    I've just installed CODESYS 3.5 SP17 Patch 2 in my Windows-10 laptop.
I want to test the runtime at localhost (should be installed by default?), so I started a standard project.

However, I got stuck at first step: "scan network" can NOT find my local runtime.(see screenshot attached)

    Any hint? Thanks!

did you start the runtime? ( by rightclick in the tasktray - control win 64) there should be a icon next to the Gateway.

are you talking about the icon to "Start plc" (see attached)
It stopped by default, I just started it (show "running")

But same result: "scan network" finds nothing.

(By the way, my PLC is empty, as I have not input any code yet.)
(and question: does "start PLC" mean "start runtime"?)

Okay, I make it working with the following steps:
    1. Step-1: Update device form "RTE V3 x64" to "Win V3 x64"
    2. Step-2: Then create user and login with that user

Even though it is working now, I am still confused about what those steps mean?

the device in the project should be the same as the device you start on you pc. Control RTE is the realtime capable plc. ( available as download in the CODESYS store)
