I'm currently trying to make my way through this jungle...
Hilscher CIFX 50E PCIe cards:
DP Master + CANopen Master
If I want to run these under Control RTE, do I need a master license from Hilscher for each card?
Or do they run entirely with CoDeSys drivers and parameterization tools?
I can’t find any clear information on this from either manufacturer.

Completely managed by CODESYS, including licenses.
You specifically have to set the parameters correctly in the CODESYSControl.cfg to let the RTE have access to the cards.

with CIFX50E-DP and CIFX50E-CO ?
Are there 1 or 2 entry for componentnes in the gui?
Is slot no. this no. in the gui or any other number?
What is the Device-No. ?
When I tried Win hang, or PLC hang.
Log not writing or not telling me the problem.

Is 2026 and for this basic things I have to do trial and error?

the information "license completly by Codesys" is WRONG.
For DP Master function you need the license from Hilscher, too.

You have to know this (and the crap help site don't tell you):
- Changes in CODESYSControl_User.cfg, not in CODESYSControl.cfg (crash of PLC/Win possible)
- Redundancy is important for Profibus, also if you don't use it because the libarys depending on it
- The no. after the device is the slot numer for PLC device config
