior before. I tried freshly restarting the runtime and it has this same behavior. Anyone seen this? I am on 3.5.20 with the latest runtime installed. Basically, as soon as it hits one of those EQ's in the program, it latches effectively locking the output on. Any input from the Codesys team would be appreciated as well as anyone that might know what I am seeing.

Hello, CODESYS Control is running on my RevPi, and my system communicates over a CANbus with a master using the ConnectCan module (Slave - CANopen Device). The communication works perfectly fine so far. However, as soon as I call a Python script with "SysProcessExecuteCommand2" that creates a CSV file and executes without errors, the master does not adopt any changes to the Transmission Process Data Objects (TPDOs). I don't quite understand what one has to do with the other, and perhaps someone can help me with this. Here is my script call: SysProcess.SysProcessExecuteCommand2(pszCommand:='python /home/pi/test.py', pszStdOut:=sCMDOutput, udiStdOutLen:= SIZEOF(sCMDOutput), pResult := ADR(eResult)); Thank you in advance! Hi All, I'm trying to develop a multi-application project that allows me to switch between applications. I currently have a parent application and several child applications, as this is the only way for them to share CAN/Ethernet communication. I've noticed that I am only able to create an Alarm Configuration for the parent application. But the children application do not seem to be displaying alarms on the Alarm Table in the visualisation for when an alarm is raised. Does anyone know of a fix, solution or a way around this? I am utilising Codesys v3.5 SP16 Patch 5 64Bit

My CODESYS OPC UA server provides endpoints using both the hostname and the IP address. Connecting via the IP address works fine, but connecting via the hostname does not. The endpoint list shows both opc.tcp://<hostname>:4840 and opc.tcp://<ip>:4840. When using the hostname, the OPC UA client (UA Expert) fails to connect. Using the IP address connects without issues. Main goal is to conect via Python but opcua-asyncio seems to prefer the hostname. How can I configure CODESYS or my system so that the OPC UA connection via hostname also works properly or disable it completly? Running Codesys for PFC200 sl 4.18.0.0

Hi, My PLC/controller doesn't support OPC UA, so my current plan to create a ringbuffer/circular logger is to connect a raspberry pi to it, use the Network Variable List receiver and sender and raspberry pi codesys runtime to get the variables to the raspberry pi, after which I will use the pi which DOES support OPC UA to get the variables to a python program which logs the desired variables for a certain amount of time for me, would this work? I don't want to spend 50+ euros + licencing fees for a solution that might not work.

Unfortunately, the "C0138: No matching 'FB_Init" method found" error is a nightmare for CODESYS V3.5 SP21. I'm not sure if anything has been done about this or if anything will be fixed. I've encountered the same issue many times, and it was only resolved by completely uninstalling SP21, deleting all related files and folders from my computer, and then installing SP19. So, I've given up on using SP21 and switched back to SP19patch7. I have a project with hundreds of OPC-UA variables available on the network. A lot of these variables are used actively in various scripts that run in background in the OS (Linux). I'm experimenting with Automation Server and I have a hard time understanding how the web interface populates its parameters list for a given PLC (<plc details="" parameters="" for="" plc="" 'xyz'="">).</plc> In this page, it looks like the only variables available are the ones that are of a "base" type : bool, TIME, String, INT, etc. All the variables that are nested into function blocks or structures are not available in the web interface, even if they are available to any OPC-UA client. Is this a limitation of the Automation Server or is there something that can be done in Codesys?

Hello everyone, I have been trying to test the auto-login feature that is advertised on the Release Notes since Visu 4.8: *Version: 4.8.0.0 Besides some bug fixes and improvements this version contains the following new functionality: Alarmmanagement: Possibility to raise alarms programmatically Use real time clock of IEC context Automatic login for WebVisu using Chrome "Sign in automatically"* I am using a personalized login Visualization, the User Management works, however, when ticking the checkbox that keeps the credentials stored, after I reload the page I still see that the user and password details are not filled in. I tried with the default Login Visu (Blue one), and still see the same behavior - VisuUserManagement.VUM_LoginVisualization - I've tried with Chrome and Edge. Thanks for your help

Hey Everyone, I'm having a bit of a struggle finding settings that will reliably maintain a connection between the webvisu and a touchscreen client. Every so often the HMI disconnects and will perpetually display the red spinning arrow with the "Error Happened, Will resume automatically" text. Power cycling the HMI to force a reconnect will re-establish comms. It seems to happen during periods of inactivity if that's a clue. From what I've gathered so far this seems to have something to do with the webvisu update rate, buffer size as well as the visu task scan rate. We first tried the default settings as follows: Webvisu Update Rate: 200 ms Webvisu Buffer Size: 50,000 Visu Task Scan Rate: 100 ms Priority 31 Other Tasks for Reference: Main Task Scan Rate: 100 ms Priority 1 Alarm Manager Scan Rate: 50 ms Priority 31 Ethercat Task: 4 ms Priority 1 This would disconnect some what regularly. We then made the following changes to try and stabilize: Webvisu Update Rate: 150 ms Webvisu Buffer Size: 75,000 Visu Task Scan Rate: 75 ms Kept other tasks the same. This seems to disconnect even more frequently. Also for reference the network is very small and only consists of the PLC, a small switch and the HMI. We're also not controlling frames from outside the visu program itself. The frame changes are all done natively. Any suggestions to get this to stop disconnecting? Oh and whatever the issue is the log does not record it. Figured I would ask here before opening a ticket. Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, this is the error the sometimes show up. What make me crazy is the fact that it happens randomly and not each times. I know very well where the problem is, in wich one program row it's located. For each actions of the state machine I have all events recorded with log on text file. it is not problematic for me to find the application point of the fault, but I need to understand why occasionally and for no apparent reason, switching the state machine and thus changing the motion FB, sends the axis into failure (but only occasionally). For example, one case that is often problematic is the execution of the Axis Halt instruction. When, after a MoveAbosulte instruction this returns the event as 'done' and indeed the axis is in standstill, the state machine first sets the move instruction to FALSE, and the next cycle sets the Halt request to TRUE. Some of the time everything works out fine. Occasionally, however, in this exchange, the axis goes into fault, also losing the OPERATIONAL state. Meanwhile, I would like to understand why the motion FB instances must still be called even after the Execute is set to FALSE, especially in view of the fact that the next instruction is programmed to abort the previous one, with BufferMode set to 'Aborting'. All these unnecessary FB calls are an unnecessary overhead on the CPU anyway. Is there any precise rule about when to cease calling the various instances? (It should precisely be the 'done' status that says this one has finished its work).

Hello, I am using Codesys sp20p3 and IIoT library 1.11. I am trying to test QoS 1 & 2 and I have some issues. I am using mosquitto as the broker. I am also using some other MQTT clients like Node-Red and TwinCAT. They all work as expected for every QoS levels. I only have issues with Codesys MQTT client. In the Codesys client, if I subscribe to a topic as QoS 1 or 2, and a client publishes to this topic, I receive the message. But if I disconnect the Codesys client from the network and a client publishes to the subscribed topic, when I reconnect Codesys client to the network, I don't receive the messages as expected. Also there does not seem to be an auto-reconnect feature. So I have to manually set the mqttClient.xEnable bit to FALSE then back to TRUE in order to reconnect to the broker, then I also have to set the subscribe.xEnable to FALSE and back to TRUE in order to re-subscribe to the topic, but even then, I don't receive the messages that were published while I was disconnected. What am I doing wrong? I set the cleanSession bit to FALSE and I give my client a clientID. With the TwinCAT MQTT Client, I do the same thing and everything works as expected. It even auto-reconnects to the broker. I would expect Codesys MQTT Client to be as reliable as TwinCAT. Maybe I am doing something wrong? I also noticed that when trying to publish a QoS 1 or 2 message while disconnected from the broker, it does not work. In TwinCAT, I am still able to publish. The messages are stored in the client and published once reconnected to the broker. I would expect to be able to do the same thing in Codesys. Is this all possible? Am I doing something wrong? Hello, we have the same problem here. Our configuration in the following: Codesys V3.5 SP19 running on Exor Exware700Q Profinet network connected on Eth1 IOLink Master Turck TBEN-S2-4IOL version 3.5.9.0 IOLink sensors E+H & Sick (Pressure, T°) We installed the codesys IO link package and have the codesys IO Link SL licence activated (on a dongle) Our problem is the following: we got the IODD files from E+H & Sick we add the devices in the codesys device repository with success They appear in the devices tree under IODD branch We added the TBEN IOLink master under the Profinet IO . The IO link master are ok and display online. The IO-Link SL package datasheet indicate that there would be a way to scan the IOLink device from the network but we did not find any way to trigger this scan. (we expect to get this from a right click on each IO-Link Master module but the only possibility there is "Plug device") When clicking on Plug Device, we get a browse window with profinet IO modules. The IODD devices are not there so we cannot select them. But other devices for other brands are available and can be plugged. Our question are : 1) how do we update the Profinet IO Module catalogue in order to be able to plug the E+H & Sick Sensors that we have to work with? 2) how do we activate the Scan IOLlink device that is supposed to be included in the Codesys IO-link package? 3) where can we find the manual explaining how to use this package?

Hello, I am using codesys Modbus TCP client (4.4.0.0) to communicate with a python modbus server (package pyModbusTCP). I first start my python server on the distant machine. After a fresh codesys compilation, a plc connection/transfer and a PLC run, the modbus connection is OK. Every time in this context the connection is created correctly. When I shut down the server, the modbus connection falls, that is normal. When I restart the python server, impossible to recreate the modbus connexion. With the client autoreconnection, I see on my server that the client tries to connect but unsuccesfully. I have the following message : DEBUG:pyModbusTCP.server:accept new connection from ClientInfo(address='192.168.1.20', port=33476) DEBUG:pyModbusTCP.server:Exception during request handling: NetworkError('recv return null') I tried to stop the codesys client and to restart it with these commands : Modbus_TCP_Client.xStop := True; // Or False Modbus_TCP_Client.Enable := True; // Or False Modbus_TCP_Server.Enable := True; // Or False I tried to confirm the error manually to force reconnection with: Modbus_TCP_Server_Motors.xConfirmError := TRUE; I tried also this command to STOP/RESET/START client and server (codesys side) but nothing happens : status_client := Modbus_TCP_Client.SetCommunicationState(eRequestedState := DED.DEVICE_TRANSITION_STATE.STOP); // .RESET & .START The answer of this function when executed is "status_client = NOT_SUPPORTED" It seems that is a socket problem, but I do not understand if it is on the client or server side. I tried a modbus simulator called "ananas.exe" and the result is the same. Impossible to get a modbus reconnection. What is different at the first connection and at a reconnection attempt ? Subject: Solution: CODESYS Freezes Linked to Large Symbol Configuration (OPC UA) Hello everyone, I was experiencing the same problem as many here: CODESYS (v3.5 SP20+) freezing during compilation and download, especially on projects that use OPC UA for SCADA. The only workaround was to run Build > Clean all before every download. I believe I have found the root cause and a permanent solution. The Problem: The issue is directly related to a large Symbol Configuration. In my project, I only need about 700 tags for OPC UA, but the Symbol Configuration list was showing over 250,000 tags. This is because it automatically includes all variables from Global Variable Lists (GVLs) and other memory areas. When any static variable is changed, the IDE tries to rebuild this enormous list, causing it to freeze for several minutes. The Solution: Instead of letting CODESYS export every variable by default, you can use a pragma to tell it which variables or GVLs to exclude from the symbol export process. Place the following pragma at the top of any GVL or data structure that you do not want to be part of the symbol configuration: 1 {attribute 'symbol' := 'none'} 2 VAR_GLOBAL 3 // All variables in this GVL will now be excluded from the 4 // Symbol Configuration by default. 5 InternalVariable1 : INT; 6 InternalVariable2 : BOOL; 7 END_VAR After adding this pragma to all the GVLs that were not needed for OPC UA, the number of tags in my Symbol Configuration dropped to the correct amount. The compilation and download process is now fast again, with no freezing. This method is much more efficient than manually managing the symbol list in the editor. Hello to all, I'm totally new to Codesys, but I do have some PLC programming experience, mosty with Siemens TIA and STEP7. I have just installed Codesys 3.5. sp19 and I have downloaded example with Ethernet Rockwell 1734AENT. I wanted to dive into the subject and decided to follow this great Instructables article: https://www.instructables.com/Programming-Raspberry-Pi-With-CODESYS/ Thank you in advance for your help! My current setup is as follows: 1. I have Codesys Control for Raspberry Pi, version 4.14.0.0, (https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-control-for-raspberry-pi-sl.html) installed on a Raspberry Pi 3B. 2. I am using my smartphone hotspot to create a network. 3. I have CODESYS 3.5 SP21 (64 bit) installed on my Windows 11 laptop. 4. Both the Raspberry Pi and my laptop are connected to the smartphone hotspot network (I am wirelessly connecting to the Raspberry Pi). Connecting to the Raspberry Pi from CODESYS on my laptop: 1. I launch Codesys Installer -> I install Codesys Control for Raspberry Pi (link to the software). 2. I launch Codesys 3.5 SP21 (64 bit) on my laptop. 3. I go to file --> new project --> standard project --> in the pop-up I select "Codesys Control for Raspberry Pi" and "Structured Text" 4. I click on tools -> Deploy Control SL (on older versions of Codesys you would click on "update Raspberry Pi", I got that information from this video: link) 5. Inside Deploy Control SL --> I go to the "communication" menu and I input the IP address of my Pi, the password, and click on connect. 6. Inside Deploy Control SL --> I go to the "deployment" menu and I install Codesys Control for Raspberry Pi SL and Codesys Edge Gateway for Linux 7. Now I double click on "device" in the left hand tree and put in the IP address of my Raspberry Pi and click on connect --> success! I am able to connect! SEE SECOND PICTURE Powering the EK1100 and connecting it to the Raspberry Pi: 1. I am supplying the EK1100 with 24 V across the + and - pins. 2. I have jumper wires going from the + pin to the 24V pin and from the - pin to the 0V pin. SEE THIRD PICTURE 4. I am pretty confident that the EK1100 is receiving power because the "LED Us 24 V" and "LED Up 24 V" are lighting up. 5. I then run an ethernet cable from the EK1100 to the Raspberry Pi port (the Raspberry Pi is connected to my laptop wirelessly over WiFi). I think this connection should also be good since the LINK/ACT LED lights up. Trying to connect to the EK1100: 1. Back in Codesys I right-click on "Device" in the left tree and then in the pop up I click on "add device". 2. I then click on EtherCAT Master. 3. Then, back in Codesys I double click on "EtherCAT Master" in the left hand tree. I then paste the MAC address into the "Source Address (MAC)" field. 6. I go to the Beckhoff official website and download the XML files for EtherCAT: https://www.beckhoff.com/en-en/products/i-o/ethercat-terminals/ek1xxx-bk1xx0-ethercat-coupler/ek1100.html? 7. I unzip those files in my computer into some folder that I can remember. 8. Back in Codesys I click on "Tools" --> "Device Repository" --> "Install" --> and then on the "Beckhoff EK11xx.XML" file. 9. In theory the necessary XML file is now installed. 10. THIS IS WHERE I RUN INTO THE PROBLEM: I then click on login --> I right click on EtherCAT_Master and then scan for devices --> and nothing. 11. It just doesn't detect it. On top of this whenever I login I get those orange triangles on the left on my tree. When I check the Log I get the messages at the very first screenshot of this post. SEE FOURTH PICTURE Solutions that I have tried to resolve this problem: 1. I thought it was maybe the .XML file so I installed all the .XML files from the EtherCAT folder that I downloaded. That didn't fix it. 2. I went on the Wayback Machine and got the .XML files from 2018 as I thought maybe an older version would work. This file of EtherCAT folders had a .XML file named "Beckhoff EKxxxx.XML" I thought this would work because that's the name of the file the guy in the Instructables used (https://www.instructables.com/Programming-Raspberry-Pi-With-CODESYS/). That didn't do anything. 3. I ran the PLC on my computer instead of the Raspberry Pi and tried to connect to the EK1100, in case the issue was with the Raspberry Pi, but I still ran into the same error from the picture above: "Attention! The device was not found in the repository. Vendorcode: 0x0. Productcode: 0x0. Revision: 0x0". SEE FIFTH PICTURE 4. I reinstalled Codesys, I was originally on version 3.5 SP20 when I did this, I upgraded to 3.5 SP21 with no success. 5. I then thought the solution might be to first add the EK1100 hardware before connecting so I did the following: 6. Right click on "EtherCAT Master" on the left hand tree --> then click on "add device" --> then I added the "EK1100 EtherCAT Coupler (2A E-Bus)" MY THEORY OF WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM: I asked ChatGPT for help and it said that it might have something to do with the revision number. On the physical EK1100 it says "Rev. Nr.: 0018". I believe that this means that I need to a revision 0018 XML file but if you look in Codesys it says the version is 16 (picture above). This is confusing because I got my .XML file from the official Codesys website so it should be the most up to date version possible. I searched and I searched and I couldn't find a version 18 .XML file, I don't even now if this exists.
