Hi ustad41, cams can be buffered using the BufferMode input of MC_CamIn. If the end- and start-velocity of two buffered cams are not zero, there will be no stop. Not sure this answers your question. Cams can be changes on the fly by aborting the active cam. Please see [0] for details on switching cams. I have noticed on the standard numpad dialog, if a user enters a purely decimal number (ie '.6'), the numpad will not accept the value but gives no indication. One must type a leading zero (ie '0.6') in order for it to work. Is there a way to correct this so that a user can just type the decimal value?

Hello everyone, I'm hoping for some assistance with a license activation issue: a software crash has left my license in a strange state. Here is the sequence of events: I purchased a new license for the Raspberry PI from the official CODESYS web store. I opened the CODESYS and started the online activation process using the ticket number I received. During the activation, the CODESYS software threw an exception and crashed. I was not able to see if the activation completed. After restarting CODESYS, I attempted to run the activation process again with the same ticket number. The License Manager now gives me an error stating that the ticket has already been activated/used. I am now stuck because my installation is not licensed, but the activation server believes my ticket has been consumed. Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a way to have the ticket status reset?

I hope the community can help me with this. I need to use the Visu Utils FbOpenDialog to control the opening and closing of a dialog. I have the Opening and Closing working, but I can’t get the dialogue's position to be controlled. The code looks like this: PROGRAM OPEN_DIALOG VAR xOpenLatchSettingDialog : BOOL; TopLeftDialog : VisuStructPoint ; fbOpenLatchSettingsDialog : VU.FbOpenDialog ; END_VAR IF xOpenLatchSettingDialog THEN xOpenLatchSettingDialog:= FALSE ; TopLeftDialog.iX := 100; TopLeftDialog.iY := 23; fbOpenLatchSettingsDialog(sDialogName := 'visu_AlarmLatchSettings', xExecute := xOpenLatchSettingDialog , xModal := TRUE, itfClientFilter := VU.Globals.OnlyTargetVisu, pTopLeftPosition := ADR(TopLeftDialog)); CloseVisuDialog(sDialogName:= 'visu_AlarmLatchSettings'); ELSE xOpenLatchSettingDialog:= TRUE ; IF fbOpenLatchSettingsDialog.xError THEN xOpenLatchSettingDialog := FALSE; END_IF END_IF I can't seem to work out a way to make the values in TopLeftDialog.iX and TopleftDialog.iY be passed correctly in the call and for it to change the position of the dialogue box. The code is compiled, but the position has not been changed. Any guidance or suggestions for revising this code would be incredibly valuable. Your insights could be the key to solving this issue.

Hi, I'm creating a program where I need to handle arrays, like: - Declare lenght variable arrays - [array(1..var) of "sometype"]. This is not possible in pure codesys, right? - Know array lenght, min, max, avg values in runtime - append/delete itens in an array - and so on Is there a library know for this in codesys. Is it possible to build our own libraries using some high level language like python or java script?

Post by maldus512 on How to adapt Codesys Control SL to custom board
CODESYS Forge

(Post)
Hello everyone, I have been given the task to develop I/O drivers for a custom made, Linux based board to allow for Codesys applications to run and control the hardware. I have successfully installed Codesys Control SL for ARM/Linux and tested it with a simple demo application. Now I should start interfacing the runtime to the actual hardware; I should be able to interact with 2 RS485 serial ports, a few GPIOs and an I2C port, all of which already have the corresponding /dev/ interface in the Linux system. I am having trouble understanding how it should be approached. I have found sporadic references that fail to lead to a really comprehensive documentation. For example: The store page (https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-control-for-linux-arm-sl-1.html#options) mentions a "runtime package" that should allow "Integration of existing C code" and "Usage of local I/Os", which seems exactly what I need to interact with custom peripherals. I have found no further reference to Codesys-C interpop. The Codesys Help page for the runtime package has a page on the "Development of Drivers" (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/rtsllinuxrbpdriverdevelopment.html) that suggests to either "Implement a function block" or "Implement I/O drivers". Those in turn lead to this page (https://forge.codesys.com/drv/io-drivers/doc/Generic/) which describes briefly an XML schema to describe new devices; unfortunately, it doesn't mention what to do with such a description (i.e. how does the runtime know about it) or how it is in any way connected to the actual hardware. Could anyone give me some pointers? I should also mention I have no prior experience with Codesys, so maybe I'm missing an obvious answer.

I have done the switch (linux mint, virtual windows through QEMU/KVM) now and is generally pleased. Have had problems in two areas initially. To bridge IP to the Virtual unit (solved), I overthought things initially. Solution. Configure manually a bridge in the mint-"network connections". Use that bridge in the Qemu settings as "Bridge device", "Device name": "name of the configured bridge" Figure out where to store the projects. I started out have the data in linux world (sort of) and linking it the windows with "virtio-fs". That had some serious impact though on git-handling. It seems that virtio-fs interpreted any file-path as lowercase only even if there were uppercase, resulting in git not able to sync files between its repository and the source code (it created a new file-path for me with only lowercase). Then I switch to samba-share instead and this works much better, though (git-actions) is a part that still has low performance with lots of waiting for file-actions. What should be the best way of handling the source/git? Edit to answer myself: Save the project "locally" in windows, then a lot of slow performance is avoided. Then a git-remote sync for backup.

Hello everyone, I’m currently working on setting up an EtherCAT Master using CODESYS on a Raspberry Pi, and I’ve run into some issues I could use help with. Project Setup: EtherCAT Master: Raspberry Pi with CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi 64 SL installed EtherCAT Slave: Beckhoff CX5130 with EK1200 coupler I/O Module: EL2008 License Module: EL6070-0033 I’ve installed the required CODESYS packages and the Linux gateway on the Raspberry Pi. In my project, I added the EtherCAT Master with the appropriate port settings and scanned for devices. The CX5130 shows up as a slave, but communication fails—I'm getting error messages and can't access the outputs. Specifically: The EL2008 output module isn’t recognized properly in CODESYS. There’s no option to communicate with it through the CX5130. I’ve tried connecting via both the Raspberry Pi’s built-in Ethernet port and an external network card. I've attached screenshots showing the errors I get in CODESYS and the devices detected via TwinCAT for reference. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Ok, for the sake of completeness in case anyone else has this problem. I can tell you that what finally worked for me was to change the line: // create an ExtensionObject to wrap the value to be written ExtensionObject extensionObject = new ExtensionObject( new ExpandedNodeId("GVL_StructA", 5), structAData ); to: // create an ExtensionObject to wrap the value to be written ExtensionObject extensionObject = new ExtensionObject( new ExpandedNodeId("GVL_StructA|defaultbinary", 5), structAData ); I'm sure there are many other problems that could cause this very generic error, but this was my problem.

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
